Keeps getting worse! My friends and I get out of work late, and there are only so many places still open. We have had the okay meals before, & okay service...but tonite was the worst! We all ordered TBone steaks, all medium rare..one was cooked correctly, one was medium, & mine was so done I couldn't eat it...told the waitress. She said she would have them make me a new one. Took 10 min., till it got put in the window for pick up, under these heat lamps...which I watched the clock and it sat 7 more min., in which that steak is cooking more setting under those heaters! The waitress never came back in those 17 min to check on anyone else, refill coffee or nothing! By the time she came back again! With steak, it was drying out and cooking itself! Ugh! She got the manager! I was about to walk out! I told her well, I am thirsty! And 2 steaks were not prepared the way I ordered. I told how long I watched that steak sit under that heat lamp, and how you can't leave a medium rare steak under those heat lamps for 7 min.! She said she understood and would take it off the bill! SHE brought me a coffee!!....And the waitress didn't bring our bill for another 20 min! I have worked in different restaurants...you either need more servers, or cross train someone to run food.. However, that waitress wasn't with it...at least, tonight wasn't her night. If you are having customers food set that long... something needs to change..I know how it is, I felt bad for her, but I am paying for something I want it right. read more

A great place for late night grub. It's diner food by whole. So not really for calorie counting. The staff is quite friendly and the people watching is great fun late night. read more

5am Monday morning decided to give Denny's a try, walked in and was greeted by our beautiful attentive waitress Sunshine, now usually when I go out to eat there's always something that ends up bad... If the waitress is good then the food is blah but if the waitress is blah then the food is good..not this time, everything from the time we entered to the time we left was PERFECT. Very nice menu and sunshine was able to help me choose and it was a perfect choice. Bacon Gouda burger gravy fries and my daughter had the T-bone steak red potato's and bread stix. We also tried loaded tots. Wow...only way to describe it..Heaven in your mouth. The steak put every steak I ever ate in my life to shame. Seriously when I said perfect I meant it! And if I could've kissed the cook I would have. Great job all around. Can't wait to go back to Wilkes barre to enjoy another meal and a little sunshine. read more

Kinda dirty. Food is what is to be expected of a Dennys. Had to flag my waitress down to get the bill, in her defense, she was busy. I would go to a mom and pop diner instead if I had the option. Coffee was terrible! No amount of milk or sugar couldve saved the coffee and it was 2.50 for 8oz. Skip it and go to a diner. Your stomach will thank you. read more

Well this is my first yelp review, so I'll be nice. This trip to Denny's was pretty good. I got the double cheese burger without specifying how I wanted it cooked but they brought it to me medium well and that's why it wasn't five stars. I usually like to lean toward medium for my burgers. Daimyun was a fantastic server and a good sport when I asked him if they had any "unshaven ham." read more

Attention anyone that goes to Denny's in Wilkes Barre our Beloved Ish (Awesome) was let go because his mom was in the hospital in ICU this was a heartless act to a dedicated employee that everyone loved and respected. Many of my bands, friends and family go there instead of Perkins because of his 5 star service and his ability to turn eating a Denny's a wonderful pleasant experience. Please take a moment and send a compliant to the main headquarters website and request his reinstatement. I ask you please join me in this to get him back there. I personally and my friends will not go back until he is back. I guess we will be having our meetings at Perkins till further notice. Please like and leave a comment about an experience you have had with him at Denny's so we can forward it to them to show them what a colossal mistake they have made. I don't know if Denny's has stepped their game up recently or what, but I've been to this location 3 times in the past 2 months and I haven't had a bad meal yet. their burgers are seriously delicious and the desserts are super cheap and really good. the wait staff on weeknights after 12 are absolute rockstars. I hope the managers are proud. read more

Is it me. My fiance purchased breakfast for me about a week ago and it was great. So today 1/14/2015 I had taste for the Frensh Toast Breakfast. I waited 20 mins for my order, while the staff just walked around talking, playing & etc. with no regards for their customers'. I sat patiently waiting for my order and then when the cashier rang up my order she had the nerve to ask if I wanted to leave a tip. Of course my response was no, but I wish I would have looked at my food before I left because my food looked so sloppy and the hash brown were not browned at all. I guess they said the hell with the take out order and just threw it in the container. Very disappointed with my order. I advise people to dine in because at least you know it would look more presentable!! Very Displeased!! read more

Stopped here as we traveled home from and Nick waited on us so kindly and professionally. We noticed a staff member was wiping down (scrubbing!) each of the legs of every chair and we commented on their cleanliness. Nick told us they do a deep clean every WEEK, including the overhead lights! The food was excellent, especially the whole grain pancakes. Great food. Great prices. Good price. Often packed with nowhere to park but oh well I love Dennys!

My son and I waited quiet a while to be seated. As soon as we were seated, we ordered our food, left the kiddy menu on the table and went to the bathroom to wadh our hands. When we came out, the waitress told me she gave our seats away, "Is it okay for us to sit somewhere else?" I said, no it is not okay. They didn't care. Let me say that our waitress was fine. If she'd had us to breakfast at her house, I'm sure it would have been lovely. This restaurant's been here for as long as I can remember (30+ years), and I can't imagine why. I think every surface we touched was greasy. The coffee tasted terrible. I left hungry. We're a regular at Denny's wherever we travel, kids love it. However, last couple of visits at this Denny's in Wilkes Barre has changed my perception on Denny's. The service and cleanliness is deteriorating. The recent dining experience was bad and I hope the management will consider this review as a constructive criticism. As we walked in, we were offered a booth close to the restrooms and it was stinking bad. We requested to be seated towards the other side and the lady at the counter was kind enough to find a booth. The table was wet and sticky enough not to rest our arms on it. My wife always carries wet/dry tissues for kids and we had to not only clean the water off the table but also the syrup and other food residue. Even the sides of the booth were sticking to my shirt (could be syrup). It was a long wait for the food which finally arrived with few things missing; wasn't offered a coffee refill and my wife had to wait for a side of fruits which never came. The waitress was nice but kept forgetting, maybe she was stressed. I still tipped her nice bcos they depend on it. My strong belief is that a restaurant not clean outside won't maintain their kitchen clean either. read more

This is the lowest rating that it will allow me to give. Service was the worst of seen. My wife ordered blueberry pancakes: one pancake had 4 distinct blueberries and the other only one. What she asked the waitress she said they use a level spoon and then walked away. Had to flag the hostess staff to get things as the waitress was no where to be found. Food quality was the lowest I have ever had at a Denny's. No manager was to be seen. Definitely will never visit this location again. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful. I go there often, usually several times a month. The waiters and waitresses are extremely nice, talkative, and know the menu really well. The food is great. Also, try the Cherry Cherry Limeade! It's one of the best drinks you'll ever have! read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I went there with my husband the waitress basically threw my plate at me and my steak was pale looking and dripping what looked like water there was hair in my mashed potatoes and all they did was offer to recook the steak and take the mashed potatoes after finding the hair in it. When we first walked in my husband made a big deal because he saw the cook come from smoking a cigarette outside go into the kitchen and without washing his hands pick up bacon with his bare hands and throw it on the grill . Then the manager on duty tried to lie and say he wasn't just outside but they were both outside together when we were walking in the door. WILL NEVER GO BACK!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!! read more
