It was tender, flavorful, and actually looked like it came from a cow instead of a lab experiment. The eggs were cooked exactly how I ordered them, which shouldn't be noteworthy but somehow is these days. The hashbrowns were crispy, well-cooked, and managed the rare feat of not doubling as a sponge for a gallon of fryer oil. The only hiccup was our server, who apparently had an active restraining order against our table. Drink refills and check-ins were few and far between. Thankfully, the rest of the staff noticed we had been abandoned and jumped in to save the day. They kept the coffee flowing and made sure we had everything we needed. In the end, the food was excellent, the rest of the staff picked up the slack, and I left full, happy, and already thinking about what I'll order next time. I wish I could get my $40 back because that food wasn't even worth $10 This place used to be so good and now it's gone downhill bad.

Great sodas, and wine and beer available in another part of their yard. Bob's well bread has great huevos rancheros. Norman's has Chilequilles from time to time and fancy tacos. In a town known for its cuisine and beverage go somewhere that you will experience the food in incredible settings, don't go to this old shit hole on the end of town. The staff threw in pepper and Tapatio which the hubs loves. I had Yellow Bird Blue Agave Sriracha in my travel trailer and used a little on it. OMG! It was so good! I usually order the Kay's Orcutt Original with eggs, home fries (or hash browns), and a choice of meat, so I've had the same breakfast enough times to notice the changes over the years. My biggest gripe is the inconsistency. The eggs don't seem to be the same quality they used to be, but the biggest disappointment has been the potatoes. Their home fries used to be the best I've ever had. They were one of the main reasons I kept coming back. Now, it feels like you never know what you're going to get. More often than not they're undercooked, leaving the potatoes hard in the middle. On the rare occasion I mention it, the replacement usually comes back overcooked instead. It's frustrating because all I'm hoping for is the perfectly cooked home fries they used to be known for. I can't quite put my finger on everything that's changed, but the overall quality just doesn't feel as consistent as it once was. The food is still pretty good, and that's why I continue to support them, but I definitely find myself coming less often than I used to. This place used to knock it out of the park almost every visit. I genuinely hope they can get back to that level because I'd love to see one of my longtime favorite breakfast spots thrive again.

I don't know why (except I've order plenty of Chicken Sandwiches from other local eateries) but the Sliders weren't as satiating as a "meal" on their own. Perhaps I was expecting too much...after all, they are clearly labeled as "sliders" (not sandwiches) on the menu boards. With the tab being over $15 dollars, I also felt the Slider(s) a bit lacking in the "value" factor. No cutting it in half for a second meal...oh well.
