After waiting 2 hours for them to send me a deal sheet for me to take to the bank, they added their OPTIONAL $1,397 "Warranty" to the deal sheet (without me asking or telling me that they had done so) and after I asked to opt out they told me they couldn't sell me the car or they'd "take a loss" on it. MIND you, between my first contact with the dealership, and them telling they would not sell me the vehicle for what they had it listed as, 3 days had gone by. They had 3 days to figure something like this out. So either they know this and try to take advantage of people or they don't care enough to provide decent service. Shop elsewhere if possible.

The dealer put (2) new tires on the front of the vehicle, yet left the rear ones with 6/32 tread depth because they don't replace them until they are at 5/32. So, I pay $30K for a certified used car and will need to put rear tires on it in roughly 5000 miles. I did not negotiate the price, I thought the vehicle was priced fairly, but I asked them to put (2) new tires on the back, or discount the car $400 and I would have them put on myself. Needless to say they refused both because the tires did not meet their replacement guidelines. Normally I would walk out and find another dealer, but this was the car, the options, mileage, etc. that I had been looking for so I reluctantly bought it. So the first thing I will do is buy (2) new rear tires at roughly $480 so that all 4 tires match on tread life ad the regular tire rotations will be beneficial. Hard pill to swallow when you drop that kind of money on a vehicle. Now for the other details. Overall my sales person was very good. We had been back and forth all week and he provided all the information that I asked for in a timely manner. I was a little disappointed that he didn't fight a little harder for the tires or discount, but overall he did a good job. I was there for quite some time even though I had filled out all the pre-approval stuff earlier in the week. I got there around 10:30 AM and left closer to 2 PM, not the way I wanted to spend the day. The length of time may have resulted in a 4 rating, not sure, but the fact that salesman, used car manager, nor the finance manager would do anything about the (2) tires results in a 2 rating from me and a sincere "I would not recommend this dealership, nor would I buy another car from this dealership".

When asking about the mark up, they were honest and said that is their additional profit and that they do not actually sell cars at the advertised price. I went to another dealership and purchased the exact same vehicle without the markup and with reasonable fees. Buyer beware. They will use deceptive practices to mark the vehicle up. All negotiations were conducted by text message and are documented in writing. I was clearly told that sales tax was included in the out-the-door price. I even have a photo of their computer screen showing the calculated Georgia sales tax (within about $100 of the correct amount), along with screenshots of all our price negotiations. We agreed on a price pending an independent inspection from a local shop -- an inspection they initially told me was unnecessary because they had already completed a "127-point inspection" themselves and through the auction. The independent inspection revealed several costly issues, including ball joints with an estimated repair cost of approximately $2,500. Based on those findings, we renegotiated and agreed on a revised out-the-door price. I informed them I would be paying cash via cashier's check and driving four hours each way to complete the purchase. They assured me the paperwork would be ready when I arrived. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of trusting that everything matched our written agreement and did not re-review the paperwork carefully before signing. Later, I discovered that the Georgia sales tax had been removed from the deal, effectively increasing my cost by over $1,100 when I went to register the vehicle at the tag office. An "out-the-door" price has a clear meaning, especially when sales tax is explicitly discussed and documented. I have written proof of the agreement and will be submitting all documentation to the Tennessee Division of Consumer Affairs regarding deceptive practices and bait-and-switch conduct.
