I have been coming here for over a decade and this dog park is the largest one in my area and the biggest one on this side of town I have been to. They have 3 different areas depending on the size of your dog, but one is always closed for maintenance giving you the option of two areas for small/medium or medium/large dogs. The dog park itself is usually maintained and I appreciate the nice space. The downside to me is sometimes other dog owners or rude people here, but that can happen anywhere so just be aware. It's very sad to see irresponsible owners leaving their dog waste in this place for dogs. Well, I didn't see them do it, but I was avoiding piles here and there. It's just a pet peeve of mine; people are like that, lazy, inside of our community too. I have dog waste bags attached to our leash. I also have wet wipes attached to the leash too. There are large waste bins inside and outside of the Facility- so there is no excuse. There were a few tables and a bench for visitors. Before I took her in, we already had a walk beforehand, so I wanted to really get a bit tired. I met some nice dog-owners yesterday. I took my senior dog here, and she didn't know what to make of it. We hardly take her on car rides because she used to be really noisy, like shrieking loudly noisy, but in her senior years, she's mellowed out. I took her off the leash, and at first, she was close to me, as I was walking, but then she just kind of sniffed the perimeter of the chain link fence. Of course, she stepped right into the puddle of water. But then some dogs were coming up to her, sniffing her private area, and she was doing the same, which was fine. In her earlier years, she would've caused a fight. But like I said, she is mellowing out. read more

A great place to take your pooch to get some exercise. There is ample parking, and they have separate off leash areas for smaller dogs and larger dogs. It is well-maintained, and workers were raking and maintaining the grounds while we were there. Most of the people you meet are friendly and keep good watch on their dogs to make sure everyone is getting along. This most recent visit there was a dog that didn't have the best dog manners, and their owner didn't seem aware and didn't intervene. Overall, though, this is still a fun place to take your dogs for some fun and socialization! read more

I was in Las Vegas to visit family. There were many tourists at this dog park. Most of them were amazing and friendly and had great dogs. Unfortunately, a few of them had aggressive dogs. I can understand that dogs who have been traveling might be stressed out and act out. But, it is always the responsibility of the owners to remove their dog if it threatens another dog. I wish there had been more dog parks in Vegas because there were not any alternatives within a few miles of my family. read more

I love how this park is always busy so my pup has plenty of socializing opportunity (we go to the 35lbs and under area). It's also in a pretty central part of town. I saw training also being done one Sunday with what looked like a Pit Bull class. If you have a dog that needs to learn how to behave around other dogs then this is the place to be! It's also just fun dog watching. All of them are so cute and have different personalities. One downfall is that owners don't clean up after their pets. Watch out for poop when you're walking around! read more

I wouldn't say this is the best dog park in all of the valley, but it's for sure the nicest on the west side of town. The park itself is located off of Spring Mountain road near the pool rec center. I like that there's separated areas for small dogs, under 35 lbs, and large dogs, over 35 lbs. I don't like that fact that not everyone can actually read and will still bring their large dogs in the small dog area, but what can you do. The dog park area has convenient beaches for sitting, water fountains for both humans & dogs and lots of trash cans for pet waste. There's also a parking lot right next to it which makes getting in and out a breeze. I do wish their was more grass and less dust, but overall it's still a nice place for my little guy to play. read more

If anyone can recommend me a better dog park please do. Starting to really hate this place... I witnessed a guy not watching his dog and his male dog got stuck in a female puppy Aussie. After he got them unstuck he still stayed. My dog gets humped all the time especially by the bigger dogs. She's always struggling to get out of that situation but the male dogs are too strong. They get her all slobbered up and hump her. It's disgusting and the owners do nothing about it. It's so wrong that a stranger has to pull your dog off of their own because you aren't paying attention. read more

I used to love this dog park! I have been going here for 20+ years. About a year ago my dog picked up giardia there. (He wears boots anytime we take a walk so he doesn't burn his feet, so I know he didn't get it anywhere else) But I used to take them off there for him to be able to run. I haven't gone back there since then. My friend took her dog there recently and now her dog has it too! I thought it was a one-off thing, but apparently someone's dog has it or is a carrier for it and isn't being treated. Has anyone else experienced this at desert breeze? read more

This is a nice big dog park and there's always other pups here, no matter what time/day I go. There's also other areas surrounding the dog park where you can walk your dog on a leash, around the baseball and skate parks, which is nice for when my dog needs a little more exercise. There are rarely issues at this park, but occasionally you have younger people with little experience around dogs, so you do have to watch your dog at all times so they don't get over excited by screaming kids. There are designated small and large dog enclosures (35lbs and over), which means the bigger dogs get to play harder, which is great! They switch up the areas every few weeks, so make sure you go into the right one! Tip - make sure there's fresh water out for your dogs as mine has got sick a couple of times!! read more

