They had a 2-person team out to me that morning, fixed the original leak and identified another leak and fixed it right away! They were supportive, efficient and did some great work! The company charged me $65 for a new drip pan that I never received and $250 for a permit that was taken out five days AFTER the service was completed--three times the actual cost of the town permit, which is only $75 in Amherst. According to the town's ordinance, permits need to be pulled prior to any work being done. It was only after I confronted the company about not pulling a permit that they attempted to backtrack and obtain one 5 days after the completion of this job. When I requested a refund, they informed me that I needed to have the town inspector come and inspect their work before they would issue a refund for the $65 & not for the permit. This inspection is not a requirement, with or without a permit, yet they are refusing to refund my money. While their onsite team did an excellent job, the dishonesty of the office staff puts a bad name on the company. I DO NOT recommend American Plumbing Heating & Cooling due to these deceptive practices.

After the expansion tank was added and adjusted on the hot water tank my washer and dryer have to be squeezed back into place, pipes have to be pushed out of the way to make the washer and dryer to fit. I'm going back downstairs to attempt to rectify this situation. I'm not happy that I have to do anything at all. It cost me enough. Would I recommend Heritage Home Service? No is the short answer...

On August 15, 2026, I called Heritage Home Service to fix a leaky shower valve cartridge. Heritage…read morecame out to troubleshoot the problem, and the plumber tried to show me that it was not the shower valve cartridge. They told me that the basement leak was due to lack of caulking around the shower stall door trim and the show door bottom seal. Subsequently, the plumber caulked the door trim and joint between the shower pan and the floor. The shower was used later in the evening and the basement leak returned. It turned out that the shower valve cartridge was leaking only when the valve was open, not when it was closed. I rushed to Home Depot that evening before it closed to buy a Moen #1222 replacement cartridge at my own expense, and I replaced it myself that same evening. The next work day, I called Heritage to tell them that their work did not remedy the leak, and I texted them the sales receipt for the valve cartridge. I requested my money back for only the cartridge, or a replacement cartridge. It is now September 2, and after 3 phone calls, I haven't received a callback from the Heritage customer service representative. During the service call, I purchased the Home Advantage contract which speaks about 100% customer satisfaction. We are very senior citizens, and our treatment by Heritage has been shabby at best. I stop short of stating that Heritage business practices are predatory while awaiting any communication between Heritage and our household. I am sorry, but I cannot recommend Heritage Home services, or the Heritage Advantage contract.
