The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. This is fifth generation ownership. You heard me correctly fifth generation. You don't survive five generations without integrity. Unfortunately, the clasp replacement needed to be sent out, which did surprise me as I just assumed there was an on-site jeweler who could do small repairs like that. The set was in need of a cleaning so we added that to the order. Fortunately, the Representative informed me that the jewelry I was bringing in should not be cleaned in one of those ultrasound machines. I am so glad she told me that. I did not ask for an appraisal this time because funds were a little tight but toward the end of the year, I will consider bringing all of our jewelry to them so that we can update our insurance. They went out of their way to accommodate my schedule, which did not allow for me to pick up for several months. They kept in touch, as did I to make sure that my daughter said was well cared for until we could get there. Just a tip for the public;, the price of precious metals has skyrocketed so any Repair may set you back a bit more than you expected. I felt that the price was fair, all things considered. Would I shop at Zimmer Brothers Jewelers in the future? Absolutely! They have an extensive collection of unique jewelry and a reputation that has lasted more than 130 years. I stopped in the day before dropping it off to check how long it would take and was told a few days at most. I dropped it off on a Thursday and was told it might be done that day, probably by Friday, definitely by Saturday at the latest. They said they would call me to update me. No one called, and Saturday rolled around so I called and found it wasn't ready. We had a big party to attend the next day where everyone wanted to see the new ring and alas could not. We were both very disappointed I stopped in the following Tuesday and was told it would DEFINITELY be done by Thursday, someone would call me when it was ready. Thursday rolled around, and no one called. I called them and they said it would not be ready until Friday. This meant my fiance had to completely change her plans and drive an hour out of the way because it was late again. Thankfully, it actually was ready that day, but a week after we were originally told it would be ready, then again a day after we were guaranteed it would be ready again. The lady who I spoke with during the week was very apologetic and nice. I spoke with the owner once and he seemed clueless as to who I was and where my ring was, and did not seem to care. There is another lady who worked weekends who was not nice and very bossy with my fiance. It seems like no one really knows what is going on and I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. They charged us the full estimate despite all the F*** ups and getting the ring late.
