My last surgery with him they dropped something on my face and it was so heavy that my eyes started to bleed. Dr Dee and his staff are amazing! I have gone to him for 2 injuries, and I am so happy that I did. He has an incredible eye, and noticed a small bone break when he looked at the MRI disk, that was not caught in the report given to us. Something that is super convenient is the live xray that they have in the office. Dr Dee can move your limb to the appropriate spot and take a photo when he sees something, I've never seen anything like this ( and I've had a lot of injuries over the years lol). Dr Dee is super friendly and truly cares about his patients. He is an amazing surgeon, and has worked on the highest level of athletes, including NFL and NBA players, and UFC fighters. I highly recommend. Also, for post care, they have this amazing shock therapy machine. It is FDA approved, but there are only a few in the country. I had shoulder pain for approximately five and a half years. It wasn't as bad at first. However, it got progressively worse to where I often had a dull pain and my sleep was adversely affected. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Dee. We went over my MRI findings and he explained treatment options. Initially tried physical therapy. I, however, did not respond well to it. My shoulder was probably too far gone, and coupled with that fact that my job is very physical in nature, we decided on arthroscopic surgery, which was performed on my right shoulder in May 2020 at Robotics Outpatient Center. I had shoulder impingement syndrome, labral tears in a couple places, a lot of inflammation, and a partial tear in the supraspinatus tendon. A couple weeks before the surgery Dr. Dee went over what would be done, the risks involved, and how long before I would be able to return to my usual activities. A few days prior I was called by Caroline and had forms to fill out that I received via email. I was provided a ride to the surgery center. I finally met Caroline in person and she was very nice and I began to feel more at ease. The nurse, Michelle, spoke to me in a way that made me feel comfortable. Dr. Reyes asked me pre-surgery questions, followed by Dr. Dee. Because the only other surgery I had was wisdom teeth extraction, I was still quite nervous. Their calm, caring, pleasant demeanor made me believe I would be in good hands. The surgery went well. I didn't have any pain until about the next evening once the nerve block wore off. I had Norco for pain and alternated with ibuprofen. An ice machine was provided to help with pain and inflammation. Due to the extensive nature of the surgery and need for rehabilitation, I was given about 7 to 9 months before returning back to work on full duty. I've been going to physical therapy twice a week and am almost back to pre-injury levels of health status and function. Nearly all of my range of motion is back and am mostly working on strengthening my shoulder. Within several months I imagine I will have all my range back and will be strong enough for work. Dr. Dee is easy to talk to and seems to genuinely care. His staff (Christy, Christina, and Erica) in Huntington Beach and ROC are friendly, accommodating, cheerful, and helpful. When I have time-sensitive forms that need to be filled out and sent to my workplace, I am fully confident they're done properly, thereby allowing me to get paid on time. (Thank you, Christy.) However, Dr. Dee still wanted to see my daughter again and charge us: For what?! If you can't treat the ailment, why do we have to see you also?! I went to Dr Dee by referral of one of my doctors. This was 2014. He insisted that I need a knee surgery due to an injury that I suffered. They scare me about falling again and the need to then more surgeries... They put me on a mental state that I felt that surgery was the only solution. The reason behind them to insist on a surgery was because it was going to be in national TV. I agreed that he can do the surgery and that the surgery be recorded for TV since I felt that way everything was going to be right due to the pressure of the cameras. I have a complete private health insurance that will have cover any surgery so there was no need for me to agree to that. In exchange of me allowing that the the surgery be televised he will provide service prior and after the surgery at no cost to me (but he was going to charge my insurance) The surgery didnt went well, we are in 2019 and I am still stiff from that knee. The suffering (physical and mentally) was the worst nightmare. Because I was not put in physical therapy promptly, I created scar tissue that can only be solved with a new surgery which I dont expect to do. He was very nice and even provided with his cell phone when he needed me for the interview and show. After that he was evasive and was not responding to the point that I went to