You know what? This Denny's really brought their A-game. You can't go wrong with a big old plate of eggs and hash browns. I had the chicken fried steak which aside from the bland gravy was really pretty good. We got good service too. I ate at this "Denny's" in Woodburn, OR on 8/16/2012. It was my first time there. I had one of their special sandwiches which came with mashed potatoes and gravy --- it was outstanding as was the service here. read more

I received great service today. I ate a club sandwich and fries. That was really good.

I am rating this as a Denny's not a 5 star restaurant. I was apprehensive about having dinner in a Denny's but I did not have a car and it was my only option. I walked in and was promptly seated. I ordered the senior chicken fried steak. It came with a choice of salad, vegetables, and potato of choice. It also came with 2 rolls. I ordered a glass of wine. The service was VERY good. The restaurant was clean. My food fresh and hot. Salad was crisp! Wow a Denny's? YEP! I would come back. There are on the stick here! read more

Omg I dont know if i am just hungry or the food is actually good, but i am really close to lick my fingers lol first time in this place and im giving 5 stars! My family and I came to dennys to have a nice breakfast and when we got seated the server was super rude. She looked very annoyed and it was that she did not want to be there. The wait to get our food was too long and we arrived at 10:30 and ended up eating at around 11:20. I will definitely not be coming back for a while. read more

This is terrible it took 1:30 hours get our food was freezing could. Customer service was awful. Food was full of grease and undercooked.

Sitting at the counter watching the staff and this place runs like a well oiled machine. Had a breakfast skillit and it was delicious.

Not disappointed. Wife and I stopped by at midnight, ordered some food, they put into very sturdy to go box, and it was delicious! Can't ask for much more than that. read more

Typical Denny's selection and quality. I generally view it as 'the weary traveller's quick and inexpensive re-fuel'. Food was as good as one can expect from a Denny's anywhere and the service was quite good. However, it was a pretty quiet night so can't speak to the 'norm'. Only negative I can give is the horrendously planned maze that is the parking lot but I don't think the Denny's ownership had much say in that so I won't fault them for it. read more

Living in Woodburn give very little choice in eating out unless you want Mexican Food (which by the way, is the best here). I really wanted a veggie burger and good fries but didn't want to drive to Wilsonville so we went to Denny's for our first time. We've been living here a year and a half and I just assumed it was an old restaurant and not good. We were so pleasantly surprised! The greeting was warm and the restaurant is clean! The waiter was attentive, friendly and efficient. My veggie burger was delicious and the fries were extra crispy as I asked. My husband said his turkey sandwich was delicious, also. The most inept Manager (Sharon) I've ever dealt with, who sat us in the lounge to eat with the worst waitress (Shanon) I've ever had wait on me. Elmer's is across the way, much easier to get to, and trust me, they could have Apes serving you still Elmer's and the service would be better. EVEN though Sharon (the manager) caught Shanon (the lounge waitress) lying about our meal, and knew if the poor service, she did NOTHING. I left without eating, and will never return. I never eat at Denny's. I usually try to find the greasiest hole in the wall when I want a spike in my lipids. So at the beginning of our trip when David asked if we could eat at one I grudgingly agreed to it. We went to one in Woodburn Oregon right off I-5 on on exit 271. It was Sunday. I immediately noticed a long line of mainly Hispanic families with well behave kids dressed to the nines. Inside the crew was almost 100% Hispanic, speaking Spanish and working as a team. All dressed and groomed perfectly. We sat at the counter and watched the cooks. I've been short order cook in a previous life. These guys were the most efficient I have ever seen. Would have struggled competing with these guys. The servers were attentive and were willing to change the menu for special diets, including paleo. The place was spotless and the food rivaled the best breakfasts I have experienced. Perfect hash browns with onion, eggs actually over-medium, fresh sides etc. I write this because I thought of the place thru out our trip this week. And then it dawned on me - this is what part of what America was like when it was "great". Proud families dressed in their Sunday best for a meal out. Pride in your appearance and work habits. A spirit to business that made you feel like a customer instead of a hindrance to make money on. America was greater when we had the influx of European immigrants that brought my Grandparents and it's greater now with the Hispanic immigrants. I had dinner here this evening with my husband, 3 kids and my nephew. After being seated by an unfriendly young lady we then waited a long time before our waiter came to take our order. Our waiter was a young man that was not at all friendly or personable(like I think wait staff should be) and we could hardly hear him when he was speaking. We ordered and my husband and the kids all got their food pretty quickly, with the exception of mixing up one of the kids orders. My food(a breakfast burrito) came ten minutes after everyone else at my table....I find that to be very poor service on the kitchen staff as well as the waiter because when I saw it come up in the window he let it sit and brought food to another table first. We also ordered a side of bacon which the waiter forgot so we had to remind him and he brought it to us cold and the ends were raw...I refused to pay for the bacon. The rest of the food was alright for the most part. When we were finished we had to wait another 15 minutes before the waiter ever came to give us our check. I am in general a big tipper but tonight I left no tip, I will not return to this Denny's ever (I'm from Keizer so I'm local). I am surprised at places that have such bad service...when the service is so poor it doesn't matter if the food is good. read more

