If I could give this place a negative star I would (1 star is too good)!...I only go to dennys for the free birthday glam slam....the hostess claimed it was invalid, saying my bday is 6/29....my birthday is 6/6! The coupon is good UNTIL 6/29! Also, while I waited, I noticed that on another diners to go order they charged him for two eggs and only got one! Another had a promo added, which they didn't include and therefore had to reenter his order. Another said to get scrambled eggs and got fried eggs and they were cold (yet another not coming back)...claimed staffing issue!....still been waiting for manager "who went out back" to fix issue...been over 45 min! Stopped in here to meet someone and decided to go ahead and eat while I waited. Even though it was late at night, I opted to order breakfast because it is one of the better meals they prepare. Service was good and friendly. The restaurant was clean and tidy. They had three large screens behind the counter that could be seen from most tables and booths. Went on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't very busy as it is a pretty small location. There was 1 large party. We were greeted almost immediately and then the hostess started walking away without saying a word. We followed and as she set the menus down a waitress yelled across the restaurant 'you just sat me, put them somewhere else' so she walked us to a different table. We waited over 10 minutes for the other waitress to come to our table to acknowledge us and take our drink order. We also ordered food ( 3 burgers, fries, and onion rings) at this time as we had had enough time to make our selections. She brought our drinks then didn't come back. After 35 minutes I finally got her attention and when she came over I stated it had been 35 minutes since we ordered. She responded with 'I had a party of 14!' The large party had ordered before we sat and got their food shortly after we sat and at this point had ate and paid. So we asked for the check for our drinks. She stormed up to what I will assume in the manager and very animatedly said something. We then got up and headed towards the front of the restaurant and we're intercepted by said manager. She asked what was going on so we explained. She then asked if we wanted to move to that part of the restaurant and she would take care of us and gestured to a dirty table full of dishes. I had only been to a Denny's one other time in my life and that was a really long time ago so it was high time to go back. This particular location was as part of a truck stop in Walton Kentucky. I've heard some complaints over the years about the cleanliness of some Denny's restaurants but this one was definitely clean as a whistle. I got their famous Grand Slam breakfast which is just picking 4 breakfast items off of a list from the menu. I got pancakes, sausage, toast, and bacon. The bacon was good as was the sausage (both slightly above average flavour I'd say). It's weird to mention the toast as memorable but they buttered it better than any other breakfast joint I've seen (as a fat guy I've gotta say I love my butter). Even so the best part of my particular Slam was the pancakes which were fluffy and delicious. I wouldn't quite rank them as high as IHOP but they may be second as far as national chain restaurants go that I've tried. Also worth mentioning was it's affordability as the Grand Slam only costs 10.99 which is good. The service was very good as well and made this a very tasty breakfast. Husband and I on our way to Florida and stopped at Denny's for Breakfast . Walked in and we were immediately seated by very friendly hostess, brought us water and coffee. Andrea was our waitress and she was very friendly. Took our breakfast order and it was delivered to us in a timely fashion. Our meal was hot and tasty and hit the spot. Comparing this Denny's to the ones in Florida, you all need more customers and find out why everything is falling apart. No life at this place. Andrew and I hit up Denny's after a long drive to Cincinnati. We had an okay experience while here at 11pm. This location is also a truck stop, which explains the style of service. We were seated fairly quickly, but it took about 10-15 minutes for our waitress to greet us. When she got to our table, she asked "are you ready to order?" Andrew and I were both kinda shocked by the lack of introductions and friendliness. We placed our orders, she brought us our drinks, and we didn't see her again til she was ready to drop our check. I ordered a BYO Grand Slam, pancakes, scrambled eggs w/ cheese, bacon well done, hash browns, and an add-on biscuit, with a hot chocolate. Andrew ordered the lumberjack grand slam with a coffee. The main reason we picked Denny's was so Andrew could get his free birthday grand slam, but apparently they only do that via email now, so he changed to the lumberjack. The food took about 20 minutes to come out, but they had forgotten my pancakes. The food runner told me she didn't see them on the ticket and she'd ring it in. Those took an additional 10 minutes to come out. At some point, our waitress came back and asked if we were ready for our check, we said yes and asked for to go drinks. Overall, the food was okay and the restaurant had cool artifacts related to Cinci and trucking. However, the lack of feeling welcome will make this not our first choice. read more

