My wife and I are always looking for new places to eat. After attending the home show in St Charles we headed to Yelp and DeRienzo's came up. So we decided to take the short drive to try it out. We were greeted immediately by the bartender Heather. She was very friendly and everyone in the bar seemed to be regulars which always makes us feel good about our choice. My wife ordered the ham grinder I think it was , and as always, anytime I go somewhere new I had to order the pizza. My pizza while a little pricey for a 12" was delicious. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. My wife loved her ham grinder , but didn't care too much for the fries ( it happens). All in all a great experience. Heather was great, food was great, conversation was great. If you haven't found this place yet, give it a try, who knows you may become a regular. read more

Warm and friendly location. The music and TVs sound is kept at a level you can actually converse w/o talking loudly. Food is good though hot food on cold buns I'm not a fan of. Servers/Tenders are attentive and very friendly. Love the "flip-off" pics! read more

Had the chance to try the at a wonderful small pizzeria just up the road from work on Jungerman, just passed QT you will find DeRienzo's Pizza & Pub. Great staff and service as well as the few very friendly guests. A very warm and welcoming environment. I have to say, this is the best St. Louis thin crust pizza I have ever had. Walking in the doors, the smells are amazing!! But the best is how amazing the pizza is! I ordered just a 2 cheese with very light sauce, and they got it right on the ! The chains never get it right, often as if they are dyslexic and pour so much on, its more like soup than sauce. This will be a few meals that I will completely enjoy, and I will definitely be back. The next time anyone feels like having true pizza and drinks, head to DeRienzo's. First time at DeRienzo's. There was a man blocking the front door smoking a cigarette on my way in. No one's fault except his but he could have moved to either side of the door... There was no obvious hostess when I walked in so I just found a table and sat down. After a minute I went over to the bar and asked one of the bar tenders if you order at the bar or if there is table service. She said she'd wait on me and asked where I was sitting. I motioned in the direction and said I'd grab a menu and look it over while I waited for my dinner date to arrive. Simultaneously my friend walked in and the waitress stopped at our table. We ordered some drinks and started looking over the menu. I already knew I was there for the pizza! I seriously considered The Viper and one other pizza but went with plain pepperoni because that's generally my favorite topping and how I judge pizza before I branch out. I asked the waitress if they make the toasted ravioli or if it was frozen and she honestly didn't know but said she figures they are frozen. I stuck with the pizza and my friend went with the burger. When she set the pizza down in front of me I already knew I was going to like it with the orange provel and black bits around the edges. The crust is among the thinnest in town and very crisp. Pizzawas good, but the pricing for a bud your own was silly. I picked 3 veggie toppings and anchovies, and it ended up being more than a pizza with all the meat toppings. Bottom line, give this place a try. The Pizza is OUTSTANDING. If I could do 3.5 stars I would though. It's not perfect. We tried it for the first time based on the news article about winning the square-off and we live in St Peters so only 10 min from home. Our visit was lunch time on a Saturday so they were pretty slow. Other than guys at the bar, we were the only table dining until right before we left. The service was friendly and as attentive as necessary. Our waitress was also the bartender at the time. Like any good pizza joint they have a pinball machine, always a plus in my book. Currently it's one of my favorites, Ghostbusters but I believe they rotate them. The pizza was delicious, ample tasty toppings (sausage, pep, 'shrooms and onions in our case). The crust was excellent, done just right. So here's the downside from our perspective: 1) Toasted Raviolis are mediocre. Not house made (I asked) and their sauce is a chunky sauce. Maybe a personal thing but my better half and I both prefer a smoother, pureed marinara with ravs. Regardless the ravs themselves were just meh. 2) Totally a subjective thing but they have Pepsi products and no Diet Dr Pepper. We prefer Diet Coke and/or Diet Dr Pepper. 3) It's a smoking establishment. They say smoking only at the bar but it's all one big room so that's pointless. Not to be political but I would really like to see smoking banned in all restaurants. All that said, I would give this place another visit just because I really enjoyed the pizza. Pricing was reasonable for the pizza. The so-so T-ravs are way over-priced, especially for what they are. Check it out. read more

Toppings were light and disappointing. Hardly any cheese or sauce or anything else. I ordered carryout, the person taking the order and delivering it upon pickup was pleasant, nice and very busy. The inside atmosphere is more bar and less family feel. There was vaping and smoking. There's very few people lucky enough on this earth to live near DiRenzo's pizza! Lol this awesome couple has created an amazing menu, and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. I would suggest following them on Facebook, and trying any special they have almost weekly. This man knows how to cook, and smoke BBQ. That's hard to find. I've tried everything from the prime rib sandwich which I highly suggest, i've also enjoyed their Chicken Parmesan sandwich, to the big Chicago. Very pricey for the price it was $23 for a large 2 topping but the pizza was very thin (thinner than most St. Louis style pizza) so even a small guy like myself I ate almost 3/4 a pizza when I got it. This was a nice find discovered by the Pizza Passport. A Truly neighborhood bar where everyone knew each other. The pizza was a true St. Louis style thin crust pizza, but being from Chicago we did order the sausage, mushrooms and onions. I recall a good crisp crust and fresh mushrooms (a bar surprise) but the Italian sausage was very good. The owner waited on us and service was excellent. I would have given it a 5 but it's just too darn loud in there for me. Recommend something on the walls to absorb the noise. read more

