    Turkey & Dressing Dinner
    tina a.

The reviews were not good but my visit was surprisingly good. My friend had the nachos and she said they were great. I got the turkey dinner. It was really good. The turkey was juicy, mashed potatoes were spot on and that garlic toast was crunchy and flavorful. The service wasn't great tho. There was one girl at the counter who was having an issue with something about the customer trying to pay. We stood there for more than five minutes and finally my friend asked if we could be seated. I understand she was busy with someone, but there should be someone else who can step in and seat us. Once we sat down, we waited another five or 10 minutes for someone to come take our order. We almost got up and left, but I'm glad we didn't. Once we ordered the food came fast and it was really good. If you are traveling and want to stop for a a bite consider this Denny's

So I go into Denny's on my way to other celebration for my birthday activities for the day. I asked the guy server if he would tell me which meal is included with the grand slam birthday breakfast he said that they don't do that anymore unless I have a coupon so I looked on my app and he looked up my app and found my coupon so I ordered my food. The skies energy level is at a one the girl that's bouncing all over the rest of the restaurant has a nice high energy. Glad to see what can I give you? How can I add to your breakfast, she gave the gentleman in a $.99 ad on something that I probably could've used instead of a $4.99 sourdough order extra to dip my eggs in which when I got my eggs, they were flipped over easy however they were raw still in the middle of both. I switched that out for a scrambled egg which by then my taste buds were already off. I just have to say that this visit to Denny's on Main Street in Santa Maria was a sad birthday meal.

Waitress was nice, kind, and helpf The food was hot and fresh pancakes were great. Their service was good. I recommend Denny's for breakfast.

    Sr Country Fried Steak plate

Went for breakfast this past weekend. Around 7 am.Since I wanted French Toast , I ordered from the regular menu. ( NOT the Sr Menu) There were only three other customers at the time. So, don't get why my food was cold. The sausages were on the cold side.Hash browns lukewarm and French toast the same. Sausages are like Tootsie rolls. And the Bacon is the THIN already pre- made style. I know about the bacon, as I use it occasionally . They cooked a replacement breakfast which was better. *** Also don't understand why they give you three plates for this breakfast. Awkward to eat from. Cost at $23. 4 stars as food was cold, but fixed. Dennys has been my favorite for many years for Breakfast, at other cities that I have lived. Just going to stick to the Sr Breakfasts, less pricey.

Still polite and quick service with a casual ambiance and though many wouldn't think it since we don't expect it, some of the best burgers in town. I know I used to always think of them for their breakfast foods or more sit down diner foods. Their Smash burgers are crispy and juicy with awesome variety (bourbon, classic etc.) You can also order with them thru door dash as either Denny's or the burger den.

I ordered the Loaded Veggies Omelet with hash browns and pancakes. It was an enjoyable meal from sit down to paying the associate. Just like I was here 30 years ago. I guess I miss nostalgia. I guess too being in the pandemic you miss things. Service was excellent, I loved the hash browns and catchup best. Vegetables was savory in every bite along with the cheese and egg, I should of ordered links on the side. I need to go out more.

The current "customer service" of companies these days can be deplorable and my recent stay at Santa Maria Inn ("Historic" or not) sadly proved the lack of service or even trying . In fact, Customer Service was what was missing. For a special trip to see a family member, I drove my elderly mom up from Los Angeles for a one night visit to Santa Maria and chose The Historic Santa Maria Inn in order to keep the money going to a local family business and not a corporation (Hilton, Wyndham etc). My whole family had stayed at this hotel about two decades ago and it was fine. So I booked for a Saturday night (a month or so ago). I requested an ADA room since my 97 yr old Mom would be in a wheelchair. When we arrived, there was a short line and there was only one person working the front desk. Very long wait time to check in. They said they were sold out and we were not getting an ADA room. (My Mom's wheelchair couldn't fit through the little doorway to the bathroom.) And the room was COLD. We couldn't find the remote for the air/heat on the wall and the thermostat was locked. We called for a manager. No manager in house. We asked for maintenance to unlock the thermostat. They left for the night as well. A sold out weekend and anyone who could do anything EFFECTIVE was no where to be found! Needless to say that the night with my Mom was scary and very uncomfortable. No heat or any way to warm the room besides opening our door and dropping our luggage to hold it open. They brought blankets. That is all we were offered during our stay. On Sunday morning I told my Mom that there was no way we were going to have breakfast there (as I had promised her) and as i was carrying all of our luggage, accessories and pushing my Mom's wheelchair to the elevator, a young worker offered to help. He pushed my Mom and got us into the elevator and down to the lobby. He was kind and helpful, something we had not experienced during the night we arrived. His name was, no surprise when I asked him,"Christian." I said he was aptly named and thanked him for the only hospitality that we experienced during our stay, unfortunately we were headed out the door. I don't understand how any management can think they are serving their customers like this. Surely, they can provide assistance, management on sold out weekends and offer air conditioners and heaters that work. Sadly, that was my last stay at this hotel. I had a truly horrible experience. I only gave the highlights.

