It is great that you can see what is happening behind the scenes with windows that view into the kitchen. Then you approach the baked goods section and then it becomes hard to choose. Fresh croissants and cookies are the recognisable goods. Other goods I can't pronounce or spell however, the mochi is always an excellent choice. These mochi baked goods took time to perfect, so enjoy it here. The first wave of service is nice, they will help you get pastries and baked goodies. Then you approach the register where you can order food and drinks. This last visit everyone was very nice and helpful. We received our food quickly. Thanks Perenn for all the good you offer.

As a longtime Reno customer I've watched them grow from a single location into a multi-state restaurant group with six locations across Nevada and Tennessee -- and that growth is well deserved. That said I do want to share one honest observation. On top of premium pricing -- which I'm happy to pay for quality -- Perenn also charges subscribers for their Substack newsletter. For an independent bakery scraping by, that makes complete sense. For a thriving six-location restaurant group with real momentum and expansion capital, it feels like a bridge too far. The brand story and the people behind it are genuinely compelling -- that content should be how you invite customers deeper into your world, not an additional revenue line. The food earns five stars. The Substack paywall earns a raised eyebrow. Share your story freely -- you've clearly earned the audience.

Lori texted me back immediately and I sent her pictures of what I was looking for. I needed a cake for my 15th anniversary that was a replica of our original wedding cake. She was very confident in her ability to get something almost exactly as the picture and even offered some ideas for a topper (since the original was a three-tiered cake and what I was ordering was a simply 12" round version). I needed it within a week, so I didn't give her a lot of time, but she was unphased by the deadline. Her pricing was very reasonable, and we set a date and time for it to be picked up. The cake was ready perfectly on time, and was absolutely beautiful... actually even better, to be honest. The next day I surprised my wife with it and she also loved how it looked ... and more importantly, how it tasted. So delicious! (it was a spice cake). Worth every penny! Thank you, Lori!

Holy moly, she knocked his ELO cake out of the park!! This year we went with a different music group and had to brainstorm the design. She's so easy to work with! Edit: Duran Duran reposted my child's post on their social media account (stories) and commented! Aside from the aesthetics, her cakes are deelish! They're baked perfectly and exactly what we ordered. She's such a kind, accountable and FUN person...I'm excited to see what we create next year! We're grateful for you, Lori!!

We got a chocolate croissant (only decent thing I got, but don't compare it to an artisanal made croissant where it's a dark golden brown with flaky crispy buttery layers). Their "croissants" are more like anemic, soft, moist bread. Also, got a cheese Danish. Starbucks sells a better cheese Danish than this place. The Danish was dry and hard and the center filling looked like it was pre-made frozen and just placed on top of the Danish. Finally, the worst of the worst, I got a personal size dutch apple crumble pie. Now THIS looked like it was made from scratch and I had hopes for this one. However, I took a piece of the crumble topping and ate it. It had an unusual funny taste. Almost like it was made with lavender. Didn't taste quite right. Then, when I got back to my hotel, I really dug into it. It wasn't just the crumble that was off, but the entire pie tasted of rancid spoiled butter. I had to spit it out, it was horrible. I can't believe they would serve that. I don't know how old that thing was, but they need better quality control. The only people I could see giving this place 5 stars on the food, are locals. Tahoe is behind when it comes to quality high end artisanal pastries. I have yet to find a decent coffee shop. Their sign boasts "Voted Best in Tahoe", but you'll see that almost every spot here has the same sign, from ice cream shops to bakeries to whatever else because there's literally nothing here. If you're from a big city, don't come here. Service was pleasant. No complaints.

Immediately loved the vibe; colorful, mural filled space with many seating options, a lunch counter and an outdoor patio area. Super chill, friendly staff serving an eclectic clientele. I'd give it five stars if they were a bit more on point with the Cuban end of things. My wife and I are Anglos, but we're both Miami natives, so we're kind of purists when it comes to our Cuban stuff. This was definitely more "Latin inspired." We were looking forward to traditional pastelitos, but found they had more Mexican sweets and a guava and cheese brioche, which was delicious, but not authentic. Our Cuban sandwich had no pork and the wrong bread (and came with tortilla chips?), but the sandwich itself was quite tasty. And our cafe cubano was a nice coffee, but a bit thin and had only the amount of sugar a sane person would add, which is about a third of what would be in the real deal. So if you want authentic Cuban, this isn't really it. But if you're looking for good coffee and food served by cool people in a warm, funky environment, this place rocks.

We ordered the BBQ Pork Buns, Minced Pork Dumplings, and Sui Mai. We took everything home and steamed it ourselves. I also picked up a Napoleon pastry from the bakery case. The BBQ Pork Bun was good with nice flavor. I would order it again, especially since I don't know of many other places in Reno where I can get one of my favorite dim sum items. The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.

We took five different slices of cake and two almond berry cream cups to some friends house for after dinner. They were not impressed. And we tried a bit of each one. I thought the almond cup with fruit had Bavarian cream it was just whipping cream of some sort. So that was disappointing. Then the host, the Husband, after asking what he thought he said an impressive. And it seemed like the cakes were a bit dry. The cheesecake with strawberries on top had an interesting texture. They looked pretty, but the taste was uneventful. So I think I will probably stick to some of the other bakeries in town. They do have fresh breads, though if you're looking for a nice roll or something like that. i'm giving three stars due to the lunch we have. As for the desserts it would've been a two star.

I love all of the pastries at Perenn, but the chocolate bouchons are truly exceptional, and if you want to splurge, the grab-and-go freezer is great, too. My wife is also a huge fan of their matcha. Specifically, they do a coconut cloud matcha, which is a base of lightly sweetened coconut water topped with a matcha foam. It's perfectly sweet and incredibly refreshing on a warm day. The ambiance here is perfectly upscale and accessible. The decor is very chic, and their outdoor patio space is very nice. The service is always great, and though there can be a huge line, it often moves quickly. My only wish for Perenn would be that I could visit more often!
