They charged me over 500 dollars to get a mouth guard (since I grind at night which is true) that I lost shortly after getting it and tried to get them to make me a replacement immediately after I lost it at a work trip and they said it wouldn't fit and that I would need a whole new set of imprints which is incorrect. I would be skeptical of some of their recommendations. I also had a crown and it did fit correctly and they tried to fit it again and I continued to have pain with my jaw and overall the dentist didn't even come look at personally she just sent me to a specialist and said I "might" need a root canal. Now I might have a unique situation but it doesn't appear that way and this appears to be standard practice so I'll be finding a new dentist. The staff is generally friendly and the office is up to code but, at this point I don't think the dentist has done a competent job and I would not recommend them to any friends or family. Nor do they really seem like they care about the pain my teeth and jaw have been.

My tooth isn't the same nearly two years after a routine filling by Dr. Rena Mollner. She talked throughout the entire procedure, even pausing what she was doing to continue her conversation. As a result I've had nerve pain in my tooth and I'm unable to eat normally with it. Dr. Nate Mollner attempted to pacify me in a follow up visit by telling me this is normal when a filling happens and it happened to him when his Dad did his filling as a kid, since a filling is only a stepping stone before you get more procedures! The dentist and hygienist informed me that I had early stages perioral gum disease (with a few sites being 4mm which is how they stage gum disease). They also told me they would not do a standard cleaning that day and I would have to come back for a deep cleaning... which would cost $450. I was skeptical and asked many questions, they stated it would be insurance fraud if they charged my insurance for a standard cleaning and later needed a deep cleaning. Well I called my insurance and that's not how it works! I got a second opinion and was informed that all my gums were less than 2 mm and not near stages of perioral gum disease. OG dental also tried to have me do a sleep study (more money) and recommended 4 fillings. Needless to say, I was recommended an up charge for almost everything, that was deemed not necessary but a second dentist (and cheaper to get fillings done too!) That was a long review but I was very frustrated with my care here and would not recommend to anyone. Only positive was a cute front office set up.

Making an initial appointment on their website was easy, and it was scheduled right away. I've somehow gotten lucky parking in the tiny lot right outside. Getting examined, teeth cleaned, and x-rayed was super efficient. Every staff member I encountered was wonderful, and Dr. Bennett is a cool dude. Having grown up in a family of dentists, this office made me feel right at home, which for most people is probably weird to say about their dentist. Anyways, online bill pay and electronic record transfer is seamless, too. I can't say enough good things about Sloanside Dental!

So it pains me terribly to leave a sour review; but after owing a patient for about 5 years, they just dropped me and my insurance like a bad habit it and without any warning whatsoever. My cleaning was coming due end of July 2024 and middle of July I get a text message that's says we don't take your insurance anymore. You can either self pay or cancel. That's how I'm treated after years of loyal service. No warning. Not even a phone call to explain. I got nothing but booted to the curb.
