With it's convenient location next to an Econo Lodge off of I-39 headed north, this Denny's location was full when we arrived. They seem a bit under-staffed, as I saw only two line cooks and two waitresses despite a slew of customers. Despite the lack of coverage, the waitress took our order quickly. We expected a wait, and it was not terrible - when I first noticed we were waiting, the food arrived almost immediately after. The hash browns were spot on. Mine came with a crunchy brown sear, and while I lime less white, fluffy hash browns, I did not ask them to cook them special, so I have to live with my choice. The toast was also a nicely toasted rye bread with some visible caraway seeds. It tasted like a good rye bread should taste. This is the point where the review goes south. We knew we'd have to wait given the crowd, but if I have to wait, I expect hot food when it arrives. The eggs, while perfectly cooked over easy, were lukewarm - along with the bacon, sausage, and ham. I'm well-aware that a place like this pre-cooks the meat, so they can meet a rush. My issue is that a warmer keeps the meat Luke-warm. Pretty much everyone with access to cable TV and the food Network knows that if you pre-cook the meat, you get it on the flat top prior to dropping the eggs to ensure that you serve up hot, tasty meat. That did not happen hear. The bacon had good flavor, but since it did not revisit the flat top, it came back flaccid, not crispy. The sausage tasted like the teacher in Charlie Brown specials talks - mwah, mwah, mwah. Getting it back on the flat top would have allowed better browning and the introduction of actual flavor. The ham tasted...disgusting. I like a good ham steak with a meat lovers type breakfast, but this did not even taste like ham. I think I was eight the last time I had to actually spit something in my napkin because it tasted so gross. The rye toast and the two buttermilk pancakes that come with the Lumberjack Slam allow this score to sit at two stars instead of one. Use of the flat top might have elevated this to three stars, but alas, ''twas not meant to be." I can't recommend that you stop here. Honestly, if you want a good breakfast, head north to The Log Cabin on Schofield Ave. It is not as convenient as a Denny's next to the hotel, but your taste buds will appreciate the trip. read more

Service was okay. Never asked if I wanted a drink refill or anything and just set my bill on the table. The food was terrible- the hash browns were rock hard! Couldn't even cut them with a knife. Bacon was very tiny strips. My toast must have had a huge hole through the loaf so my two pieces were missing much of the bread. The place was clean. But would never go back. read more

Denny's has definitely gone down hill since I was a kid. I used to love this restaurant, but the one in here isn't great. There is one waitress we always seem to get that always gets the order wrong. Something is always missing or we get something we didn't even order. The food lacks flavor. The menu has little to no options anymore because of COVID. I understand needing to down size the menu, but we were very surprised on how little of a variety there was. We have tried to give them a chance, but between lack luster serves and bland food, we won't be going back anymore. At least not to the one here. read more

We've become coupon clippers in our old age. Ok, we're only in our early 30s, but we're new parents, a student and a part-time employee - we're learning to love the coupons! I very excitedly clipped a coupon that promised a $.99 entree with the price of another! Hell yes, I'll take a $.99 entree! So, we decided to celebrate a Friday by eating dinner at Dennys! Gotta say, I'm impressed! I hadn't been to a Dennys since I was 9 months pregnant in Texas and craving their french toast at some ungodly hour. I did NOT have the french toast this time, I had the santa fe skillet and I gotta tell you - it was damn delicious! I don't remember what my husband had as I was so obsessed with what was in front of me, but I'm sure he liked it. I think it involved eggs. The atmosphere was lovely and I enjoyed the hell out of the ridiculous conversation of the high school loves behind me. I couldn't resist eavesdropping and I'm pretty sure I was never that ridiculous. I'm also pretty sure that Ashley needs to dump that loser... anyway... overall we had a really lovely and exciting Friday night out at Dennys and I look forward to clipping more coupons for this lovely little establishment. read more

Ok - this is a 5 star review based on expectations one would have of a Denny's or similar restaurant. We were greeted immediately by a friendly hostess. Our waitress Hilda was funny- immediately cracking jokes and making people smile. She also gave her honest assessment of food choices and did not steer us wrong. They are lucky to have her! Our food arrived quickly and at the proper temperature. Everyone was satisfied with their meals. The bathroom was clean but the floor was a bit dated. The restaurant appeared clean. Probably one of the better dining options near the grand lodge. It's not fine dining but for a Dennys- it's pretty darn good. read more