Just tried for the first time today. The place had a decent amount of people during lunch time and there was only one girl working the front of house. Even though she was the only one there the service was still good and she was very friendly. We ordered a large pizza with extra cheese, sausage, and pepperoni. It was very good and way better than I expected. I eat a lot of pizza so I am very picky with it. The crust was crispy but not overcooked, the sauce was good, and they put a proper amount of extra cheese on. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes St. Louis style pizza with provel cheese. They also have mozzarella cheese for anyone that doesn't care for provel. read more

This pub and pizza style restaurant is definitely a winner when it comes to the pizza. I ordered a Big Joe's supreme and it was worth the wait. The thin crust was crisp and chewy St. Louis style and the many ingredients blended well with one another for a generous mouthful. The beer was cold and I will be back to sample the brews on the menu. There are plenty of big HD screens available for the sports fans, so I can definitely recommend for a casual date or friendly get together. read more

After I did the guy didn't hang up the phone and I heard him say some rude things. Inexcusable. Make sure you hang up before you trash a customer or make jokes. Still went to pick up the food. Walked up to the bar and sat in front of the bartender. She was talking to someone next to me. No hello or acknowledgement whatsoever. 10 minutes of waiting, 3 ladies walking behind the bar before a young waitress spoke to me. She was very friendly and helpful. Take food home. Pizza was ok. Not the best I've had but pretty good. I'd eat it again. The wings, however, were great. I eat a lot of wings and these were damn good. I've heard the sandwiches are great as well and I'd like to try other menu items but I'm not sure if I'll be back or recommend. Aside from the one waitress the service was awful. Another hidden gem located in a strip mall! This hidden gem even allows smoking still. It was such a joy to be able to enjoy some great Italian food while also having the reminiscent odor of cigarette smoke. I had the Chicago sandwich it was top-notch being from Chicago I would say it's definitely from the Windy City, The sausage was perfect and the beef was tender and tasty. I would highly recommend this sandwich however next time I eat here I will be trying another menu item. The menu is awesome lots of options and reasonably priced. Had some cheese pizza with my sandwich was excellent lots of flavor seem to have some good garlic undertones. Definitely be back for the pizza also! The pizza and salad were very good, but the service was awful...really awful. These people have serious process problems that result in all the servers working behind the bar mixing drinks and not waiting on the dining room. How about having bartenders mixing drinks and servers waiting on tables in the dining room? Our server was pleasant but wasted lots of steps, forgot things and left us sitting for long periods of time. When we first sat down we waited for 10 minutes before anyone came over, then multiple servers came over, each promising to bring menus but none did. I get food to go here once or twice a month. Always fresh and good, reasonably priced. The bartenders are all friendly and a couple are excellent. This is a neighborhood bar with a Cheers atmosphere. I'm convinced someone's name must be "Norm!" Appears to draw a 30-60 crowd of couples, with some construction and local workers. I've never been there after 7 pm, so can't share anything about the evening crowd. Restrooms are clean and I'm comfortable sitting at the bar to order a drink while I wait for my food. People will usually chat with you. Hope they survive the pandemic. I like to see good local places make it. read more

DeRienzo's is one of those places that has everything you could want in a pizza and pub joint. The waitresses make it a point to try to know you by name and the food is actually too good for a bar. The pizza rivals any in town, but their daily specials are beyond amazing. They go out of their way to get the best ingredients from the hill for many of their italian style sandwiches and offerings and the quality and care given to each order shows. The beer is still affordable and you can catch a game or just visit with friends. I visit this place about once a week just to get one of the specials and a cheap cold beer from a place that makes you feel like family from your first visit. read more

This is the best St Louis style pizza around. The crust is thinner than most, yet still retains crispy goodness. The topping aren't greasy, either. The sausage tastes homemade, too. We haven't had a chance to sample much else except pizza and toasted ravioli, but haven't also felt the need to. The pizza is that good. I really need to try the sandwiches though; they look awesome. Service is always friendly. A nice neighborhood spot. Also, the previously mentioned comments regarding smoke; well, the place is now smoke free and this is no longer an issue. Simply the best thin crust pizza in St. Louis. The wings are excellent. Good burgers as well. The only thing keeping me away from giving a 5 star rating is the price point. The meat lovers pizza is terrific but steep in price. This place used to be smoking but they did away with that so we frequent it more than before. Give it a try.
