the care was horrible, expensive and the instruments was stained with blood. it was dark and disgusting. how can you put something that looks like rust stain blood into someones mouth? and the Doctor was greedy with the money and rude as hell. Last Monday I drove to Randolph from Sturbridge to have a temporary crown glued back in place. I had the pleasure of meeting Kaysea for the first time and was impressed. Casey did a great job of cleaning and fitting the temporary. I really saw Kaysea's skill when Dr Emami decided to replace the temporary. Kaysea started the process by taking molds. This is usually a painful process for me due to 'bumps' on the inside of my lower gums. I alerted Kaysea to this and she was able to make it painless. Kaysea then made and adjusted the new temporary. It was dramatically better than the initial one both in size and fit. Kaysea made a number of adjustments before gluing it in place and then Dr Emami made the final adjustments. While I will, of course, be careful not to dislodge the temporary I've never had a temporary that fit this well or was more functional. Add all that to Kaysea's excellent 'chair side manner' and I want to share my appreciation. My wife, Denise, and I have been clients for many years and, as evidenced by our willingness to drive 3 hours round trip, have been very happy with our dental care. I have found the most Amazing Hygienist here - Shannon - I have been coming here for quite some time but I have found THE ONE!!!! it took me a while to post - mostly because I suck at names but after experiencing her... not sure I would ever want to have another person work on me for a cleaning. If she leaves, I would certainly follow her. Her knowledge is beyond the norm, her care...phenomenal and she is gentle for those of us that hate going in the first place. I had one of the worst appointment today 12/30/14 at this dental office. I had a scheduled appointment at 11:30 am, I arrived at 11:15 am. After checking in, I waited to be called to the back, which finally happened at 12 noon (1/2 hr after scheduled appointment). I was seated in the chair, a few minutes later the dentist came in, he numb me up & told me it should be 5 min. Well, guess what! I sat in that chair until 12:30 pm(over 25 min after medicine was injected) without anyone checking in on me. Keep in mind, he administered the medicine at 12:05 .. All the while I'm sitting in that chair, I'm hearing the dentist working in the other room. Common courtesy would have been for them to say they are running 1 hr behind. I left out of there at 12:35 pm, over an hour later, without getting my dental filling and anyone coming over to check on me. What a disappointment, since I have had previous visits at this location and my experience was wonderful. It is important to let your patients know if you are running late since unforeseen emergency can occur. Treat each patient as an individual, communication, acknowledgement, respect of the other person time is important. I've learned that people will forget what you said,people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. read more

Do not go here!!!!!!!!!! If I could give this place 100 negative stars I would. The new dentist here missed my tongue twice and instead drilled my tongue!!! Resulted in stitches in my tongue that were not expected for a filling of a tooth. Total malpractice. Now I am unable to eat solid food and instead I am in incredible pain. My tongue was mutilated by this horrible place!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on this practice for mutilating my tongue. I miss food and I miss not being in agony. Do not go here!!!!!! read more

Lousy experience for me, all about the $$$ First time I went over a yr ago , the Dentist had "stepped out". I had a cleaning and way too many x rays , he was supposed to check, asked if I could come next morning, for him to go over treatment, I said maybe I could tag along with my daughter , who had a first time Appt also. I had to work so could not go, they charged me for NS... Fast forward to next Appt, the Dr suggested implant where a front crown had broken off( last a life time my ass!!), I wasn't sure about going through with the trauma and expense of implant, so put it on hold. He told me I needed a few "minor" fillings and some cosmetic work, but wanted money up front( which I did not have) Busy with life and 4 teens, I lapsed and when pain became unbearable I went back, He told me two back teeth were infected where there was a root canal and Bridge / crown... again , former ( lifetime dental work??!!) The front tooth which was giving me most pain was ignore, it may needed to be extracted . Made an appt with the Endodontist , who only seemed to focus on a front tooth that didn't hurt , and I explained the severe pain and now infection was in back teeth and front where crown had broken off, a nice woman, but she seemed puzzled... Then a financial guy comes in with a bunch of papers, tells me , she can do a root canal on back tooth now instead of filling, and my portion would be almost $900, I broke down, they were going to work on tooth that was least bothersome and leave the one which was insanely painful... I understand that the lower back tooth needs work , but my dilemma was front tooth, because of pain, unsightliness, they really pushed for money, I explained that I wasn't expecting to fork over $875 that day, and didn't have check , cash or credit card to cover it. " can u call someone"..??? I really broke down in tears, the Dr never bothered to ask how I was doing, I had explained the Penicillin was making me ill, but, they said "take with food"...D'uh... I was asked to come back next morning in a (snow storm ), to original Dedham office..... with my wad of money in hand.... never !! My 19 yr old daughter has beautiful teeth , never had a cavity, has insurance, went there for a cleaning and they "found " 4 teeth that "needed " tooth colored filling, out of pocket ..$400 with insurance... rip off. read more

