Horrible experience! This was my first visit since I am new in town. I went to a previous dentist and hygienist in Ojai every six months and was never alerted to any gum disease. I was alarmed that this office wouldn't even do a cleaning because of this "gum disease" and referred me to a periodontist for a deep cleaning and scaling. The periodontist, Dr. Yeoung, said I not only needed a deep cleaning, but also bone grafting and possibly implants. Alarm bells went off in my head because I have been so diligent with my dental hygiene for years and never even have had any bleeding during a cleaning. Also, it was going to be thousands of dollars that I didn't have. (Delta Dental would pay $1,000). I was freaked out and called my Ojai dentist and made the drive for advice. My trusted hygienist told me there was NOTHING WRONG WITH MY GUMS. These two dentists are upselling procedures and obviously are working together to swindle vulnerable patients, (which is easy to do since we can't see very well inside our own mouths and trust them for their expertise). My experience was the worst! I will be driving back to my previous dentist in Ojai for dental work! read more

I was sent there by Delta Dental. At first I thought I was lucky because they did a good job on a deep cleaning and refilling on fillings that were degrading or so they said. At this point, I'm not sure I needed it or it was just to get the money from Delta Dental on something they wanted to do for money. I had gums receding from an aging bridge that was 16 years old and they made every excuse not to help with it and I was in pain with hot and cold hurting me because my gums were receding from the bridge, jaw ache and headaches. The dentist kept saying he'd send me to a periodonist if I wanted a new bridge. I saw two other dentist's afterwards and they said I had no gum issues and that I could have a new bridge and that I did not need a periodontist. He just didn't want to do it my bridge. So he's capable, he can do a good job, but if he doesn't want to help you with something such as a bridge he throws out the words he'll send you to a periodonist. I lived in pain for a long time because he wouldn't help before being assigned to another dentist. It's not caring or good to treat a patient this way. I lived in pain and it was an awful experience because he refused to help me get a new bridge which is covered under the Delta Dental Plan. He never wanted to be bothered. It may be something that Delta Dental doesn't compensate their dentist's properly but the patient is taking the pain. I'm very disappointed at the way I was treated. I needed help. read more

I just went for my first appointment. Rarely do I give any business 5 stars but this one deserves it. The office was clean, the staff friendly and very professional. I did not have to wait an unreasonable amount of time to see the dentist like I have in other offices. The dentist, patient and gentle. It was interesting seeing the full color pictures of my teeth. No dental care has done this before and I was amazed by the technology. I hope one day it can replace x-rays, if that is possible. read more

Dr. Shahmoradian wasn't as pleasant as I would have thought after seeing such awesome reviews for this office. This was the sole reason why I selected this office through my employers dental plan packet. I went there to get an exam & also to get treatment for my discomfort. What this dentist suggested was quite surprising to me. I get routine check-ups on my teeth twice a year, so my teeth are in pretty good condition. I've had several different opinions from a few dentist in the past 3 yrs, and what was suggested to me at this office was horrible. His approach wasn't welcoming/inviting. I received a quote for about $2,300 for unnecessary work that I don't need. Root Canals & Crowns huh? I don't need none of this. What a waste of time & energy even going to this place. On the other hand, the Dental Assistant & the Front Office Staff was very pleasant & super nice, which was surprising considering the dentist nonchalant attitude. Seems as if HMO patients are not too appealing to this office, which is fine b/c I can pay whatever the cost is out of my own pocket. Had to leave a review but wanted to wait until after all the work I needed done was over with. 3 months later after 3 cavities, and two deep cleaning sessions I had to say this is probably the best dentist I've ever been to. Due to Covid they make you wait in the car in the parking lot and have you call in so they can get a room ready for you. After they scan your temp and use hand sanitizer they take you to your room. Every time I went everything was quick and effortless and Dr Vrej Shahmoradian was pleasant and always checked up on me when I came in to make sure everything was going good and that there were no problems. After having a dental group that caters to the uninsured pull a number of my teeth and furnish me with poorly fitting dentures that I had to live with because they would not correct the bite, I was unsure when I first went to Desert Breeze based on their Yelp ratings. Well, after my first visit all my fears were set aside. Dr. Shah explained the complete procedure to me in easy to understand terms, answered ALL my questions and even, as we were planning a vacation in 30 days, agreed to a rush treatment. He took several impressions, making sure the bite of my dentures was absolutely correct in the finished product. When the day came for the extractions (5 at once) I felt absolutely no pain except for a bit when he injected the anesthetic in the palate. Weird having a numb nose. The dentures, both top and bottom, fit like a dream with only a couple of rough spots that were quickly taken care of. The bite is perfect. I would highly recommend this office over anybody including one that gave me an estimate for the same work that tripled the price. read more

