Never did I ever think I would review a dentist office, but here goes. This place is actually quite amazing. I have a severe phobia of dentists and already deal with anxiety. The staff was kind, patient and even held my hand when I needed extra support. Listen, the dentist is the dentist. I've yet to meet anyone who enjoys getting any type of procedure done, but if you have to go, consider this place. Just know that you'll be in great hands at this place. 10/10 read more

This place has very nice and welcoming staff, new equipment, and is very clean. Unfortunately, I did not have a very positive experience getting a cavity filled by Dr. Yip. He is very efficient and great at his job but needs better communication with his patients. I was given information very quickly and was not given much time to feel comfortable before the filling. The process I went through was too fast for me and uncomfortable to the point that I started crying. I understand that cavity fillings are inevitably an uncomfortable process to go through, but I believe that this bad experience could have been avoided with better communication and patience. BEWARE OF OVER BILLING On December 4, 2024, schedule an appointment with dentist Vaidehi Trivedi to correct my bite. At the beginning of my appointment, I was directed to take x-trays. I admittedly denied the service and I told her dental assistance several times my insurance would not cover x-trays, and I just needed her to adjust my bite. The office Manager/billing expert stood behind and said in the presence of my husband and dental assistance I would not be charged for x-rays . I then allowed the dental assistant to put those small wing shaped objects in my mouth and a few bite-wing x-rays were taken. My husband and I then proceeded to the dental chair where Vaidehi adjusted my bit. She also recommended a night guard. The office manager/billing expert came in afterwards to discuss the price of the guard. I declined to purchase the 275.00-night guard. On December 6, 2024, I reached out to Aetna - Dental to go over my remaining benefits and I noticed Vaidehi charged me 799.00 that included: 3D Con Bean CT, Panoramic , Bite wings x-rays, and an exam. I was not surprised about the exam but I was appalled that I billed for x-trays that did not take place. I filed a complaint with Aetna - Dental , my dental insurance company. I am now requesting the correction claim be file with my insurance company and my account be credited back for all the x-rays. Mostly because a couple of them did not happen and for the bite-wings x-rays because I was there would be no charge and my husband and the dental assistant was present when I was told this by the billing expert. I am now seeking an corrected invoice for services rendered. On December 9, 2024 at 7:15 am I spoke to Jennifer the billing agent. She just happen to call to cancel my husbands appointment. I addressed my concern of her billing me for x-rays that did not take place. Again she said, we always bill the insurance but we don't expect them to pay and we don't bill you for xrays. I told her so you just bill and try max out my insurance without charging me personally. That is alarming. She said yes bet it is,. I told her she charged me for a panosonic xray and they only pay for those once a year. She corrected and said its every 36 months the insurance will pay out. Again she said she did not see in the system where they paid,. I call Aetna Dental PPO on 3-ways and we once we got Jennifer on the phone she said she was in the process of refunding the funds my insurance paid for xrays due to services not rendered. Summary, this Dental office has over charging your insurance built into their business practices and if their customers are not checking the charges to their insurance, they are taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. read more