I've visited a bunch of different dog parks but this one I prefer the most due to it's location, size, and it's surroundings. Pros: Good size park Easy parking Well lit at night There are tables, benches, and water fountains They alternate sections of the park for upkeep If there are aggressive dogs inside you can simply walk your dog outside until they leave, plenty of outside grass walking There are plenty of friendly people there and you, as well as your dog, can make some good friends There's always toys here, usually tennis balls and rope toys Cons: Only the decent dog owners pick up when their dog poops, and there's a lot of poop out there. Water buckets, some may see this as a pro but if you really care about your dog's health you would not let them drink out of them. Bad doggy parents. If you go to this park there is a good chance that you will come across some owners who really don't care what their dog does inside the park because they're too busy on their phone, this can lead to unchecked aggressive dog behavior. Aggressive dogs. Of course this goes without saying at pretty much every dog park but I have to mention it since recently my dog was attacked by a husky who bit a hole in her face at this park. Bad dog and bad dog owners! Most of the cons the park isn't responsible for, except for the buckets. But I'd say overall there's an 80% chance you and your dog will have a good time here read more

I love taking Sophie to this dog park even if there is one closer to where I live. Has two side, the small & large dogs. Can't really speak for the larger side, but the small dog park always has your regulars and new dogs every time I visit. Dog bag stands in multiple places both inside the dog park and throughout Desert Breeze overall. For the small dog park size, it's definitely enough for your pup to run around. The park does a great job with the maintenance, whenever one side is closed, they'll open the center park as the substitute. There isn't a fountain inside for the dogs, but there's always water bowls people bring with them. :) read more

LOVE this dog park!!! Safe for all breeds, big & small. Large, fenced lawn with some trees & benches, both sized dogs have separately fenced playing areas. I've been taking my dog to this park almost everyday for a couple years now. It is a very nice park and there's almost always dogs there. There can be some drama. The lawn chair group has been nothing but nice to me and they love Abby which is all that matters. They weren't too friendly to a friend of mine over the summer who has an adorable Scottish terrier. This is my favorite dog park! there are 3 sections, one for small, one for large, and one that is closed. They keep one closed so that it can recover. Every first of the month, they rotate the sections so the dogs always have fresh grass and new scents. Only thing, sometimes some large dogs will make their way in there, and sometimes they are a bit rowdy, chasing the smaller dogs around. If you go often, you'll recognize which owners they are. I have seen a few scuffles between doggy parents, due to humping, dominating behaviors, or just puppies not knowing their boundaries. I think most of the owners are reasonable and tolerant. You will encounter some of the other types of owners so just be aware. On an interesting side note... I've been approached on 5 separate occasions by a young person or couple, its always a new one, pitching a pyramid scheme. They will approach you and start a conversation about how they met 'this really successful couple, who retired at 26,' followed by, 'they've been mentoring me, I am now paying off my debts, and look to retire next year.' They'll use terms like , 'asset producing income' and other specific words. They'll never tell you the name of the company or who this 'amazing' couple are. read more

It was a gorgeous night and the air was crisp. My poor little terrier hadn't gone to the doggie park in ages because it just had been too hot. With open benches and no shade around, going after dark seemed like a great idea. After all It's always been fairly lit. Well, not tonight. With no other dogs in sight, she wandered the grass alternating between sniffing and peeing. The area was large and my husband and I hung out on the bench in the cool air. Even at night the doggie park is pretty populated. This was odd. From what we could see it was well kept. The lack of lighting was troublesome, and could be potentially dangerous. We came here to give our dogs a break while on a family trip. Overall, glad the dogs were able to run, socialize and blow off some steam but some downsides. Pros: A lot of space Grass and sand areas with a gazebo in each, and the grass seems to be well maintained as the dog sections are rotated between 3 fields (so one constantly is in "recovery mode" and growing the grass back) Huge parking lot Next to the community center which has a water park as well Some tree shade and benches, in the middle of a very nice park. Cons: POOP POOP POOP. Never have I ever been at a dog park with this bad of a poop problem. Nobody seems to take picking up seriously. In my home area, people were giving me a dirty look taking more than 10 seconds to pick up dog poop while I was 9 months pregnant and unable to bend down. Here, it just doesn't seem to get picked up at all and on the small dog section, it's pretty annoying since small shits disappear in the grass and reappear smooshed everywhere you'd hate to see it. My husband stepped in some and our stroller came out with 2 or 3 globs stuck to the wheels. Thaaaaanks.... People don't seem to watch their dogs much. We had our infant daughter in a stroller and a few of the dogs wouldn't stop harassing the stroller. Fortunately it was the small dog section so none of them were particularly dangerous. read more