get another doctor (who is an incredible doctor and person). I wanted to forget about everything because it created so much trauma in me, I cant use heels, run or do other things that I was capable before the surgery (and after the injury) but I wanted to move forward. Two years after the surgery I received a bill of $57 dollars for service in the office. When I called no one from his old staff was in the office and whoever answered the phone told me that he did not knew about the situation and someone was going to get back to me but that for all means I needed to pay. Its not about the $57 dollars its about the fact that I am NOT supposed to pay anything as agreed and that after all my pain and suffering the only person that benefit from my surgery was the doctor NOT me. I didnt win anything by being in national TV letting the world know that he was going to do surgery in my knee. As I stated before the only reason that I accepted was that I felt that I have no choice but to have surgery and that I was more confident knowing that it was going to be recorded because I thought that it will make it safer. I decided to move on with my life and forget that everything happened. BUT, today, I was checking my credit report and that $57 dollars is now a collection for $87. I tried one more time to solve this with his office and the collection company since I am NOT responsible of paying anything. No one care to return calls and they told me that I have to pay to have it delete it from my credit report. Someone so uncaring deserves 0 stars. I dont like courts but they leave me no choice than to sue them in court for the money they are charging and ruining my credit. I could have sue him for his lack of care post surgery but I am not that kind of a person. If I am paying $87 to someone that will be the homeless, a shelter or anyone but him. Although he was correct about first thought about what the bump on my gum was, he would not put on his own gloves to examine my mouth. He handed me one glove and handed to me like he was afraid to make skin contact. Dr. Dee is a member of THE GREATER LONG BEACH ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL and MEDICAL GROUP who specializes in athletic injuries, particularly Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Knee and Shoulder Surgery. After suffering shoulder pain for almost 4 years, while other orthopedic surgeons just wanted to give me cortisone shots for the pain, Dr. Dee correctly diagnosed me with shoulder calcification, a partial rotator cuff tear, and impingement, all of which were confirmed with X-ray and MRI. I had gone through multiple physical therapy treatments (months of sessions each time) with no improvements. Dr. Dee recommended surgery as the last resort. I find Dr. Dee with good bedside manners. He is willing to listen to you and answer your questions without rushing. His assistant, Nurse Linda, is very friendly and helpful. She is extremely busy as she is the one working with patients in the office and also coordinating surgeries. But she is on top of everything. I had my surgery on 10/29/09 and have been back for post-op every 3-4 weeks. I'll have my 3rd post-op appointment today. During each post-op, he checks your range of motions to make sure they are on schedule to recovery. He then modifies physical therapy prescription accordingly if needed. Overall I am very happy with the quality of care Dr. Dee and his staff have provided. Wait time is unpredictable. Sometimes I only had to wait 15 minutes but other times I've had to wait longer than I'd like but it's very typical of doctor's office. I think when choosing a doctor, we need to find one whom we're comfortable with because we need to be able to trust the doctor 100%. Don't ever be intimidated because it's your body and you know it the best. Patient (self) education is also very important. Do your own research online, know your symptoms well so you can describe them. And most importantly ask lots of questions. If the vibe is not right, by all means, find someone else. We only have one body, so take good care of it! read more

After I dislocated my knee cap in a gym accident, I went to see Dr. Dee based on a friend's recommendation. Although he seems like a good and competent doctor, the disorganization and lack of consistency of the office can't make up for it. 1. The front office staff is RUDE. I was barely able to walk, even with crutches, and the lady kept on asking me to come up. Right when I walked in, I mentioned that I was a new patient and if I could have the forms, she asked me to sit down and wait while she texted. Called me up to hand me a clipboard that was right in front of her the whole time, then a few minutes after I had sat down, she wanted me to show her my insurance card, little while after that for the co-pay. 2. Dr. Dee ordered an MRI to check if there are any additional