I cannot possibly say enough positive things about Dermaspace! I've had bad acne ever since 5th grade, and over time it has evolved. I have never had anything work, that being Proactiv and prescription medication from dermatologists. It wasn't until I started receiving the Iderm treatment that I *finally* noticed a difference! I have extremely oily skin, and after a few treatments I noticed my skin did NOT look like someone pie-d me with a tin of vaseline by 2pm. Because it did, everyday. Clean, Clear Skin, here I come! It almost feels as if my skin is breathing again! Had my first 2 sessions with Jody thanks to a Bloomspot! Loved it, saw a package deal they offer directly through the salon: buy 4, get 5th free. I think it's now buy 5 get 6th free though. $90 for Jody to 'work out' my skin is a great investment. compared to more 'frou frou' facials. Great skin is nice, getting your face clear, smooth, and a deal? That's just awesome! I tried everything and finally only accutane for 2 years cleared my skin up, but it's been 4 years since I stopped that regimen and my skin has started regressing again. I am a little claustrophobic so I was nervous about the heat dome and mask, but it's not that bad and easy to get used to. They will quickly become your favorite parts if you have a lot of breakouts like me, because the extraction part is painful! (not any more so than a regular facial though.) Watch his video of the process, very true to what actually happens. Jody is very skilled and always checks in with you for comfort and pressure, I believe there is no gain without pain, so I let him have at it with the extraction portion. I definitely don't feel cheated when I leave dermaspace - your face will be squeaky clean. There is a noticeable difference after one session! My face was clear for a week! 2nd session I had some peeling the first week and clear skin the 2nd week. I see him every 3-4 weeks now. RUN don't walk to Dermaspace.....Seriously, this is hands down the BEST facial treatment I have ever had, and I've been around the block... First off, Jody makes you completely comfortable, explaining every step along the way. He takes his time and works with care. The office is gorgeous and conveniently located. Online booking is a snap, and by the way, Jody is a totally hilarious and warm person. I have been slathered with random goop and crap in fancy spas, only to find my face dry and peeling or red and irritated days after. I'm one of those sensitive-skin-gingers. Really. If you look at me wrong, I break into hives. So, I was nervous to see what my reaction would be to the treatment-but, alas, it was perfection! I had no weird irritations or dryness afterwards as I am prone to. My skin just looked and felt amazing. The last time I saw him I thanked him for "finding my face" again. The questions I get after the Iderm treatment are: "You look great!!...did you lose weight?...get your hair done?"...are you wearing new makeup?". A little bit ago I had an incredible facial session with Jody. It was relaxing, cleaned my skin right up, and was generally a good facial. I had a "real facial" a couple weeks ago at a spa. Came in for my first facial here. I opted for the glycolic acid peel. Cora was my esthetician. She was super friendly, knowledgeable and informative. She would always tell me what she was about to do before doing it so there were no surprises. Taking away a star because it did seem a bit rushed - even though I was early to my appointment, we started late but still finished within an hour even though their website says 60-90mins. Also because the front desk guy wasn't initially the friendliest when I checked in. However, after my facial, checking out with him was fine so maybe he just had a bad morning. I didn't see much of a difference in my skin after just one facial, didn't expect to. I was a disbeliever in such treatments, but my partner prompted me and I figured hey why not - even if it didn't work, it would probably be a relaxing cool experience. Jody (owner and treatment dude) said my skin would glow once all the crap was gone out of my pores. I chuckled somewhat in disbelief but wouldn't you know it... my skin looks BRIGHTER and it freakin glows. There were little black or dark areas deep in my pores, and now they are gone! My skin feels completely different, and I love it. What I REALLY like about this is that it's nothing fake or weird, it's just a good, deep cleaning. Be warned that the rigorous pore cleans is only part of it - you also spend time under a heated, conical mask while nutrient-rich gel permeates your skin, then you finish off with another mask that draws skin friendly vitamins and moisture into your skin. The cone mask gel-substance is especially aromatic - I think it smells like yucca, but it isn't yuck-a! So yes. I always hate the thought of getting a facial. I feel that it's phony, overpriced and done by a makeup counter gal at a major department store. Chante is my lifesaver!! I've seen a lot of estheticians in Seattle and haven't been that impressed with anyone. I started seeing Chante at Dermaspace