We were helping a friend's son find a RAV4 to purchase as his first vehicle purchase and we landed at Fox Toyota in Clinton. Our first meeting was with Kenny, the floor manager who put us with KC as our salesperson. Right from the start, I knew this would be a great experience for our friend's son. KC was great, explained everything to him with great patience and gave him a premier experience for his first purchase. There were great inventory options available, and our friend's son purchased one of the new RAV4 vehicles on the lot. No high pressure sales, no gimmicks, not upselling, just honest to goodness salesmanshhip. I'm very satisfied. After working with KC, we then had the privilege to work with financing which was also a pleasant experience. Again, no high-pressure upselling tactics, just upfront and efficient. Initial financing was outside of Toyota as our friend did not have established credit. However, when back at work on Monday, financing reworked things and were able to get him Toyota financing at a lower interest rate. Wow hadn't seen that before! Car I just purchased my new 4Runner with Fox Toyota. I'm so glad I connected with them after having a pretty terrible, slimy experience at a few other dealerships. I worked with Matt Schrider who made me feel like I was his only client. He helped me find what I wanted, didn't pressure me, and was up front about EVERYTHING. Every other dealership I spoke with was charging a "market adjustment" up to $5000 on top of MSRP, but NOT Fox Toyota. My vehicle was en route from the port when I purchased it and Matt updated me every few days on its status. When I came to pay for the vehicle the price was exactly as we had discussed and there was absolutely no trickery. They filled up my tank, gave me a T-shirt, encouraged me to give it a spin, and showed me how to work all the gadgets. I trust Fox Toyota. My uncle has had his truck to Fox Toyota in Clinton 4 times and it still has not been repaired! I am so angry with them because he just got his truck back this morning and on his way home it broke down again. This is unacceptable. I purchased a used vehicle from Fox Toyota in Clinton in 2022. 6 months later the service dept told me the car was bad and to trade out of it. After refusing to pay another down payment, I was told my car was only 2 quarts low on oil and fine. 7 days outside warranty coverage, the timing chain broke causing engine failure. I now have $7800 in negative equity on a car needing $11000 in repairs. Fox has not stood behind the vehicle or service dept. Buyer Beware! read more

Took my 2014 Camry in for 50,000 mi service. In addition to the maintenance, showed my service advisor several places where the paint was peeling off the car. He took photos and the service manager, Gary Coleman, sent them to Toyota corporate. They sent me to their local paint & body shop for an estimate and they covered the entire cost of the paint restoration. They initially said they'd cover $1000 but when the quote came in closer to $1,500, they went back to corporate on my behalf and got them to cover the entire thing. I bought a car at Fox Toyota on Saturday and the experience was great. I'd been to a few other places first because I didn't want to drive all the way to Clinton, but let me tell you - it was well worth the extra drive. I went to Rick McGill Toyota on Alcoa Highway first...the selection was very limited and the guy I worked with was very fast talking and a true salesman. When I didn't like the price I was given and said I wanted to think about it, he left and came back with the owner and another guy. There I was with three men sitting in front of me, trying to talk me into a car that I didn't want, and I did not respond well to that kind of pressure. When I left, I felt like the main guy I'd worked with irritated with me for not buying a car...just didn't seem genuine at all. I left feeling discouraged and overwhelmed and not sure where to go next. I almost went to Carmax just because I figured they wouldn't pressure me since the prices are firm, but then I remembered texting with a guy from Fox Toyota and decided to drive up there and see what he could do. I'd texted him about a car I'd seen online the day before and he made a point to text me the next day (when I was planning to go out car shopping) to let me know that it looked like the car had been side-swiped and painted over and he didn't want me coming all the way out there for it. I thought that was super cool and honest of him. I'm so glad I made the drive to Clinton because the guy I texted with, Paul Moore, was just as nice as he seemed via text. He showed me what I wanted and I felt zero pressure to buy. He let me take all the time I needed and also seemed very knowledgeable about cars (even about the Honda I was looking at, which isn't his specialty at a Toyota dealership). Everyone I encountered at Fox Toyota was friendly, personable, and seemed to genuinely be happy to be there. To me, a tell-tale sign of a good company is employees that are treated well and are happy to be at work. The owner even came out and talked to me for awhile, just to say how much he appreciated me coming in (this was after I bought the car so I know he wasn't just trying to get me to buy). Tristan was very nice but overall a terrible experience. I was trying to purchase a vehicle from out of state and was in limbo for two days in the buying process between Fox and my bank. Between people having days off and not being treated like a serious customer I did not get the chance to buy a vehicle from them. I was called and told that on my third day of trying to purchase this truck that a customer was at the dealership looking at the truck. Seeing that I had the buyers order and my bank was awaiting to hear from the finance department I felt that I was already working a deal on the truck and felt betrayed. Tristan was nice but I felt that I didn't get the truck because he was busy with another customer. I was put on the back burner because I was not physically there and that to me is a terrible way of doing business. Fox Toyota is a family owned new and used car dealership and has been serving the surrounding Knoxville area since 1944. Fox Toyota has been a fully licensed Toyota dealership since 1966 and believes car buying should not be a hassle. I purchased a used 2013 Toyota in August and experienced first hand their "no hassle" policy. Once on the lot I was given ample time to view the inventory before I was approached by a salesman. The salesman was very polite and personable. He was articulate and engaged me with a casual conversation. The salesman didn't even mention the cars for roughly 10 minutes. The salesman spend a large portion of our conversation getting to know me and what my interests were. The conversation made the car search extremely efficient. The salesman seemed to know what I was looking for and didn't push any particular style or model on me. The whole experience was enjoyable and I would strongly recommend Fox Toyota to anyone. As part of the dealership incentives package, I received 3 complementary oil changes within a 12 month window. I have taken advantage of two, so far, and I am looking forward to the third. I have been to multiple chain and local garages for an oil change. The Fox Toyota mechanics and service team are great. From the moment I walked into Fox Toyota they began to try to take advantage of me. I had scheduled my car to be looked at due to a vibrating/rumbling sound I was hearing. They almost immediately diagnosed it as needing an entirely new brake system, to the tune of $4500, which is more than half of what my entire vehicle is worth. I knew that I needed my rear differential coupling mechanism fixed but they also said my drive shaft needed replacement. They could not give me a definite time frame of when they could get parts and be able to do the work. This alone is a bit questionable considering they are a fully-licensed and authorized Toyota dealership and service center. They should be able to make a quick call and get an exact time frame on when parts can be delivered. Despite me asking them to wait before ordering the parts needed, they went ahead and ordered them anyway. When I told them I could not pay that much for brakes and I did not want the work done, they claimed they had to charge me $96 for ordered parts that could not be returned to Toyota. This was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever heard and it took me calling the national Toyota customer service line and 45 minutes on the phone to get it all worked out and the charges removed. They fixed the rear differential coupling for free, as it was under warranty, but I can't help but feel the extra charges they tried to apply for parts was a spiteful move because I had decided against getting my brake work done with them. I am giving them two stars because they did help me out with a rental car while they kept my vehicle, although I think a loaner car, not a rental, is more appropriate for customers already spending money for their car to be serviced. Beware of how much Fox Toyota charges you for their quoted work. I know that dealerships almost always charge more than other places but Fox Toyota seems to take this to the extreme. read more