I took my son Gus here for the dog park and it was a nice park. I like how they have places to sit and it was very wide and open. They could use a bit more fresh green grass but overall my baby enjoyed running around here. There was tables for you to sit and eat but I always bring my lawn chair to sit on the grass to be close to my chihuahua while he's running around playing with other dogs. They do a pretty good job of keeping the place up, park employees shouldn't be responsible for picking up someone else dog park. This place is normally not too busy and there is lots of parking around. The ground might be a little dusty for your dog but if they have grass allergy this is a great option. read more

My boyfriend and I brought our dog here while in Vegas for the night. They have several spaces that they rotate so that the grass stays green and none of the spaces deteriorate. There was plenty of parking and we easily found the large dog area. We went early in mid July and it was already very hot out. There were several other dogs there and we chatted with the other owners who were happy to give us ideas of things to do while we were in town. There was poop in a few places so look out when you are walking, but the owners we saw did a good job of picking up after their pups. There was several community water bowls and a faucet for owners to refill them which was also very helpful in the heat. All in all, it's a good park and we definitely enjoyed our time there. This is my husband's favorite dog park. I've noticed that every dog park has the same thing: 1. Owners who talk with other people and don't pay attention to their dog and their dog ooops or growls or nips at another dog and they are too busy socializing to pay attention to their dog and do something about it. 2. Dog poop - why? See above. Owners are socializing. I've decided I will never make friends at a dog park and I'm okay with that. So my last two visits here weren't so great. One time there was a Frenchie meetup and a large group of dog owners. Most were cool but one had a little boy who threw dirt on all dogs, people, and kids around him. He threw dirt on me and on a toddler and I saw various adults scolding him and he continued. His parents were MIA and nobody had any clue who he belonged to. Then he threw dirt in a boy's mouth. Seriously people need to watch their children. When the parents found out they took the boy away but still did not watch him. The last visit here a watched a woman and a man with 2 pugs walk in with heads down and walk towards a bench. They were talking and their dog was behind a tree pooping. I watched it go down, they walked to their bench, poured some water, and sat down and talked. I went to let them know very politely and she defensively argued that she did pick up after her dog. This was clearly a lie because I watched it happen and no she did not. It would be nice if people were responsible citizens but I guess that's asking too much. This lady was very rude and entitled, why should she not have to follow rules? Luckily I've had to tell owners 3 other times their dog pooped and they thanked me, asked me where, and took responsibility. I'm glad there are some people who are responsible dog owners, not all are entitled. No I'm not a dog police but I have a right to enjoy a park with my dog without stepping on poop. People really need to learn kindness. read more

I actually really like this park. I like to bring my dogs here and there's usually a pretty good crowd. Most dogs are super friendly and the owners are definitely regulars. There's not too much poop on the ground which is good. I mean it's a dog park so you can pretty much expect there to be poop on the ground in areas. During the winter you don't get too much of a crowd when the sun is down. I mostly see dogs when it's cold around 5 pm but once the sun is gone it pretty much clears out. They separate big dogs and small dogs, which is def necessary at such a popular park. Sometimes the big dog park switches from the middle to the far left. Keep an eye out for dogs without owners and please do your due diligence. Twice during the winter I've seen dogs in the park alone because their owners never came back, which is so sad. read more