Wow... Dr. Shah is one of the best dentists I've ever been to. I ask a lot of questions from doctors. He answered every one of my questions. He showed patience despite my constant interruptions to ask questions. The staff was very efficient in booking my appointment according to my schedule. By far the best dentist I've ever been to. The entire staff is kind and helpful, and Dr shah does amazing work and I have never once felt a single thing! All of the girls on staff are super friendly and Barbara in the front is amazing. I am that person who gets extreme nerves at the dentist and due to a prior horrible experience with a bad dentist, I have major fear every time I have to get something done. but the friendliness of the staff and knowing how much care Dr Shah puts into his work, It helps me feel better. Great visits to this office! Dentist is friendly and has great 'chair side manner' and takes great care in discussing with me what he sees and does. Hygienist is very cheerful, friendly, helpful knowledgeable and thorough. Receptionist is her Fulani friendly. I like the fact that the dentist shares all details of actual photos and X-ray images to explain what he sees and does. I leave here feeling that my teeth are well cared for. Also, there are no ominous discussions of big looming dental problems or 'upselling' I have encountered In many other offices. Just good simple and honest discussion of options. Dr. Shah is an amazing dentist. Right from the start, you can tell he is genuine and really cares to get to know you. Awesome dentist anyone can ever have. He is friendly, very knowledgeable and professional. The staff is also friendly and professional. They know you by name and is very welcoming the moment you walk into the door. This office is the reason why I LOVE going to the dentist! He has advanced equipment. He doesn't try to push anything on you, like other dentists out there. He shows you your X-Rays and is honest with how severe your issue is or how soon we need to change it. I love that he informs me and lets me do all the decision making. Dr. Shah recently did my cleaning and it was amazing. We had plenty of small conversations here and there, in between the teeth cleaning and that's when I knew he was a keeper. He shared stories and asked about my life and what I am passionate about and that is amazing. Other places just clean and worry about the bill they are going to be giving you at the end of your visit. They Don't really care to get to know you on a more personal level. I usually hate dentists, I really do, but the office puts me at ease. They aren't like any other offices where they are timid or don't talk much. Very pleasant experience. Haven't been to a dentist and over a decade and was having tooth pain. Figured a had some cavities but Dr. shah informed me that i just has sensitive teeth and recommended switching my toothpaste. Simple fix and it worked too. Could've easily told me I needed all this unnecessary work done which I'm assuming most people worry about happening to them. He did recommend a deep cleaning which most people say is often painful but he numbs you up and to be honest I felt no pain at all. Great doctor and has a wonderful staff working under him. Our family recently moved to the Antelope Valley. I broke a tooth and needed a dentist after a few recommendations I went to Desert Breeze and I was impressed. They were able to get me in right away and they were so wonderful. The staff is friendly, and Dr. Shah is amazing. He was kind, gentle, understanding, extremely knowledgeable, and took the time to explain all procedures. He answers all your questions and truly takes the time to make sure you are well informed. This dental office is "second to none" in the AV! I've been living in the AV for four years and it has been a challenge to find a good honest dentist in the area. So when my wife cracked her bridge last week, we called our current primary dentist - our luck they had just closed for the day. We then called Desert Breeze and they immediately took her in. I was looking for a new dentist so I checked Yelp. Dr. Shah had a 5 star rating. When I found out they accepted my insurance I immediately scheduled an appointment for cleaning and x-rays. The staff is really nice and they explain things to you in a very understanding way. It seems they want to make sure your aware of what is going on with your teeth. They do x-rays and take color pictures of your whole mouth so they can show you what needs to be fixed. They give you the print out and suggest which teeth need attention first. Plus, the summarized sheet tells you the costs broken down so you can space out the work you need to according to your budget. They also do teeth whitening and Invisalign. The office is clean and nicely set up with private rooms. I'm very pleased with Dr. Shah and the whole office staff. read more

Gets you in right away with emergencies. All staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Shahmoradian is gentle and kind and spends ample time with you to answer any questions. They go over and explain everything you need and provide you with a list including cost of the procedure, how much your insurance pays for, and how much you will be responsible for. I was having a lot of pain due to my bottom wisdom tooth. It had caused an infection and the pain had hit my throat. I was super scared to get them pulled because I didn't want to go under anesthesia, but after having a hard time swallowing any food I got referred to Dr Shahmoradian by my girlfriend who had got her veneers done by him. They immediately gave me an appointment and I drove to the office from woodland hills just to see him. I had my tooth pulled without any anesthesia and it was a faster process than I had thought.