I have been here when the summer break. The reason is we travel to Seattle, and we know there is a rose festival in Portland, Oregon. We drive to Woodburn and find a hotel. The time is a little late, there are not too much restaurants to choose. The food is good, but some staffs can't speak English. read more

I'm at Denny's right now & I just had to review it. We got seated & got our drinks first, it's kind of empty not a lot of people. We waited around 15 minutes for someone to take our order & my boyfriend had to ask if someone could take our order or else we probably would still be waiting. Got sick before I left the restaurant, traveling from Wa. to Ca. Stopped for food. Big mistake. And it was so clean. My husband and I were very patient about the slooow service. Glad we were on our way home and not starting our vacation. Oregon does have very nice rest stops, we HAD to stop at most of them. Never again will we eat at Denny's. Sub par at best. We came during the week and had a decent experience however tonight (Friday) we returned and ordered the same thing only to discover that when they get busier they get sloppy, very sloppy. Our waitress came by our table and took our order and that was basically the only time we seen her other than when she quickly dropped our food on the table however she never brought my partners orange juice. We ate slowly and she never returned the whole time. We had to stand up and tell the front desk what we ordered when we were finally done waiting to see if our waitress was going to return. If you are not Hispanic do not expect equal treatment, we definitely felt like a minority but that is to be expected in Woodburn. During the week when it's not too buisy it's not too bad but we probably won't be returning anytime soon after tonight. The food tasted fine, the service was just beyond poor. read more

Great for brunch. They serve breakfast all day and you can put together pretty much whatever you like. I like the red potatoes in place of hash browns and I like how flexible the menu is. My daughter and I go there often. We are not early morning people and they have a full breakfast menu for those of us who still want brunch at 11:30. Lol read more

So this is how my day has been going first I went to a basketball game from a team I got cut from. Then some old lady frames me for throwing peanut butter crackers and everyone gets pissed at me. At this point I haven't eaten for roughly 8 hours. After the basketball game we decided to go and get something to eat. We went to Denny's. That's was one of the worst decisions of my life. I ordered a country fried medium rare steak with over easy eggs. When my meal came I got a t bone steak that was over cooked and dry like everyone's personality there. My eggs were scramble. My toast was actuallybut how do you mes up toast. If I wanted to get a t bone steak why would I got Denny's. I would rather get Boned but a guy name "t" than ever go to Denys again. Thank for being amazingly terrible good bye. Everything added up to this and which is why I am probably so salty in the first place or mabey it's because they added extra salt to my tbone. We went 2 Tuesday nights ago because "kids eat free." We confirmed with the server (who spoke very little) and she nodded that, indeed kids eat free. That would have been a perfect opportunity for her to clarify any "restrictions." She didn't, so we order 3 adult entrees and 4 kids meals from the menu provided for kids. When the check came, we were charged the full price for everything. We asked the server about it and she said that they would take it off at the register. Wrong!!! Unfortunately it was getting busy and my husband didn't check when he signed the credit card receipt. While recording receipts later, I saw the charge and called Denny's to clear it up (get it reversed off of my VISA). The manager, Dennis, barely said anything and acted like it was just too bad (I live in Corvallis and he said I needed to come in person to do it, knowing that driving an hour each way to get the money back was likely not going to happen within the week that he said I had to do it). When I told him what happened about our inquiry with the waitress, and everything else, he just said, "Hm", or nothing at all!! He did say the server should not have charged us on the ticket initially. Okaaaaaaay. I sent a picture of the receipt to my daughter who lives in Woodburn and she went over to talk to Dennis (I did not give her details about my conversation with him). She said, "Wow, he was RUDE!" I told her that was my experience as well. He said that he would give us back the money for the main thing they ordered, but not the drink, side, etc. My daughter asked if that was posted anywhere and he indicated that the sign says, "Ask server for details." She said we did and his answer was.....silence! At least we got some of the money back....it was the least they could do, and apparently they do the least can do. We, nor our family, nor anyone we know who lives nearby will darken the door of the Denny's in Woodburn again, and quite likely any Denny's after that horrible experience. read more
