There is an option to use My Chart, but rarely, if ever does a doctor reply. It is an MA or staff member. The persons who answer the phones for the clinic are short - tempered; act too busy to talk; rude; one hung up on me the last half hour telling me "you can't keep changing doctors"! Where do these people come from, and how do they get hired on to a health care provider, being the first patient contact! I have huge reqrets that due to my Medicare insurance, this is the only provider available. The last three doctors I have seen, are stoic and act to busy to interact. I am hoping my 4th choice (whom my husband has seen) will be amicable.

I am writing specifically about the Emergency Room. A few weeks ago my husband was getting cardiac…read moretherapy at this facility. He went into V-tach and the nurses in cardiac therapy were quickly responsive and he was transported to the ER. This in no way changed how positive we felt about the cardiac therapy at Indian River. The ER immediately took my husband to a room and started monitoring his heart and started an IV. I was told this could cause sudden death and a hospitalist came into the room and I started asking questions. He told me he hadn't looked at my husband's chart so I had no idea why he came in without any knowledge of my husband's medical history. I told him before I knew that he was going to be admitted that I wanted to know what caused the V-Tach as I was worried about this happening at home and he didn't have any symptoms leading me to believe something was about to go wrong. He then responded that I could go out on the sidewalk and get killed by a car. What? What a way to address a wife who is already anxious about her husband's health and well being. The cardiac unit was good and we did in fact find out the cause and are handling this situation at home with his cardiologist at Mayo Clinic. This was our second visit in 2 years to Indian River ER and the last visit was actually more disturbing. Something needs to change in that ER.

Had an 11 AM appointment, went in early to do the obligatory paperwork and was met by Doctor Lieberman (not a nurse or Technician) and was done and out of the office by 10:45. Staff is very accommodating, pleasant. Doctor was in, worked and out, all business and good sense of humor.

He could not be bothered by my issue. barley looked at it and said 'It could be something, could be…read morenothing' took my money and told me to come back in 3 months. It felt very much like I was less a patient with a medical issue and more just a copay he could extract from me. I left with No answers, just questions. He even asked if i have had a biopsy, but didn't schedule one. I'm cancelling my second appointment today. no point in going and paying the specialist copay if he's just going to give me the same treatment. I can look in my own mouth and ignore what I see just as well without having to pay that copay.
