Stopped here on our way to CA. Having the cranberry and orange glazed pancakes with bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Oh my goodness those pancakes are the bomb!! Yummy. Atmosphere is relaxing and noise is at a minimum. The service is very attentive. Prices are very reasonable. The place is clean and up to date. We will be coming back. read more

We just ate here. The food was good but the service ... oh my gosh. We had to ask for our drinks again after our meal was served. Our original server disappeared. Never saw her again. We waited at the front to pay - no one in sight. Staying at the hotel next door and decide on an easy location for dinner.. there was one server working Joseph L.. he was working the whole floor alone so it took him a few minutes to get to me.. just had a to go order but he came running over as soon as he was able to.. The waitress can remember her name that how impressed i was and she took us to a booth and ask what we would like to drink we told her, and she left our table and never came back. A group of 4 older people came in and she went to there table she went right to there table and asked them what they wanted to drink and came right back with it. She asked them what they wanted to drink and went and got it and then asked them if they were ready to order and took there order. I spoke up and said we were ready to order and she went off on me and she told us that she did not seat us and did not come over to take our order i did call her a name and she was what I called her. I made a comment to my wife and she heard me and said if i was going to call her names that i could leave or she would call the police and have me removed. We sat there and decided to leave and as i was walking out i did say by the you are a bitch and she told me to get the F_ck out of her f_cking restaurant. Waited over 20 min to get into the place , the host was a real airhead , arguing with the waitresses in front of customers , waitresses yelling at cooks , foul languages being used , 3 waitresses only one was on the ball , lost my order after 20 more minutes came out and re took my order there was another 15 min for my soup to come out host had to refill my drink , bus boy ? I think Jerry was not sure all he did was walk around the store 6 times only cleared 2 tables ? , FOOD : sandwich was dry Turkey over cooked bacon burnt , fries hard as a rock , soup was old and had crust in it . In the time I sat there for a little ove an hour 28 people were turned away they even barricaded the front entrance and told people they were closed ?. I have been to Denny's all over the country and you think it's just Denny's. But the Denny's here in Tucamari NM was an amazing find! The food is top notch! So delicious! Hands down the worst dining experience Iv ever had. I was traveling through the area on a road trip and this place was the only thing opened. Horrible choice. The entire restaurant was dirty and I stress DIRTY. The waitstaff was ridiculously slow and forgetful. Half our order was never taken down which resulted in it never being brought to our table. Despite being understaffed, literally two ladies taking care of register and a dining room full of travelers and truckers, our hostess Shirley and our waitress Phyllis did a fantastic job taking care of our lunch. It was delicious. They were quick! Got us in, seated, fed, and checked out in a timely manner to get back on the road! This Flying J is a high traffic truck stop and under construction, inside and out. The crew is taking it all in stride. We have been here multiple times recently and they have all been friendly and professional, even when faced with understaffing, supply issues, and frustrated, aggrevated customers. Stopped in Tucumcari after a long haul from California. My dog was tired, I was tired too, but also starving. Since we arrived into town rather late, Denny's was my only 24/7 choice. I was interested what I might find based on the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. I was seated immediately. (Yay!) Waitress came right when I was ready to order. My hot chocolate was HOT! (It's still hot now after I finished my meal and am typing this review.) I orders the T-bone steak and eggs because I was starving and it was REALLY GOOD. I ate everything. I would have chewed on the bone but I try to act halfway civil when eating in public. Thank you Denny's in Tucumcari. I am no longer hungry and can now sleep oh so good. We ate T this Denny's as we were passing through on vacation. The location is perfect for our needs. The resteraunt had just reopened after a remodel. Awe were created so warmly, we felt like family. Our server, Melanie rocked. She had just the perfect blend of attentiveness, sass, warmth and joy. Our food rocked. We had a huge salad, seracha burger assad a California club with the "omg" best bacon, cheddar tots. The managers, Sherly and Ana came by to check in and chat with us. The place is beautiful and interesting and it's a Denny's. Loved it...recommend it highly. read more

Curbside Order - phone wasn't working according to hostess and she said they don't offer curbside even though it's on the website. No big deal, we went in and waited 20min to even talk to someone. we were missing a house salad with avocado add-on. Waited 15min. Got back to hotel and they had given us some old soggy lettuce and shredded cheese. Nothing else!!! Someone there said day shift was on it but the skeleton crew at 6p apparently didn't. I usually do not like Denny's. All the one's back home are gross and should be closed down. This Denny's however was very good. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was great. I had the Chicken and Chrizo breakfast skillet and it was awesome. I would of liked to of had a little more chrizo in the dish but overall this was a great breakfast. read more

Figured Denny's should be as consistent a dining experience as you can find anywhere, so opted for this over other nighttime options. Big mistake. Stunned that staff would ignore three groups of people waiting to be seated and just walk away. Only 3-4 tables occupied in the restaurant. Still 30 mins to get seated. Then waitress slowly took orders, with at least two (minor but meaningful) mistakes. Then took bill up to register to pay only to hear two employees discussing issues they'd had picking up tips and then see them walk away from the three groups waiting to pay, with the one from the register instead casually wiping down unoccupied tables for another 5+ minutes as we waited by the register. (Still only 3-4 tables occupied in the whole restaurant.) Eventually decided it was time to help us, I guess, so came over and rang us up with no acknowledgment of the wait or issues. Food acceptable, but service crazy poor--90 mins there with over half of it spent standing around unacknowledged. read more

Denny's is now on Mountain Rd just off the Freeway in the truckstop. New place. menu has been upgraded. I had the prime rib cob salad....quite good (for Denny's). however the service is the worst. order came quickly but could not get our waitress to give us the check or take our money.