DON'T GO!!! I would have given this scary, unprofessional, and unethical place 0 star if this option were available. I had my worst dental experience with the dentists there, Stein and Emami. I don't think they deserve the Dr. title, so I'll just use their last names. While Stein did a filling for me the other night in the Dedham office, she DRILLED INTO MY FLESH!!! I screamed and she stopped. However, since my mouth was numbed, I didn't feel much pain right after the moment of the drilling. The pain returned a couple hours later when the anesthesia wore off, and I found a wound in my mouth in the area next to the tooth filled (interior of my face). And she also gave me 2 injections of anesthesia for 1 tooth before the fillling started. I felt extremely nauseous and dizzy afterwards, and passed out right after I arrived home. And that was not the end of the story. The next day I called them, was told that I shall go to their office in Randolph to have Emami check my wound and address the issue. I went there expecting to hear an apology and some empathy. You guess what? No apology, no empathy. Emami kept saying that my wound was an ulcer, and that "it's NORMAL to pass out after a dental procedure." He even questioned whether I was having a low sugar level the night before, but never said a "sorry." I told him I was not hungry at the appointment and the passout had nothing to do with glucose. (On the contrary, I had some food before going there in the evening. ) Those people are crazy. I was angry and told EMAMI and his assistant that it might be COMMON to pass out after a procedure WITH THEM, but it is absolutely NOT normal. And then this Emami, this man in a doctor's robe but without a doctor's heart, began to accuse me of not letting him speak!!! But who wants to continue hearing him repeat his lies?! I left without saying anything and will never return to that most horrible place in my life and those most heartless people. All 4 in my family will not return. And I will also tell my experience to people in my community as well as post this same message onto the Nextdoor neigborhood BBS. These people shall not practice as health care providers. Well after numerous bad experiences at other Dental Offices in regard to the DDS doing cheap work, over billing etc... I became very standoffish about starting out fresh with a new Dental Practice. . my wife and 2 sons happen to goto Dental Specialties in Randolph, Ma and my wife made me a Emergency Appt with them one day as I was eating and my Bridgework had become lose... I haven't looked back since!!! I am now currently 4 appts into this new to me Dental Office that is now correcting work from my previous Dentist and every single person in this office is very friendly my dentist as well as my hygenist all make sure I'm comfortable before and while dental work. . After having a cracked tooth worked on and subsequently screwed up by several other dentists, Dr. Emami saved the day for me. He did all of the work, even after I moved to CA, I would make return trips just to see him because I trusted him. He spent as much time as I needed to answer any questions or concerns I had throughout the entire process. The dental assistants were also so great. If it weren't for Dr. Emami and his staff, I'm not sure what I would've done. I now have a new tooth on an implant and it's great. I can't thank them enough for all they did to help me and for their complete patience with me. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Whatever you do, run for the hills if you get Dr. Robert Emami. He has no bedside manner or personality. If you decide to see him, be prepared to be guilted into expensive procedures. He started out being a good dentist, pretty painless. On my last appointment, he sucker punched me with an unexpected shot of Novocain directly into my open root canal work. It KILLED. I went here a long time ago right before the renovation. I need to have my teeth checked out but, the only thing stopping me from going here is their other location in Dedham. I really don't like the Dedham Dental Specialties at all but, if I need certain work done by the dentist there I will have to go. Randolph location is excellent. read more

The staff is very friendly , and the office very clean and modern,, although my first visit I sat in the waiting room 20 minutes waiting for my appointment. which I did not like.. Also I want to mention they do fillings in White and not silver, which my insurance does not cover for white, so I need to find another Dentist.. That being said , I would recommend them. read more

This all about Luke J. he is such a lovely person, very professional and know his job as an Hygienist. He is doing an excellent job. During all my life going to Dentist I always have some problems with them cleaning my teeth because I have a sensitive mouth but he made everything so easy and comfortable with no pain. I totally Disagree with the last comment made!! I have been a patient there for 20+ years and my whole family goes there. We have never had a problem ever there! My daughter loves going and makes me make an appointment for her at 4yrs old to get her teeth cleaned as she loves getting them done by the wonderful staff! The office manager is super sweet and caring and tried to accommodate anything for us. I can't speak highly enough about them. The office is clean and brand new and everyone is wonderful. My wife and I have been going to Dental Specialties for a long time. Around a year or two ago I left because I couldn't take this place anymore. Every appointment would take anywhere between an hour and a half to two hours. Nothing was ever on time. The staff are not mean per se but not very personable either. Most of them are space cadets. The dentist I saw would always grill me about me grinding my teeth every time I had an appointment. Now keep in mind nobody has ever told me I grind my teeth in my entire life. Not even other dentists. Then he would always tell me I need to buy a special mouth guard from them that will cost $200. According to him I couldn't just buy any regular mouth guard from a sporting good store. I've also had bindings done on some cracked teeth from them and 2 months later the bindings would break. This happened at least 2 or 3 times consecutively. Also I believe the owner drives a Maserati to work everyday. What does that tell you about your bill? read more

Ok. I have just finished my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Roshanak Ghazinouri the orthodontist at this office and I could not be any happier! I never liked the way my teeth looked and I have been to many orthodontist asking for braces but I was told that I needed a surgery, a pretty intensive one, That turned me off . I came to dental specialties for a cleaning and I was seen by one of the dentist for an exam, Dr. Mizoguchi. She was very sweet and thorough . I told her how I don't like the way my teeth look. She referred me to the orthodontist in the practice and I was seen by Dr. Ghazinouri the same week for free consultation . She told me that I'm actually a very good candidate for Invisalign . We started the treatment right away. She's an awesome dentist. Very understanding,competent and her attention to details totally blew me off. She put my fear of dentists in to considerations and was very gentle.She had no problem going over the treatment plan over and over till we reached the desired results. Last week I finished my treatment and I still can't get over how beautiful my teeth looks. I have never smiled this much my whole life. I feel like a whole new person and I can't put into words how appreciative I am to her and the office. Thanks guys you're the best and I will definitely be sending all my family and friends over .