damages to my knee. I dislocated my knee on a Saturday and went to see Dr. Dee on Tuesday. I was hoping to get my MRI done later that week so Dr. Dee could quickly assess the damage and I could start Physical Therapy. His nurse highly suggested (or rather forced) us to pick Alliance MRI but the insurance authorization went to a different MRI facility so I was not able to get my MRI done for an entire week. 3. Several staff members at Dr. Dee's assured me that my MRI would be ready in time for my follow up appointment, but on the day of, they said my MRI was not ready and I would need to reschedule my appointment (AGAIN) and since Dr. Dee is only here Monday and Tuesday, I'll have to put it off for another week. Even though Dr. Dee might be a great doctor (not sure due to the limited patient-doctor interaction), the inconsistency and lack of organization of the front office makes this the worst doctors office I have ever visited. Highly suggest NOT to go to this entire Orthopedic group. There are plenty of other Orthopedic groups in the area that could do a much better job. FINAL VERDICT: DO NOT COME read more

Waste of time. Couldn't schedule and appointment for the life of me. They never called back, and I never could reach someone. So finally after a week of trying I drove there in person only to be told they no longer accepted my insurance even though I had an authorization form that says they accept my insurance. To begin, I was unable to contact the office directly by phone. The answering service requests you leave a message so they can call you back when it's convenient for them. As a new patient, they advise you to come in 15 minutes early to complete paperwork. I finished it in about 5 min. Then they kept me waiting for about 80 min past my scheduled appointment before I was seen by an X-ray tech. Once finished with him, they sent me back out to the waiting room so I could sit for another 20-30 minutes before I'm called back to an examination room where I wait for another 10-15 minutes before the doctor enters. He asks me all the standard questions and performs some manual range of motion and palpation tests (I went in with a chronically swollen knee). Then, without significant deliberation, he tells me it's a good idea to get my knee drained and receive a cortisone shot, even though I tell him most of the severe pain has subsided and I was more interested in an explanation of what continually causes this and perhaps an MRI to confirm some solid findings. He doesn't seem to pleased with the idea of me taking the initiative to find out more about my condition and he leaves the room abruptly without so much as a discussion. I sat there waiting a while until I walked out and asked a medical assistant if I should get dressed again. They checked with him and came back to tell me he was done with me and that's the last I saw of him. If you go to this office and have the choice of seeing any doctor there, I would recommend Dr. Duke Ahn. I will post a positive review for him. read more

After 6 month of treatment and 2 surgery a performed by Dr. Dee he was not able to heal my broken Fib Tib . I was tossed to the side with a shrub of the shoulders and a puzzled look to his face. He wrote the referral for me to see a specialist. So if your looking for a specialist don't go see him. He will do the simple fractures. Dr. Dee is an exceptional doctor and I cannot thank him enough for healing my shoulder. After a major snowboarding accident, I was left with several labral tears, a partial rotator cuff tear, and MDI, which involves labral tears as well as capsule-ligaments that have been stretched and are loose. Since capsule-ligaments are thin and can heal loose, like the elastic band of a sock, it can be difficult for the MRI to gauge how loose they are. Therefore it is job of the physician to diagnose and treat it appropriately. After 6 months of physical therapy in an attempt to refrain from surgery, my shoulder was still dislocating and was very loose when doing normal tasks. At this point, Dr. Dee made the call to perform surgery. Surgery is not an easy choice to make and and although my recovery was long and required a lot of dedication and hard work in physical therapy on my end, I could not have asked for a better experience. I felt supported and encouraged throughout the entire process and was given everything I needed for a full recovery. Now my shoulder is even stronger and more functional than it was before. To enhance my recovery, I also received several regenerative injections from Dr. Dee which seemed to help significantly, especially with pain, inflammation, and range of motion. The injections are definitely the medicine of the future and I'm so grateful Dr. Dee is at the forefront of it! Dr. Dee sent me home with a SEPTIC knee joint infection 10 days post-op. Went in with a swollen, hard, hot, red knee. He