A successful food truck experience! Two in our party had the falafel sandwich and one had a chicken shawarma sandwich. We all agreed that is was tasty good and generous portion for the money. Falafel was $4.75 and chicken was $5.50. They made the falafel to order, and that delayed the start of our lunch a bit. Owned by two bothers, one brother took our order, gave us a number (liked that system) and took payment, the other put together our lunches. I have been frequenting the Shondiz food truck for 7 years and it is by far my favorite. The shawarma is amazing and no matter where else I get it, every other place pales in comparison. Cool food cart on Mall St (16th). Outdoor seating close by (at public tables, so no guarantees you will have a seat or who with, but great for people watching). Tasty, tasty gyro fixed just right. They use a 2-person approach. Give youir order and pay the friendly Iranian fellow outside the cart. He relays your order to the inside guy who fixes it the way you like. Veggies and pita were fresh. Sauce was just right. read more

I tried both the falafel ($4.75) and shwarma ($5.75) sandwiches and loved both. The sandwiches were large and made to order. The guys working the stand were super friendly, and the frequent diner card where you get the tenth sandwich free is very nice and will ensure I'll be back many times. They don't set up shop sometimes when its really cold, which is understandable. My suggestion is to take the sandwich back to the Republic Plaza food court if you don't want to eat in your office. If you aren't eating here, you're missing out. My go to lunch place when I'm looking for carry out. I love the kebab sandwich with a side of falafel. Ordered a Chicken Doner Kebab and it was delicious!!! The spicy sauce was just enough to make your nose run a little but still have great flavor. I wish there was more food choices to include cheesy bread and some desserts but I understand limited space. I'm normally hesitant about Doners in the US after having them in Turkey but took a chance because of reviews. I didn't go all the way though and get the lamb. After tasting the great flavor today with the chicken I wish I had. I will definitely come back again and get the lamb next time! read more

I ordered the Doner meal and it was really good. The meat was very tasty and had excellent flavoring from the lamb. I have visited this Mediterranean cart dozens of times over the past few months. The gentleman working inside the cart, along with the occasional gentleman working outside the cart, are always super friendly and conversational. Since I get into work early, it's always refreshing to see them all set up and ready to go before I head into the office. Within minutes, I have my bacon breakfast burrito fresh, piping hot and ready to eat when I settle in at my desk. I love street/cart food, so I am very thankful for these guys being so super close to my office. For $2.50, I can stuff my face with tons of bacon, egg, cheese and green chili at 8:00am and be set until early afternoon. At any given moment, you might see two or 30 people standing in line to snag something delicious from this guy's cart. If that isn't an indication of how great this place is, then I don't know what the hell to tell you. I had a short conversation with the "chef" about a week ago regarding opening a permanent location. He said he's working on it, but he doesn't want to raise his prices because so many people have become dependent on his delicious and inexpensive meals.. so he'll just have to wait longer. This guy is, and always has been, all about his customers and I plan to continue visiting him often. read more

Their little food cart, located outside of Cooks Fresh Market gets packed in the mornings, so call ahead with your order and they will have it ready for you when you get there. Vegetarian plate was delicious. I got to choose how I wanted my falafel cooked (soft or crispy) I got to choose what ingredients went into my salad. All components are thoughtfully kept separate. The hummus and dolmas were super tasty. Perhaps the best part were the little strips of pickles. So good! read more

Shondiz, you have finally made my life complete. Ever since leaving Europe I've been craving a good Döner and haven't even come close. I haven't found anything this authentic since being in Istanbul or even Germany! The guys are super friendly too. One day my friend and I got there just after they closed so they actually gave us a coupon for a free sandwich each next time we came. It's amazing how such a little stand can create such a big buzz. They get a lunchtime crowd at least 20 people deep and somehow manage to coordinate everyone's orders flawlessly. I'll definitely be stopping by plenty more times. read more

On my visit to downtown Denver I left the hotel for a morning walk and saw this food wagon. I thought hey, why not try authentic food. We were in Denver in the fall of 2011 and I still have been thinking about this food cart. I recently joined yelp and this is one place I want to leave a review for. Husband was visiting Denver for a conference and I just tagged along. On our last day we were taking a stroll thru 16th Street Mall and ended up at the food cart. I was so happy to have found this, I love Mediterranean, Persian, middle eastern food. We both ordered the Doner Kabab Sandwich which we both devoured, it was so good. I still remember it. I was so sad that I found it on the last day and not my first day because we stayed pretty close by at the Westin. We loved it so much we got 2 more for dinner later and the airport. read more

New favorite food alert! I can't believe I work less than a block from this food cart and have only just tried it today. Such a shame. I had a delicious doner kabob for $4.50 and three yummy falafels for $1.50. What a fanfreakingtastic meal! It was a lot of food and I inhaled all of it. Their spicy sauce is perfectly medium hot (can add more from the bottle if you need to), the veggies were fresh and crisp and pita warm and soft. I also sampled a bite of hummus on pita and it was smooth, creamy and wonderful. There was a bit of a wait which surprised me at 1pm, but it was worth it. Two friendly guys work this cart and I will be back to give them my lunch money. I'll be ordering the falafel sandwich for $3.50. They also have breakfast burritos in multiple varieties including vegetarian for just $2.50 AND a punch card for frequent purchases. They even take credit cards including the elusive AMEX. The food is ok but the one thing that turns me off about this food cart is you have to call in your order and if you don't the owner becomes very rude. This seems ridiculous for a food cart!! I will not eat there due to the lack of walk up service and the burrito snob owner. read more

This is a late review, but has been on my mind to write since March 2016! My dad and I did a cross-country drive from Maryland to California. I planned the route to pass-through Denver. This was a 4-day zip across the country. When we arrived, I showed my Dad 16th Street mall since I have been here before and was looking around to see where to eat. Then this little cart in the middle street was in front of us. I love Mediterranean but my dad doesn't eat much of that stuff. So we ordered, the 2 dudes and girl at the time was super friendly and just had a happy vibe. But looked cramped inside. haha. Got the food and damn it was so good. I don't write reviews often but you can guess it's stuck on my brain for a 1.5 years! Food was great and filling. My dad loved it. One of the best random pick without searching through Yelp. Shondiz is awesome. I happened upon this cart as I was meandering around 16th Street Mall trying to find something to eat. The guys that run the cart are very friendly, which is what initially inspired me to try it. I also love doner kebab, so it wasn't a tough decision to give it a shot. Let me start this review by clarifying my rating a bit: When compared to other kebab options in Denver, this awesome little cart is easily a 5. However, having lived in London and been spoiled by kebabs in Eastern Europe, I'm going to go with the solid 4 rating. This is guaranteed the best option in the greater Denver area, and the closest to anything in Europe (no doubt due to the purveyors' Austrian heritage).