The office was clean, reception staff was kind, and the dentist did a good job with the ultrasonic scaler which left my teeth feeling clean. However, I was disappointed that a dental assistant--not a hygienist--was the one flossing and polishing my teeth. The work felt unprofessional, like someone inexperienced was practicing on me. On top of that, the dentist came across as rude after asking a few questions, which made the experience uncomfortable. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BILL AND ASK QUESTIONS WHEN TALKING ABOUT INSURANCE AND COSTS!!!!!! I am new to the area and this office is near me and had decent reviews so decided to try it out. Paperwork was easy to do. I was quick to get in and get back and be seen, but that's all the good I can say. When having my dental exam I was seen by Dr.Trivedei, who told me I needed a night guard because she can see I was grinding my teeth (I have never been told this and I've been to the dentist 3x every year). She showed me charts of tooth decay and told me it was not an if but a when, that if I didn't get the night guard, my teeth would end up in a certain range, which would be very painful. She said she doesn't deal with any of the cost or insurance part of things and would send someone in. She also told me I was an excellent candidate for whitening and I should consider booking that. Started to feel more like a sales pitch than it did a doctors visit. Someone from the insurance side came in and pulled up my insurance and profile on the computer and started to break down the cost of the visit and if I were to get the night guard. She was telling me I had great insurance and great coverage, and that the nightguard would only cost me $50 to get. I said I wasn't sure and then she continued to discuss the night guard with me saying that Dr.Trivedi said I needed it and with my insurance it was very cheap. It specifically asked her, having worked in a doctors office before and understanding the process of insurance, if it was only $50 flat now and it was not something that would be billed through insurance and then I would be covering the remainder of the cost later. She said no that my insurance was verified that it would only be $50. There would be nothing to pay later after billing insurance which is why I agreed to get the night guard. (If she was unsure of could not 100% confirm this she should have told me to contact my dental insurance provider as they cannot guarantee anything. However she repeatedly said it was only going to be $50 after asking very specific questions which is why I agreed). Flash forward two weeks I go in I pick up the night guard and then shortly after receive a bill for $300+ for remainder cost of the night guard. I called in about the bill and was told that insurance didn't cover as much as what they thought, to which I said I confirmed multiple times before agreeing to the night guard that it would be $50 flat and I specifically asked those questions about them billing insurance with the night guard knowing that that's what happens and I was told repeatedly it was $50 flat and that is it. Whoever was on the other end of the clicked around on the computer for a minute and then said she could get a part taken care of and I would only owe $49 (YOU CANT JUST DISCOUNT MONEY YOU SUPPOSEDLY OWE AN INSURANCE COMPANY). I told her again that's not the point you said it was only $50 you can't just magically takeoff 200+ dollars that supposedly insurance is charging me because how can they magically make that go away- she cut me off and said they would take care of it and then hung up. I had to follow up again a week later to remind them to clear the balance, so it was not attempted to be collected on. Another sidenote, I've been to a new dentist since, and I have not once wore the night guard once out of curiosity to see if I even needed it to begin with. I was told it was absolutely unnecessary, my teeth look great, although it could prevent future problems but nothing I should have got/needed now. 0/10 read more

No help at all, expensive for getting nothing done and dentist was rude and laughed at issues

BEWARE: Dentists of Lenexa quoted a price for Dental care, after procedure was completed and paid for (after seeing reviews, I now realize this is their common practice), Billing Dept. came back several months later to extort more money from me by sending an additional amount to collections. When I required of their ethically poor practice of "bait and switch", they claimed that insurance didn't cover what THEY previously assured me was covered. This same billing department was asked, very clearly, to check on coverages prior to procedure. Billing department initially stated with confidence they had checked on coverages, consequently the bill was paid in full, Only to witness the billing dept. chose to perform the "switch" months later and attempt to collect more (as man have also claimed in other reviews). Billing rudely stated, "We checked on your insurance as a courtesy to you"... well, if you "checked" and had done your job, why the addition? Imagine any other business attempting such a "bait and switch" many months later. I suggest you don't take their word for it, especially if you're living on a limited income and rely on them for accuracy and integrity. First time at this dental location. I was extremely pleased with the entire staff from the front office to the dental hygienist to the dentist Dr Yip himself. I called this office and asked about getting a consultation about getting an implant done and they said that the consultation would be free and they honored my dental plan. So I made an appointment. When I got there they said they wanted a Dr. Yip to look at me to see what else I needed. I told them I had a dentist and I told them that I was only there to talk with Dr Turley about the implant. Then they said well they wouldn't honor my dental plan and it would cost $192. And I said just to talk to him. And she said yes. I said no thanks. The point is that they flat lied to me both on the phone and in person. Don't waste your time they cannot be trusted. If they will do this to someone on the front end what will they do once they have their hooks in you??? read more

Alejandra is the dental assistant who works with Dr. Yip at Dentists of Lenexa, and she is incredible. I've never had a cleaning this thorough in my life! She did more than any dental assistant I've ever seen - and my poor teeth really needed it after the last place I went to. It's important to note Alejandra is an RDA (Registered Dental Assistant), not just a Certified Dental Assistant, so she has a higher level of education - and many years of experience.