waltzed in, did not even take my temperature or vitals. Proceeded to tell me he "wasn't impressed with my symptoms," and SENT ME HOME with nerve medication! Luckily my physical therapist demanded someone see me when I went to her the next week. (Dee was "unavailable.") His partner immediately drained my knee and I was in emergency surgery the next morning. Spent a week in the hospital with an infectious disease doctor. Dee never came in to check on me and even tried to charge me for the emergency clean out surgery. Spent another two weeks on IV antibiotics at home, then another 10 days on oral antibiotics. $140,000 later, Dee claimed perhaps the sutures were contaminated. I understand there is always a risk of infection, yet Dee should have been more diligent and thorough when I clearly presented the signs of a septic infection. Sending me home with nerve medication should be a very clear indication of his incompetency. He's lucky I was young and otherwise healthy. He tried to convince me I must have lupus, or some other autoimmune disease. I had the infectious disease specialist test me for everything; I do not have any autoimmune disease for him to blame. The majority of his patients are elderly. Most of them would not have survived what I did. read more

I had left shoulder surgery October 23 2018 at Robotics Outpatient Center - Roc LA. I had left shoulder impingement syndrome long head of the biceps rupture, rotator cuff disease, acromioclavicular joint degenerative disease and a labral tear and extensive posterior labral tear and posterior complete humeral avulsion glenohumeral ligament tear. I personally was concerned about having surgery because I never had any surgery before in my life but I have to tell you that the surgery went really well, I had no pain what so ever I went to every physical therapy appointment and I have 100% range of motion I have the upmost respect for Dr Dee I think he is a great Dr. And I would recommend him to anyone and I have. My recovery time was exceptional, I went back to work at light duty in 2mos and full duty 2 mos after that, I've been water sking snow sking and throwing chains at work with absolutely no problems. I have had knee problems and pain for years. I have had injections in my knee, been on medication and had previous knee surgeries, nothing seemed to help. I saw Dr. Dee. He recommended surgery, when I was told that surgery would not fix my problem. He explained in detail what he was going to do and why. I had my surgery 12-30-2017, came home and took 1 pain pill, expecting to be in horrible pain. I even had my ice machine ready to use (from previous knee surgeries) for the swelling. To my amazement, I had ZERO pain, and never needed the ice machine nor any more pain pills. I started Physical Therapy one week after surgery. Still experiencing NO pain. I did follow directions to the tee. Not wanting to have this surgery fail as previous attempts. I went to PT twice a week and did my PT exercises at home. I saw Dr. Dee this week, 3 1/2 months post op. I feel GREAT and am AMAZED at how well I have done! I can walk, go up and down stairs, kneel and just really enjoy living with ABSOLUTLEY NO PAIN AT ALL. Dr. Dee and the office staff are great, I don't have anything bad to say about my time as a patient here. I came to see the doctor in April because I fractured my fibula and I felt everyone was supportive in my healing process. The office staff was very friendly and it was always easy to change appointment times if I needed to. Also, they made sure I had my disability paperwork to get a temporary handicap placard right away and they were efficient in getting me documents I needed for my job. I felt Dr. Dee always gave me guidance about the healing process for my ankle and I never felt he did anything that wasn't necessary. On my first visit I was put in a boot and he referred me to a physical therapy group that helped wean me out of that very quickly. Overall, I had an excellent experience! Had 2 surgeries 1 yr apart on the same knee for a meniscus tear; did the physical therapy the cortisone shots and visceral shots and prescription ointments and supplements; I have never been the same I'm basically disabled having to wear an off set knee brace in order to walk anywhere, grocery store or run errands or entertainment and activities for a short period before pain strikes and have to rush home and ice or stay off it before it starts to swell up; I have done everything possible and my quality of life sucks nearly, everything I can or can't do centers around this knee, so as far as Dr Dee I don't think I even needed both surgeries on the same knee it only made it worse off; it's been a nightmare. That fact I have good insurance benefited the parties involved with the surgeries and recovery and at that never recovered fully. read more

