PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! tl;dr: - Visited several other dental offices (5-star hundreds of reviews) for 2nd opinion and ALL said the work performed was extremely poor. - Sub-par work for a premium price. - Profits are placed ahead of patient care. - Takes zero ownership of failures. Dr Nimesh Patel performed dental implants and prostheses. The before and after was HORRENDOUS. Nothing looked natural. Patient was in constant discomfort. Concerns about Dr Patel's work were expressed at every visit. He will assure you and comfort you throughout the process, but when it comes time to back up his work he disappears. Dr Patel will not speak with the patient. He lacks compassion and empathy. If you have any issues he has the front office deal with you and wear you down. Dr Patel will blame anything and everything else for the poor outcome. He will advise you to get plastic surgery to correct his failures. I've never had such a thorough teeth cleaning before! I was actually in for an implant, and at every visit Dr Patel does a complimentary teeth cleaning and polish because he notices my calculus build up. And I must say, my teeth have never looked more shiny and white, even after a deep cleaning! I just wished I lived closer so that he could be my regular dentist. I went to Dr. Nimesh Patel at the Laguna Niguel location for removal of 4 impacted wisdom teeth. From my initial meeting with him, he took the time to explain the procedure, potential complications, and recovery. He spoke with kindness, compassion, and a high level of knowledge that instantly allowed me to trust him. He was communicative throughout the entire procedure and even during the recovery period to make sure I was okay. Of note my wisdom teeth were all impacted making the procedure naturally more complicated, however Dr. Patel removed all 4 with nothing short of perfection. From the doctor to the front office staff, you can expect to be treated with the upmost level of care. The dentist pushed me really really hard to get 4 implants done, telling me that the teeth could not be saved and that this was my only real option. I let him do two. I went to another dentist later that year, who told me that the remaining two teeth weren't even remotely in as bad a state that they need implants, and he repaired them. This gives me extreme doubts about whether the two I had this office replace with implants were also necessary to have removed, as they were in very similar condition as the two that were saved. I feel like I was pressured into unnecessary and expensive implants at the sacrifice of viable teeth. I would not go here again. read more

I love Dr. Patel and his team!!! It took me years to finally get in to see a dentist, only after having an emergency and needing an extraction. Dr. Patel, Jose and the rest of his staff made the whole process seamless. He was so kind, compassionate, informative and gentle. His office is non judgemental and they only want to help. His front office team is wonderful! I see reviews complaining about the price of implants, but what people don't realize is there is a lot more that goes into getting an implant and with that comes additional cost. Dental 2000 is by far less expensive than any other dental practice for implants, and the work is done with care and perfection. Completely unhappy with the entire implant procedure from beginning to end. First, a advertised price of $800 turned into a $3200 implant with a porcelain crown. Second, everything about my implant procedure was mishandled by the office staff and by Dr. Patel. Prescriptions were not given, patient care instructions were not given, during my oral surgery Dr. Patel was checking other patients X-Rays and micro-managing the office, giving verbal replies to phone messages, telling the staff to send files to other offices and so on, and the first placement of the implant wasn't correct so it had to be redone. Third, the finished product is horrible. The gum line on my front tooth is exposed and my smile has been destroyed forever. read more

Patel is a very congenial and a convincing fast-talker, equipped with cutting-edge technology to convince you that you may need more work than is necessary, and to pay an exorbitant price, in advance. Although, his staff tries to convince patients that his prices are the least expensive in the area -- untrue. If you think that your oral hygiene is perfect and you have no problems, you may be fine here at $80 per visit for a hurried exam without checking/measuring your gum pockets for recession (that cause bone/tooth loss) or examining under your tongue (for indications of oral cancer). I received a 10 minute superficial cleaning. Because I was unsatisfied with the sketchy treatment at Dental 2000, and felt like something was wrong, I sought another dental exam, and sure enough, I had a cracked filling and a bacterial infection that needed treatment. This second dental-hygienist provided a thorough cleaning, discovered deep 4-5 gum pockets and I received the proper treatment and and a follow-up care I needed for 1/3 the cost. If you expect a thorough exam, and top-notch work, Dental 2000 is not the place. Perhaps they should just focus on tooth-whitening procedures. I suggest reading Terri L's Yelp review as well, to see her implant photograph. Sadly, Dr. Patel absolutely destroyed her smile. Yelp is meant to protect the public and I will not be returning to Dental 2000. They advertised 2 entire implants for $ 1100, this is a total scam. After a very perfunctory exam by rather a strange lady I had to make a special request to actually meet Dr.Patel. I was then put in an office with what I can only call a closer { it very much like buying a used car} where it was explained to me that although the advertisement I had in my hand said one price Dr. Patel would not dream of doing the implants this way and the only way he would agree to doing them would actually cost over $1600's each. I needed a crown as well and although advertised at $399 Dr Patel could only do them for over $600. I asked for a quote in writing but this was refused. I asked the person who was "helping me" how she could be involved with this scam and she said she was embarrassed but needed the job. I made an appt for a consultation regarding a dental implant basing the expected price on their advertised coupon ($599). The coupon did specifically say that the price did not include extraction (I did not need one) nor bone grafting. However, the price they quoted me once I made the trip from San Diego to Laguna Niguel was $2600! I was not seen by a dentist and given a long laundry list of things that I supposedly needed.