over a year ago and I will never see anyone else! Not only is she so fun to talk to, she's highly knowledgeable on different kinds of skin issues. She's super attentive and always takes her time to listen to my concerns and give advice but never makes me feel pressured. She's the only esthetician I've seen who just genuinely cares about my skin. She's also the best person to see for a detailed extraction, always taking her time to make sure every single pore is clean. This is the best part, especially for someone who is prone to clogged pores. It's difficult to find someone who is so detailed but Chante never rushes this step. I've been here twice now and have had positive experiences both times. The first time I saw Chante who was great! She explained the process and made me feel comfortable the entire time. It was very relaxing and she was super thorough with the extractions. Definitely went over the full hour. My only critique is that I wasn't asked about sunscreen during one of my visits so I had to ask, and I was directed to a bottle in the room. When I put it on, it wasn't compatible with the moisturizer Dermaspace uses so it pilled.. I followed up less than a month later and I haven't seen any big changes in my skin other than it being super soft afterwards, but I didn't expect that since they recommend visiting every 1-2 weeks. They're open pretty late which is nice since I can schedule appointments after work. I had an appointment for this weekend that I needed to reschedule and noticed the only appointments available before tomorrow afternoon were with Jody, and I completely understand that he is not taking any new clients to make sure he has time for existing clients. Since it was very last minute and there were two slots available I thought I'd be able to still see him so I called late afternoon today but was told by the receptionist that they'd rather leave the two spots for tomorrow morning open for existing and returning clients. A little disappointed since I'll be out of town for almost a month but I hope to see Chante again when I have time. read more

I didn't really know what I was getting into beforehand--the standard facial here is not a spa facial, it's a special electric treatment that helps the products penetrate. But Kailey was so calm and skilled, and her beautiful clear skin is a testament to the modality! It's a slightly unusual procedure but still relaxing and seems effective--my face feels and looks great. I had a facial with Chante and the experience far exceeded my expectations. Upon checking in, I was quickly taken to the treatment room. There was music playing and soft lighting. Chante came in to discuss my online request (for a PCA peel) and recommended a different approach (Glycolic peel and IDERM facial). She thoroughly explained what would happen and the benefits of each option. I felt completely informed and proceeded with her recommendation. The experience was different from other facials I had. During my time with Chante, my face was wrapped up like a mummy, I had electrodes attached to my face, and ended up with a heat mask draped over my head (which I can only assume made me look like I was ten months early for Halloween). All of these "theatrics" (as I would've referred to them before) must really work because my skin is extremely soft and bright looking 24 hours later. I have terrible tanning bed damage I've been trying to reverse for over a year and this facial made a noticeable impact on the brown sun spots. I was recommended to try DERMASPACE for my first facial and I don't think I'd ever go any other place! The office is conveniently located in the Medical Dental Building and parking is easy at Pacific Place across the street. The space is very nicely decorated and comfortable for a bit of a wait if you get facials with a friend. The hot tea was a nice touch! On my visit I saw Chanté who in my opinion works wonders! She explained the entire process to me and made me feel at ease with what can seem a strange facial to the uninitiated. After the hour, my skin felt entirely clean, calm, and relaxed. Since my appointment, my skin has been glowing and have had no problems with blemishes. I find it is also feels much cleaner with a normal nightly cleansing than it did before the facial. This is WAY overdue and I really had no plans to write a review, but I got an email from them asking me to submit a Yelp review. So they get what they asked for: They might be a 5-star business, but only IF you actually get to make an appointment and IF they actually be at the office at the time of your appointment. I made an appointment with Jody, I got an automatic email confirming my appointment at 2:30 AM... Yes, 2:30 in the MORNING. So, I had to call again later to fix it and the receptionist said, oh, sometimes this calendar gets weird and doesn't work right. No apologies, lame excuse blaming it on the technology. I wanted to book 2:30 PM but turned out it was booked, so I had to postpone my appointment for a couple of weeks. IMAGINE, had I not paid attention to the AM/PM thing and had showed up