I'm actually pretty disappointed with my experience with Dr. Dee. I was referred to Dr. Dee by Dr. Nikola at DISC in Marina Del Rey. Apparently, Dr. Dee does not my accept my insurance, but that didn't stop the DISC office staff from bringing me on back for a consult for which I was billed $475 since he was "out-of-network". What the frick? Dr. Nikola billed my insurance $300 for a consult for the EXACT SAME CONDITION (my appointments were one week apart). I already have my MRI, my diagnosis was pretty clear and uncomplicated. Dr. Dee checked my MRI before examining me, instead of the other way around. Ugh, treat the patient not the imaging! I'm sure he's an excellent surgeon, but his front office staff rudeness will destroy his practice if he doesn't get that under control quick. The girls at the front desk seriously need retraining. Bitch, I'm 20 feet away from you and I CAN HEAR YOU TALKING ABOUT ME AND EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WAITING ROOM. Their failure to warn me that he is not in-network and the resulting consult fee that I have to pay out-of-pocket for is the reason he will not be performing my surgery. I didn't have my reading glasses with me when I arrived to find out that I had to redo all of my documents. When I explained that I couldn't see the printing (small and printer was nearly out of ink), they made a big deal about having to find someone to sit with me to go over all the questions. They called their office manager and told her loud enough for everyone to hear that "she apparently can't read and needs someone to do it for her - she wouldn't even try" WOW! That's not how it went down at all - I did try and yes, I can read. After sitting around for almost 45 min waiting for the office manager to help me read the documents and then again for another 30 min past that, we were an hour and fifteen min past my scheduled appt time. Dr. Dee saw me for a hot minute and ordered an MRI. The MRI facility down stairs messed-up and only took pics of half the injured area - lined things up incorrectly. when they told Dr. Dee - he told them it was fine, they got enough - they called me to relay this exchange - probably CYA. However, when I showed up to go over the results, Dr. Dee informs me that they missed half of my foot and that couldn't really tell what was going on. He asked the student he was training for an opinion and they both stammered before telling me the test was inconclusive. He sent me home with an insane walking cast, "come back in 6 weeks" - Seriously?! Up side, his assistant is an absolute sweetheart - very kind, friendly and efficient - the only one in the entire office. He visited me for 5 minutes after 2 hours of waiting, didn't explain much about the problem, and he charged my insurance $160.00, he is not patient and not friendly at all! read more

Our 16 year old Daughter tore her ACL, partially tore her Meniscus playing soccer. My wife and I went to the original orthopedic and we were told it was definitely an ACl tear and recovery would be no less than 12 months. We then met up with Dr. Dee. He looked at her MRI and also said she has an ACL tear but found a partial tear on her meniscus. He decided to reexamine and take an X-ray of her knee right then and there. He also found loose knee cap and looseness in both LCL and MCL. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable of this type of injury. His facility and staff in HB was top notch. We left his office in shock because the previous Dr who looked at my daughter never pointed out the tear in her meniscus. Just to be sure we went and got another opinion from another Dr. and he too was like the first orthopedic. Needless to say we were very impressed with Dr. Dee and his staff. We met with Dr. Dee and he explained what he would do to repair her knee. We were blown away by his expectations after surgery. He told us that with what he can do and the procedure he was to perform, best case scenario is that she can return to full soccer in 5 months to as long as 9 months. We were amazed!!! We immediately wanted to schedule surgery. My Daughter went in a week later for surgery. We went to his surgery center called ROC LA, again we were blown away by how great his surgery staff at ROC LA was. The facility was top notch and the nurses were amazing. After surgery the nurses gave us their cell number they can keep in contact with us on her progress. My daughter is 2 weeks post op, has made great progress already, we go to Repair Sports Institute 3X a week for Physical Therapy which is also where DR. Dee has his office. She works with Dr. Chris and again this place is crazy amazing. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Dee + ROC LA and Repair Sports Institute. If you want top notch Dr.'s and Facility's ESPECIALLY for high-level athletes whose body is their livelihood / dream. You have to check them out. Thank you Dr. Dee and staff!!!
