They have consistently been professional, friendly, and respectful, and I have never had any issues -- until recently. Last July, I received a call from a staff member named Jamie (I'm unsure of the spelling) while I was on my way to an appointment. She spoke to me in a loud and condescending tone, accusing me of being late multiple times. I was surprised by this, as it seemed unusual for a dental office to keep such a record, but I chose not to let her rudeness affect me and went ahead to my appointment and booked my next appointment. Today, I had an appointment scheduled for 4:00 p.m. I live about 11 minutes away and left my home at 3:45 p.m. While driving on Bothell-Everett Highway in heavy rain, traffic slowed significantly. As I reached the light to turn into the office complex,around 4:06 p.m. I received another call from Jamie. She again spoke in a harsh and disrespectful tone, informing me that my appointment was canceled because I had supposedly been late to nine previous appointments. I explained that I was just on the traffic light turning into the building, but she continued to speak to me in a very dismissive and rude manner, and cancelled my appointment. As a paying patient, I found her behavior completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I felt disrespected and spoken to in a way no patient should experience. It is especially disappointing because I have always appreciated Dr. Berry's care and the professionalism of his staff. Unfortunately, my interactions with Jamie have been the complete opposite, and I can't help but feel that I was treated differently, possibly because I am African and speak with an accent. I am writing to share my experience in the hope that this matter is addressed appropriately. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, regardless of circumstances. No one should be spoken to in such a demeaning manner

By 9am the next day, I'd received a call back that the office was on vacation but could see me the first day they were back at a time convenient for me. When I arrive, everyone is friendly and knows who I am, Dr. Son makes my tooth more comfortable, takes photos so I can see the damage, and explains what I need to do next. Since my insurance situation is changing, he says he doesn't want me to end up with a big bill, so we should wait until we have an estimate and are on the same page. He doesn't charge me for the 45 minutes of his time and patient advice, and I leave with peace of mind. Great dentist.

Day of, everyone was nice on my way in. Lots of pictures and shockingly I needed a root canal, actually two. Unfortunately the doctor only does one at a time so I'm not done yet. The receptionist lost a bit of patience (it seemed) when I was trying to set up another appointment. I work, so my availability kinda is wonky and I'm stuck with this lump on the back of my tooth (temporary filling) for two additional weeks until I can get the second filling. To be honest, my tongue is already raw from rubbing against the filling on the one tooth that's been done. So yes, I really want to get in sooner and maybe she had a long day, bit it felt like she wasn't interested in trying to get me in sooner. They did however give me a little gift bag, with water and chocolate and Advil. That was neat. Obviously I'll be back l, so it was a good experience overall.