It's joined to a Truck gas station which has a Truck wash on the side so you can imagine the mess since its located pretty much in the corner of a traffic light. I sent in a complaint while still at the Dennys Walton restaurant, but after checking out, I have more to add. I'll summarize again. I was torn between the CF Steak Dinner and the Meatloaf Dinner. I asked the server (Shandra C is what is on receipt) which I would choose, and she said the CF Steak, because "she didn't think the meatloaf was that good". I ordered a half order of Nachos as the appetizer, and the CF Steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli. Nachos arrive first and barely had any nacho meat sauce - there may have been 2 TSP of meat sauce, and a scant of tomatoes onions jalapenos and cheese. I actually asked to have additional meat sauce added. I was charged $1.99 for the additional meat which should have been on the appetizer to start! Even though it was a half order, I feel like the sauce, veggies and such should have been proportionate. I got 5-6 bites of the Nachos in - and here comes the entree - arent servers taught to time the meal after the appetizer has been nearly eaten? The CF Steak was cold, really over breaded and did not have a good taste. The broccoli and mashed potatoes were cold as well. When the server came around to check and asked how everything was, I told her CF Steak, potatoes and broccoli meal was cold and did not taste good. I asked her to bring a piece of the meatloaf which should have been my first choice. She did not offer to take the CF STeak off my meal and charged me another $5.99 for the meatloaf. The original receipt was $26.25! Half Nachos 5.49, add nacho meat $1.99, CFS Dinner $11.99 and Meatloaf $5.99 + 1.49 tax = $26.25 I asked for boxes and went to checkout. The same server was the cashier. So not only is she handling money, she is handling food. I asked her to please remove the CF Steak Entree, that it was over-breaded, cold and just did not taste good. She had to have the manager override the CF Steak. Once the manager (male - salt & pepper hair, mustache, no name tag, button-down shirt, and jeans - not Denny's shirt) comes to the cash register area and asks if I did not like the CF Steak. I said yes, it was cold and did not taste good, and he had the nerve to say, "didn't like it but you are taking it with you?" I replied, that yes, I am taking to feed it to my dogs. I mean really, he is going to argue with the customer? How rude and totally unacceptable! In addition, a couple that sat in the table behind me also had issues that went unresolved. My final bill was eventually reduced from $26.25 to $16.85 so the manager did remove the CF Steak dinner from the bill. Order #684689. In addition to the food issues, I honestly am astounded by the manager's comments and attitude that I was doing something wrong. You could sense his aggravation with me, but I stood my ground. I did tip my server about 20% even though she should have taken better care of her customers. Believe me, I will copy and paste this review and shout it out to all the Restaurant Review sites that I can find. What terrible food, and terrible service. #DennysWaltonKYDont# read more

We're heading to VA and stopped for breakfast. System was down, one of the waitress stated we can't sit because we can't place orders online. Tiffany was great, she was very patient and understanding with customer while they're were frustrated that they couldn't pay! She also sat us down for at least coffee and explained we can't order food just yet, which was appreciated. Tiffany was calm and wonderful throughout the entire time. Stopped by the one in Walton, KY with my husband for supper and I ordered the chicken fried chicken. What I got was slightly burnt chicken with some type of powdery water on top. I asked the waitress what it was and she said oh it comes with gravy to which I replied yeah I know I eat at a lot of Dennys ( we're truckdrivers) but I ain't never seen this. She said that's what there's looks like sometimes( well then sometimes the cook don't know how to make gravy duh) She then said she could ask them to remake it without gravy but wasn't sure they would. I told her I might as well keep it then. I tried to eat it but that mess was gross, even scraping it off didn't help. Wasted money as I got a cup of noodles and ate that in the truck. Simply terrible. Place just needs to close down. Out of most items or condiments and they are extremely understaffed - the people they have working are rude and incompetent. Pricing on the bill is different from their menu and when I inquired about it at checkout they told me the menus were old/outdated. Also got charged for items we didn't order and when I asked to have them removed the girl walked away and asked someone else to do it because apparently she didn't want to be bothered with correcting it. So we're driving home from Michigan to Tennessee and was wanting a good sit down place, and we seen the sign for Denny's. We go in and sit down and we order drinks. Unsweet was extremely sour, and when I told the waitress she says really is it and starts to walk away, I ask for water instead. By the time she brings the water we are ready to order, but she just sets the water down and walks away. My husband says he'll give her 2 minutes to come back. She just barely best the 2 minute timer. We order our meals and I ask for some lemons for my water. She walks by us several times but never brings the lemons so my husband stops her and said that I had ordered lemons, and she got snotty and said yes you'll have to wait a minute. Ordered meat lovers slam: all 3 pieces of bacon weren't cooked so I didn't bother eating it; all 3 sausage links weren't crisp on the outside but looked cooked inside, the over easy eggs were ok (not farm fresh and small) but had raw white in a few spots; both pancakes were perfect, not too brown. Didn't use the fake maple syrup but used the fake butter. Really wanted to like the food but the cook for the third time doesn't cook well. Servers are awesome. I've tipped them each time. read more