We have bought multiple vehicles at Fox, and we use them as our service provider for our cars and trucks. This past year they made a mistake while repairing our truck which rendered it inoperable. After speaking with their service manager Gary Coleman, they made an expensive repair to the truck without charge to me. We have used them for years. This is the first time they have damaged anything while our vehicles were in their care, but they did the right thing. They went the extra mile, and did what was necessary to repair their mistake. Looked at a car (for my Daughter), emailed and talked and negotiated a price and then they sold it right out from under me. Didn't have the honor to call and tell me it was about to sell and what was my decision. I was told by Management that it would have been a dishonor to the potential other buyer and that it was my fault. I emailed and text the salesman that I would purchase the car and all I get in return is a text IN ALL CAPS that said, sorry, it is sold. When I called him, he said.."you didn't put a deposit on the car" and I said...."you didn't ask for one" and he replied, guess I didn't, sorry. So, the bottom line is, was told it was my fault after being in active negotiations and agreeing upon a price. People, trust me, THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT HONEST AND THEY DO NOT CARE. Best Service Department Ever! Ron H. and the rest of the service guys came to my rescue on 10/7. My daughter and I were traveling from her college in KY to our home in Atlanta when are car wouldn't start in the McDonald's parking lot in Clinton. I called the service department at 4:52pm and even though they were closing in 6 minutes, Ron sent a mechanic out to jump start my car. I followed him over to their service center and they put a new battery in the car. Unfortunately it wasn't the battery it was the alternator. They did not have the part in stock but were able to order it for me. I also inquired about renting a car and Ron was able to contact Denise the rental agent and she agreed to come back and rent us a car so my daughter could still get home and have 3 full days. I can't thank them enough for their excellent customer service and for going above and beyond for us. At first I had mixed feelings about my purchase. I loved the car and the sales staff was friendly and helpful! I was unhappy that the car did not come with a manual and only had one key. After I had trouble with the convertible top, they offered to send me a manual. I was frustrated when I didn't receive it, even after I asked about it a second time. The car had a dead battery and I had to call a tow truck because I didn't know how to get past the anti-theft system to charge the battery. Finally, the manager did get it ordered and I received it in the mail 2 months later! The convertible top still was not working correctly and I feared that I would receive the same customer service as I did with the manual. However, they were VERY quick to help fix the top and for that I'm a fan! read more

Fox Toyota in Clinton may be good at selling cars (I don't know since after my experience I will never ever buy anything from them again!) But they clearly should stay out of the RV business. Fox Toyota in Clinton stated that the RV they sold us had been inspected by their mechanic and was in good safe running condition. After we bought it the RV broke down nearly immediately and was towed - we found out the body including the roof was filled with rotten wood and the ceiling began to fall in. On our first trip barely 2 hours from home it broke down. It broken down again leaving us stranded in a small town for 3 days. On the way back one of the tires (that we were assured were in good shape) exploded and tore out nearly half of the body including the water system and the bathroom. The awning due to the poor conmdition of the body under the surface ripped off while we were driving on the interstate. There was a temporary fix under the awning and the putty showed once the awning ripped off. This was very dangerous to have happen as we were in the interstate at night. We were told the RV should never have been driven under normal conditions with the temporary fix making the RV unsafe. The RV was sold by the owner himself as the owner/salesperson as safe reliable transportation for our family on a cross country trip. In fact when they posted it the ad said "ready to go on that cross country trip." Ha! They stated that the mechanic had inspected the RV, which they had a salesperson that was knowledgeable about RV's specifically, the oil had been changed and it was safe reliable transportation. We bought from a dealership and not a private party to avoid this very type of situation - Dealerships should be properly informing and selling SAFE RV s that have been properly inspected prior to sale and advertising. We now have documentation and mechanics that are willing to talk about the unsafe condition (not just the axle) that the RV was sold in. We returned home to complain about the way this was handled we were told that they were too busy to deal with us. So I guess once you buy it, they don't care if you ever become a customer again. read more
