I've been here 5 times since September 2025 (I live about 45 mins away and it's my top pick) and it's always SO GOOD, I'm very picky where I eat out. I like to eat healthy and try to eat VERY clean. This is one of the only places I can eat without feeling sick after. I love the ZK burger because I know where the meat is coming from. Two indoor dining areas and a very nice covered patio with screens blocking the elements. Excellent Service & MENU is Off the Chain!! Great service and cool spot! Bison burger was cooked exactly how I asked (medium rare) and was a good size. Steamed broccoli was not overcooked and was seasoned well. Buffalo chicken sandwich was solid. Chicken was moist. Buffalo sauce is not spicy. Someone else in our group got the chicken parm sandwich. He said the focaccia had a good amount of olive oil. Who doesn't love the Depot? They have such a variety of options, so you can bring even the pickiest eater and find something they'll enjoy. It does get a little loud with the train tracks nearby, but the servers are always on the move, making sure every guest is taken care of. A group of ladies went today, and as always, food was spot on from fried pickles and artichoke dip , to the entrees. We sat out side to celebrate a bday, and they allowed us to bring our own cake. The server was fantastic, food was hot and our drinks were filled. The extra servers that weren't waiting on our table were super nice and polite. I have to say their crème brûlée and their blue cheese dressing knocked it out of the park. Serving sizes are very large, be prepared for doggie bag or split with a companion. We were lucky enough to get a table on the evening of the downtown Christmas parade on December 7th. This place is always hopping, so on such a busy night, we were very fortunate:) Our server was absolutely amazing! I wish I would have got her name. As busy as it was, she was there with refills before we asked, and checking on us throughout our dinner. The food never disappoints. 2 people ordered burgers at our table--one well done and one medium well. My mother hasn't been able to eat beef for over a decade and was looking forward to a good well done burger. She fixed the condiments on her burger and the other person did too. they both picked their burgers up and took bites and mother's burger was pink on the inside. The other person was handed her well done burger. When the burgers were delivered I asked which was well done and the big guy thrust the wrong one as the well done! We won't be back. it was a special time as mother had gone through treatment for an allergy to beef and we had chosen the depot celebrate being able to eat beef again. First of all, The Depot is not a large place and you can expect to wait to be seated. We went at 1 on a Monday. It was packed but we were seated rather quickly. Be sure and ask to be seated inside. Otherwise you will be in an enclosed porch. It's a little drafty in December. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and had the Reuben Sandwich for lunch. Both were tasty and hot when delivered. The service took a while which is understandable since the place was packed. And appropriately, two trains came through with horns ablaze. There's a good reason it's called The Depot! Topped off the meal with the banana pudding. It's tasty but a little variation of the usual. Prices are very reasonable and service is great. Update Todays visit was disappointing. They no longer sell fried green tomatoes. The wings were good. Salty though. The spinach article dip has ZERO seasoning. Strong taste of spinach. No garlic, Parmesan or any flavor really. Hated the chips. Too thick and hard. Fried pickle spears- started out good but the more I ate them the saltier the breading seems to get. Liked the sauce with those a lot. Also detected a string flavor of thyme Our server was great. The place was really busy (noon) as this must be a hot place in town. After an afternoon of antiquing at Springfield Antique Barn we had quite an appetite. At first we were intimidated by the crowd but it took us less than 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress was very busy but attentive and friendly. We tried the chips and salsa for an appetizer it was very good. Chips seemed homemade and hot. Salsa was chunky and had a nice herb flavor. Had the depot themed drink The Engineer, it was mixed correctly and didn't feel watered down. I'm a sucker for duck so I got the Smoked Duck Quesadillas, very delicious. The only thing that keeps this place from a 4 star rating was that it was extremely hot in there and all the workers were walking out back smoking pot. Management get this under control. read more

We've always enjoyed eating here in the past. This time - slow service in middle of the afternoon on Friday. They were busy in their defense. Staff was friendly but slow to wait or check on us. The meal took way too long to arrive. Patti melt was way under done - they seared the frozen patty of chunk meat then assembled the sandwich- then grilled it on each half edge to make it look done. It was clear from my cutting into it - it was undercooked. I even cut it jn fours to see if it was just unevenly cooked to see if any of it was edible but no luck. Waitress knew it was undercooked and volunteered to "heat it back up." We didn't have time so I said no that's okay- she never acknowledged it further and did not offer to take it off bill. We've never been disappointed by anything we've ordered. Some of the staff have been there for years, so they must be treated like the professionals they are. The black bean burger is absolutely incredible in terms of hitting all the right flavors. It is packed with veggies and tastes like it too! Also, I wish I knew the secret to their steamed broccoli. Actually I've been here several times, just kept forgetting to review. I've never had a bad experience here. Service is always good; it does get really busy (because it's so good!) and you may have a wait, but it'll be worth it. Ribs, pastas, sandwiches, burgers are all excellent and you have some great sides to choose from. Also realize it's "the depot" because it was originally a train depot AND there will be at least one train go by about 20 yards from the building so it will be heard! But it's a cool place and well worth it! read more