there at 2:30 PM instead... Of course they would not have been able to see me and of course they would have blamed it on me and the technology. Their next available appointment was on a big shopping day; Black Friday. You don't need to be from Seattle to know that downtown Seattle gets super crowded on Black Friday. I actually asked the receptionist if he is sure that they'd take appointments that day and he said he is positive and they have other appointments scheduled. I was leaving the country that weekend, so I took it. So, I headed there an hour early knowing that parking would be a problem, found a parking a few blocks down, plowed my way through the crowd to their building, took the elevator, and here I am at the door.... but nobody is there. Looking around for possibly another entrance, nope... all the lights are off, so I called their number and left a message. I thought to wait maybe someone shows up and I started reading my emails.... there I saw an email from them sent AN HOUR (58 minutes to be exact) prior to my appointment saying that they'd like to cancel my appointment.... There was a cell number to call back so I called but all I got was another lame excuse, "downtown traffic is much worse than we anticipated, we did not realize how much congestion there would be, also our other appointments got cancelled and Jody doesn't think it's worth his time driving all the way there for one appointment." and he added that he tried to call my number THAT MORNING but the number he had on file was off by a digit. Sure, blame that on technology too, sir... Later on they texted that Jody likes to offer $20 off my next appointment. I thought for a business that TAKES your credit card number in order to make an appointment for you, charges you full price if you miss your appointment, and charges you $50 if you don't give them cancellation notice 24 hrs before the scheduled appointment, this $20 was too "GENEROUS". So, I texted the receptionist back that I have paid $18 only for parking, Jody is more than welcome to keep the $20 to himself. BTW, I just looked at their reviews and found it interesting that out of 62 reviews to this date, 44 of them are from people with almost no other reviews or with less than 10 reviews max and nearly no Yelp friends. And only 2 elites. 27 glamorous reviews from people who have only a couple of reviews are also filtered by Yelp. Oh well! You be the judge. PS. It's difficult to describe the impact Jody has made on my life. Acne runs in my family, and I started seeing a dermatologist when I was eleven. Since then I have been prescribed and tried almost every topical and oral medication out there. The only facial where the results keep getting better as the week goes by! My face is a combination of shiny, dry and sensitive. I'm always searching for the best product to even my skin tone, shrink pores and cover up old acne scars. When I met the owner, Jody, he promised his Iderm treatment would definitely help tighten and soften my skin. My friends were absolutely gushing about their results, so I eagerly booked an appointment. Dermaspace is conveniently located on the 15th floor of the Medical Dental building across from the Pacific Place parking structure. The zen-like atmosphere immediately calmed me and gave off a spa vibe. Jody welcomed me in with a big smile and explained the process in detail and what I should expect of my face in the coming days. Jody began by exfoliating and placing warm cloths soaked in Yucca on my face and neck. A heat dome over the face helped keep the temp consistent and allow the Yucca to penetrate the pores and work its detox magic. The warmth felt soothing and relaxing. After 15 minutes, he came back to cleanse my pores by hand and also with a tiny tube shaped vacuum. More cloths soaked in vitamins and minerals were laid on my face...then came the Hannibal Lecter mask. I came prepared by watching Jody's video featured on Evening Magazine. This part still made me nervous to know that my face was going to be electrocuted. Jody assured me that the low electric current would only give me a slight tingle, and he would adjust to my comfort level. I was amazed that I hardly felt a thing. An eyebrow twitch every now and then, but everything was completely tolerable for the full 20 minutes. The electric currents help the vitamins and minerals to penetrate deep into the pores and tighten/rejuvenate the skin. When the mask was removed, my face felt like a baby's bottom! It was soo smooth and everything felt noticeably tighter. The best part was the days following when my skin seemed to be improving. I went without makeup the very next day, and my skin was still glowing and not shiny! Almost a week later, and I'm still impressed. I can't imagine getting a "regular" facial ever again. I've seen Jody twice now and unfortunately, my skin has not reacted well to his facials. I usually don't break out, but after my facials in both instances, I've gotten red bumps along my cheeks, jaw line, and forehead within a day =/ I don't have super sensitive skin, so I'm not sure what's going on.
