I was in the Tucumcari, NM Flying J and I was going to eat at the Denny's there until I caught the putrid smell of feces. As we were deciding what to do I heard the employees of flying J say that Dennys was flooding with "Poop water" and that the Assistant Manager refused to close the restaurant to clean it up and that the water was coming up from 4 seperate areas. That it had invaded on the cookline and the server line. The assistant manager Penny was demanding that the employees work in those conditions and what worse was that they serve food made in those conditions to customers and that the customers and employees needed to "suck it up because the smell was just like changing a diaper." Denny's is one of my favorite restaurants and whenever we travel we always stop at Dennys so I can get my Bourbon Burger fix. That won't be happening anymore. I was so disgusted by the smell and to hear what the Assistant manager was putting customers and their staff through. When Penny wouldn't close to fix the problem and clean, the county enforcement, New Mexico Department of Health, OSHA, fire department and BBB were called by an employee who was told the had to work and refused to. At this point I heard the mgr Penny yell that an employee that needed to be fired for making those calls. The employees and other customers at Flying J were all disgusted and unable to understand how this woman would force staff to work in these conditions and serve contaminated food to customers. Apparently no upper management (District Manager) felt the need to step in and back up the employees or customers. read more

well never ran across this before i have to set in a chair not a bench , they wouldn't allow it because the were short staff ! the waiter still have to come out regardless , but then they made an exception for a family regardless of the issue were it still an exception, i guess medical issue is not allow in denny's restaurant, i received back injuries in combat why this even become an issue , it not my fault they were short handed read more

Chicken from a gas station you may think? Well don't knock it until you've tried it. It's tender, seasoned just right and always fresh. It also doesn't cost an arm and a leg and in my opinion is much less sketchy than snarfing a burger from a truck stop off the freeway. Just sayin.