The park itself would get 5 stars, my dog loved running here and enjoyed the grass and dirt areas! Plenty of friends to play with. However if I could give the community a 0, I would. My dog was running around minding her own business, when another dog approached her and tried to hump her, now that didn't irritate me she got the other dog off of her and she was fine. The other dog however took exception to it and started growling and tried to bite my dogs neck. Now I own a pit and when she gets attacked like most dogs she defended herself and a little scuffle broke out. It was separated right away so no dogs got hurt just slobber everywhere however once they were separated my dog and I were berated with verbal abuse "Get your stupid dog outta here" "She's so bad what's your problem" "She's a put why would you take her here" "I didn't come here for this take your bad dog home" Now I get it, I'd defend my dog too however the fact that no one could see past her breed nor could they comprehend self-defense it was my dogs fault. As a new, overly excited pooch owner, I've made my rounds through all of the doggo parks on the SW/W side of town. Desert Breeze is by far the largest and cleanest. There are 2 fenced off parks (over 35lbs and under 35lbs). There are 3 parks, but they rotate them to grow the grass back (doggo poo/pee kills grass FAST). If you visit the park toward the end of the rotation the park is almost all dirt. Right now, the small dog park has the freshest grass and is LUSCIOUS lol. There are tons of cement blocks, bricks, benches to sit on. There is a gazebo with shade, outside of the dog parks. Shade is limited inside the parks. There are 2 parking lots next to the dog parks. Parking in the lot closer to the west side will be a shorter walk. Lots of water for the doggos but beware of that giardia pick you pooch poo up guys! (There are plastic baggies available) read more

It's got a lot of room to run which is cool, and it's kind of scenic, but the big dog area is basically a dusty litter box :( that's when things are in good shape. When they give the grass a chance to grow, it makes the poop harder to see. You really have to watch your step. People of Desert Breeze, do better. Pick up your dogs. read more

I added the dog park part of Desert Breeze as a separate area because I primarily spend my time at the dog park rather than the rest of the park. We really enjoy the dog park area! It's not the nicest park in the world, but it's large, has friendly dogs, some areas to sit. Our dog loves running around and meeting new dogs here. They have the standard 35lb and over big dog run, the 35lb and under small dog run, and one area closed for maintenance which rotates. In order to get here, if you're going north on Durango, make a right on twain. We usually come from the north so we make a left on Twain. It's right off that small entry road, you'll see it as you're driving up. Definitely recommend this park, we bring our puppy every other day or so! Haven't had a problem at all. read more

Sooo it was our first time at this dog park..it was huge, clean, and lots of people and dogs. What I really like about this park over the one I usually go to is that it is well lit at night, which is a huge plus. Now to the negative..I witness a puppy get attacked by another dog...the other dog would not let go it's teeth..the owners did a poor job of controlling the fight. I regret not getting involved and breaking it up. It broke my heart and just ruined the whole night and I know I shouldn't let that one experience stop me from coming back but for that to happen on our very first trip, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I hate incompetent dog owners. Some dumb grandma brought her two big aggressive dogs into the dog park today and they jumped my dog. I pushed them off and picked My dog up and her dogs tried to jump on me too. The grandma goes, "oh dont worry. They wont bite her. Theyre just playing with her." Im like yeah but they're playing really fucking rough. Like have some control over your dogs. I saw them trying to nip my dog's tail. They also tried biting and barking at every other dogs and owners at the park. This grandma didn't bother taking them home or moving her dogs to the Large dog park. They clearly were over 35 lbs. She didn't even bother stopping her dogs from trying to jump my dog. She literally stood there and laugh. This event happened today. Meanwhile YESTERDAY, I witnessed a bunch of older white grandmas and grandpas having a get together with their dogs in the small dog park. They literally sat around and bullied another white grandpa who looked below middle class. They were calling this poor man names like, "you look like a pedophile" when all he did was say bye to them. Just overall, the park itself is great except for incompetent owners and owners that are high off their horses. I like how theres a lot of dogs here but i hate how most of them are not decently trained. read more

I have been here a handful of times at different times. I enjoy coming here in the early morning since the dog owners seem to be more responsible and watch their dogs that happen to be more well behaved. At noon you get a mixture of people but the majority are responsible dog owners with dogs that seem to be either playful or move slowly due to old age. I only had one bad incident when a a dog that wasn't neutered kept humping my dog with his entire lipstick out it was rather disgusting. I think the late crowd has the most irresponsible dog owners that just don't watch their dogs. Or they have big dogs in the small dog area which is really annoying. I'm glad I have a home with a yard now so I don't need to go there at all anymore. read more

I'm so excited to be living near this dog park. However, I think my dog is more excited than I am. Like most dog parks, this one is separated into larger dogs weighing over 35lbs and smaller ones weighing under 35lbs. I've got a little ChiPin so we obviously belong in the smaller one. This particular park gets popping with the dogs. There is usually a lot of people here with their furry canine friends. There are tennis balls scattered about, water buckets, a beat up frisbee and most importantly.. A LARGE FIELD. I don't know about you guys, but I love seeing my dog run around and use up all his energy. It's that Pinscher in him, I tell ya! I've been to the dog park on the East side along with the one in Henderson and this one has got to be my favorite because there are tons of tiny dogs that come here.