I usually order the Kay's Orcutt Original with eggs, home fries (or hash browns), and a choice of meat, so I've had the same breakfast enough times to notice the changes over the years. My biggest gripe is the inconsistency. The eggs don't seem to be the same quality they used to be, but the biggest disappointment has been the potatoes. Their home fries used to be the best I've ever had. They were one of the main reasons I kept coming back. Now, it feels like you never know what you're going to get. More often than not they're undercooked, leaving the potatoes hard in the middle. On the rare occasion I mention it, the replacement usually comes back overcooked instead. It's frustrating because all I'm hoping for is the perfectly cooked home fries they used to be known for. I can't quite put my finger on everything that's changed, but the overall quality just doesn't feel as consistent as it once was. The food is still pretty good, and that's why I continue to support them, but I definitely find myself coming less often than I used to. This place used to knock it out of the park almost every visit. I genuinely hope they can get back to that level because I'd love to see one of my longtime favorite breakfast spots thrive again.

Before the server could get us our iced teas our food was ready. It's super cute inside...can't wait to come back and enjoy the sit down restaurant. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Large alcoholic choice of drinks... really wanted that spicy Mary but since we were in a rush stuck with iced tea. The only 1 minute drive back to the gun range in Santa Maria was grueling smelling that gravy... We were both were thrilled at the large portions. It was amazing! I love gravy and could have used a little bit more but honestly I think it was fine for a normal person plus remember we go to go order so I suspect it soaked up a little on the drive. The staff threw in pepper and Tapatio which the hubs loves. I had Yellow Bird Blue Agave Sriracha in my travel trailer and used a little on it. OMG! It was so good! The potatoes had a nice crunch on them. That gravy was amazing. The biscuit was great, had a bite and saved the rest for later. The hubs managed to eat his whole plate and was stuffed! I might have eaten 1/4 of mine saving it for later. We will for sure be back!

The oak grilled open faced rib-eye sandwich was absolutely incredible. I'm not exaggerating when I say it had more flavor than Wolfgang Puck's CUT. The rib-eye was perfectly cooked to the medium temperature I requested, tender enough to bite through without a knife, and seasoned exactly the way Santa Maria style beef should be. So many places are too conservative with the seasoning these days, but they got it just right. Even the bread underneath the steak was perfect. It didn't even need salsa, but of course I tried it both ways. Honestly? I couldn't decide which I liked better because the sandwich was outstanding on its own. We also ordered the linguiça appetizer with garlic bread. The linguiça had that slight char from the grill that gives it so much flavor, and the mustard served alongside it was the perfect pairing. My mom ordered the prime rib sandwich with grilled onions and chose the 50/50 fries and grilled onions. The only minor criticism I have is that it wasn't quite a true 50/50 and could have used a few more grilled onions. Other than that, it was delicious. The pinquito beans have a little kick, so if you're sensitive to spice, keep that in mind. Personally, I wouldn't change a thing. The whole meal took me right back to growing up in the Santa Maria Valley cruising Broadway on Saturday while the entire town smelled like oak fired Santa Maria barbecue. We cook a lot at home, and we're pretty serious about our beef, so eating steak at restaurants is usually disappointing because very few places compare. That's why I was so impressed today. This wasn't just a good sandwich.. it was one of the best rib-eye sandwiches I've ever had. To whoever was running the grill today: outstanding job. You absolutely nailed it. I'll be thinking about that sandwich for a long time.

The glass of water tasted dirty. Mimosa's orange juice was weak horrible not real juice. I was so embarrassed and sad for this restaurant. When they got rid of the buffet we were so excited to see a menu brunch. The service and the waitress with the long pointed nails and pink hair was so unprofessional. We sat for at least 1/2 half our befor we had to ask for our bill. Will not return anytime soon. Show less
