If I could give DriveTime-Knoxville 0 stars I would. I came an hour and a half from Kentucky to buy…read morea car from them. The salesman (Colt Miller) said he was a former insurance agent and could get me a great rate on insurance so I trusted he would do everything correctly. Flash forward a week, I receive a letter in the mail from my insurance saying it was canceled due to being sold by an unlicensed agent/broker. When I first contacted DriveTime they informed me it was a scam. I sat on the phone with the insurance company to find out it wasn't a scam and he illegally sold me insurance and lied about several things on the application. When I came to DriveTime with this information they allowed me to take the car back even though it was outside the time frame but they did nothing but sweep the situation under the rug. They took no accountability for their employees actions. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

They sold me an extended warranty which didn't cover the disclose repair issues. Three times it was serviced for same issue. I filed a complaint with TN board of vehicles. Drivetime stated that there wasa 30 day return policy. I made my payments on time until, I couldn't get ahold of them. When I stopped and the car again was in the shop. The problem was not covered -engine blew up again on the interstate. I spent 1000's on tow bills, and diagnosis. In car fax all the repairs are accounted for. The end result: the storage fees were too high and drivetime released the car to be sold for mechanical lean. Drivetime put a unsatisfied report in my credit. I am disabled and my children have health issues. Every time I start to go see them it was a failed attempt. Beware of buying from them. Have mechanic do a complete diagnostic if you going to purchase. Drivetime may offer vehicle for bad credit but the extended policy doesn't cover everything. Better not to pay for their warranty and use Car shield. They lied on the statement to the report agency. ADVICE for drivetime go some where else.

He was patient, responsive, and went…read moreabove and beyond to make our deal happen-- even taking calls and working with his manager on his day off. His level of customer service is exactly what you hope for when purchasing a vehicle, and we would highly recommend working with him. Unfortunately, our experience took a significant turn for the worse once we entered the finance office. Despite clearly and repeatedly stating that we were not interested in any extended warranties or additional products, Christopher Blais continued these options in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. His approach felt more like pressure than customer service, and the interaction became increasingly confrontational and uncomfortable. What should have been a smooth and positive closing process quickly became one of the most frustrating and unpleasant car-buying experiences we have ever had. The level of pressure applied in the finance office was excessive and inappropriate, and especially after our repeated refusals. If it were not for David's efforts, we would have walked away from the deal entirely and taken our business elsewhere. While we strongly recommend David Householder, we cannot recommend the overall experience due to the conduct we encountered in finance. Management should take this feedback seriously, as it significantly detracts from the dealership's reputation.

Was told via email and by phone this spring that I had free services to use (e.g., oil change). When I arrived for my oil change appointment, I was told it was going to be over $200. I went to an oil change place instead. Last week I was told that my rearview mirror (which had popped loose) needed to be replaced and that they would order the part. They said it would take an hour to fix and be about $120. On the day of the appointment, I tried to move to an earlier slot and accidently chose the next day. When I called within 2 minutes of my mistake to keep my original slot, I was told "AI won't do it" and that they "might" be able to work me in. So the new part was there and presumably my opening had not been given away in two minutes, but they wouldn't book me because the computer said no. I went to another dealer that afternoon, and they put the original mirror back on my car. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. No charge. I really don't know what to think about the situation, but I won't be back to Autonation. I keep thinking about my 2024 new car purchase from them, and the price I was given onsite. That onsite price was higher than the emailed price I had been sent an hour or so before by the same person I was talking to onsite. I showed him the email (sent from his email address), and he seemed annoyed, but gave me that price. It was the first of many concerns that I should have heeded a while ago.