This was probably the worst Denny's experience I have had in a very long time. First, they are re-paving the parking lot so there is no access from Hwy XX. Why re-do your parking lot and close off both entry points? Better project management would have kept one of the entry's open. Next, when we finally figured out how to get into the parking lot and walked in, it took the hostess about 10 minutes to appear and seat us. The good arrived very quickly (thus saving them a 1 stars review from me) and was to order. If the rest of the night went normally, I would have given this a 3 star review. But we sat for 15-20 minutes after we were all clearly done and waiting for our bill. I finally got up and asked the waitress for the bill. I eat at Denny's 2-4 times a week. I am always happy with my food and the staff. The management always seems to be around and helping out when needed. Samantha is always awesome. I like the variety of the menu because it does change. I can go anywhere and get boring good. I come to Dennys for something different and I am never disappointed. This Denny's is also very clean!!!! We have eaten at Dennys for years. Recently there seems to a fresh new atmosphere. The wait staff goes out of the way to please. The new menus are marked with Gluten Free items. Our family needs this. They are one of the few chain restaurants that have vegetables that are good tasting. It seems to be a friendlier happier place. Nov 2021 We always go for breakfast but this time we went for supper. There were only a handful of cars in the parking lot and four occupied tables in the front area. They had a full wait staff; a hostess, a busser, and at least four waitresses. They took our order and we waited and waited and waited. Food kept getting brought up to the front for takeout, but no-one in the restaurant was getting food. And the waitresses were no where to be seen. After half an hour, the table across from us, who had been done eating the whole time we were there, finally got their bill and left. After another 15 minutes, my husband got up to see if our food was on a counter somewhere and we were rudely told by the waitstaff that our food will be brought out when it is ready. 10 minutes later, we finally go our food, which was put on our table without a word. Maybe they were embarrassed but couldn't bring themselves to apologize for the 55 minute wait. I wouldn't have had such an issue if our waitress had once come to see if we needed anything, explained the wait or even apologized. We will not be going back for dinner again. They should just close the restaurant for dinner service and only sell take out. I'm sure it isn't very profitable for the waitstaff since their tips have to be little to nothing. AWFUL. I came here on my anniversary. AND THE SERVICE I GOT WAS ASS. I came in, took a few minutes to get greeted, when there was only two other tables with customers. I was seated with my girlfriend and we got water right away, like we asked, five minutes pass and we still haven't had a waiter or waitress come to the table. Another five minutes. Nothing. Another five. Still nothing. At this point I was getting really fed up. Another couple was seated and got service right away and ordered their food, even though we had not had any service. The reason I'm not giving this a five star review...the food came out cold, typically a hot breakfast on a Sunday morning is preferable. Went there late night. Table was clean. Bathroom VERY cold, a few of my friends kept on bringing this up. I agree it was cold and dirty. Took the waiter 20 minutes to get my friends water. Took 30 minutes for my husband and friend to get their salads. Took 40 minutes to get refills and it was a lady who asked us if we needed refills, not our waiter. So did appreciate that part. I ate there the other day, sat at the bar...and the service was "okay." I thought the coffee was really good, and I decided that I wanted to go back there today for breakfast. Got there, sat at the bar, was the ONLY person at the bar, and waited 15 minutes before thinking I was just going to walk out. There were servers, EVERYWHERE. Three of them were rolling silverware, one stocked napkins RIGHT in front of me...Am I invisible? I was a server for many years at many different restaurants, so I know how this goes. You do not need three servers rolling silverware, 4 other standing around gawking in the server station, and people not being served at the bar which is CONVENIENTLY right there in front of everyone! We ate at Denny on Sunday in Rothschild and i ask for the stake well done and i said well done and some corn and the girlfriend had fish and corn and the grand kid had choc chip pancake will first they gave to pancakes on the wrong order and then just took them off the plate and put it on another plate and when we got are food my stake was not even closed to well done it was red as hell and the corn it was shit and they want to recook it and i said it should of been cook right the first time and i told them i am not paying for my meal the mgr would not even come to our table and talk with me she keep sending the waiter over and she said they take $5 off the bill and i told them i not paying one penny for my meal well they took it off the bill after about 15 min me telling them i not going to pay for it then in the car my girlfriend tell me her fish didn't taste good and her corn taste like shit to that we never ate it. It is in a word, Denny's. They welcome people to sit and talk, eat and leave, or enjoy a group meal. It not fresh as it is a lot of processed and heated. The kitchen staff doesn't always get it right, but they will correct it if you ask. Nice atmosphere, and kid friendly. They try and its nice, but not stellar. read more

I had breakfast this morning at Denny's. Needless to say for how many servers, waitresses and in general employees that were working this morning, to the amount of people that were in the restaurant (maybe 7 customers) my experience was the worst. The orders are rarely correct. The standard Denny's items are sub-par compared to other Denny's. While you get a single waitress that provides superior service, most of them are too busy socializing - with each other - to notice their customers. Concerns sent to management are ignored. Have given this location several tries. Last night we waited to be seated, waited for beverages, waited for food - it was ridiculous, considering there were only 4 tables with diners and about 7 waitresses.
