Desert Breezes Resort is a wonderful place to relax from the stresses of life in its beautiful Palm Desert setting; a large water feature, a pond with waterlilies and ducks and a fountain - we are in Paradise. Accommodations are arranged around the beautiful grounds with several private jacuzzis, artfully hidden behind hedges, and a large swimming pool and central jacuzzi. There is usually a movie night or other program each week and on Fridays, they sometimes offer wine and cheese around a fire. Wonderful! Today I want to give a shout out to the excellent facilities management as experienced this morning when I had a stuck garbage disposal and Alvin came to my rescue and quickly restored it to functioning. When I arrived, Chico helped with getting my sliding glass door unlocked. Alfred, Broddy and Jesus were all helpful with a washer malfunction on another day. Also excellent, Erica, who cleans the common areas around the units and brought me an extra sheet when I needed one. You will find a stay at Desert Breezes relaxing and stress free due to the attentive staff. Fernanda, Jocelyn and especially Erica at the front desk were all great and made me feel well taken care of. My first time experience here was great; I came to town for a family get together. You'll make a good decision staying here if you're flying by. It was very relaxing next time I'll stay for a whole week since all the casinos were only 15 minutes away! Yes, it's a little outdated but not in a terrible way, the bed was comfortable enough to sleep in, the couch was comfy and the full refrigerator worked like new, the stove top can save you $$ if you want to cook lol! the AC & fans were deliciously cool. The pool & jacuzzi were marvelous and picture /selfies worth it! The staff from the check in to check out were Terrific and super cool/chill with big greeting smiles. I was very satisfied overall, if you expect More then pay More and don't give this super cool resort any bad reviews, because you would not be an honest person. Upon arriving and checking in, I realized this an older property that has been well managed and maintained. The service provided is excellent. However the first room they provided had a problem with the AC unit making a loud screeching noise. They moved me to another room once I reported the issue to them. The shower head was set improperly and the lowest point was still too high. Even with all these minor issues, I did enjoy my stay at this resort. read more

Well my fellow yelpers, this place is just OK. The grounds here are amazing and beautiful; yet the room is very hard to navigate. We stayed in the studio which is shy of 600 feet, but whoever organized this place had a strange sense of counter space and where to place electrical electric outlets. One example is there's an outlet near the stove and that made it really interesting when I went to make coffee in the morning; it was a major search to find an outlet, then a dance of coordination to figure out how to organize what little counterspace we got. But the place doable. So, if you don't mind a lumpy bed the very crowded space. What is more, the couch looks like something out of the 70s; then the showerhead is not adjustable at all. As a result of water sprays all along the back wall, and above the shower curtain rod all over the floor. Just the nuances of being in a room I suppose. The gym? Old cybex equipment, Two treadmills and two ellipticals, and two stationary bikes, all piled on top of each other. Lest I forget, very anemic fans on the roof that goes so slow, they make you fall asleep. However, that seems typical for most hotels and/resorts that I've stayed in. There are plenty of tennis courts and a beautiful pool with Jacuzzi outside the clubhouse and gym. But you'll have to come experience that one for yourself. read more

I booked a studio suite for a weekend getaway through Priceline for my family and I. The suite came with a queen size bed and a pull out sofa bed. A small kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, stove top, dishwasher and dishes! Very accommodating. Upon check in, I experience exceptional customer service from the female staff member at the reception desk. She was fast and efficient in checking us in. I noticed the main lobby was cool with AC and because of COVID-19, it was extremely clean and sanitized. I was 2 1/2 hours early since check in was at 4 pm. I was issued a gate key only until my room was ready, fortunately the receptionist did offer us the option to enjoy the pool while they get our room ready. It worked out for us because we planned to explore the city. It was 4 pm and our room was ready. I was issued my room key by a different staff member who greeted me with a smile as well as professional and kind demeanor. They made me feel important and welcome! The room was spacious and accommodated us. The only thing I would advise would be for these studio suites to be updated. They just seem a bit outdated but not too old fashion. Perhaps just more modern decor and furniture. Regardless, the resort was fun, relaxing and accommodated us. We slept in a comfortable bed and we stayed cool in the AC and enjoyed all the sanitized pools. We even were able to grill by the pool. All in all, we will definitely be returning. Very good for what we paid! Would recommend if you were in a pinch and/or on a budget. We traded some of our Welk Platinum points to stay here during the Christmas holiday (2023). It was not to the level of the Welk properties we have visited. But, it was quiet, clean, and comfortable. We traded at pennies on the dollar, so it was a good value. read more

We stayed here to attend a rock festival at Empire Polo Club in Indio. It was the cheapest we could find, and didn't know what to expect, but didn't care as it was about 7 miles from the venue. However we were pleasantly surprised. It was a timeshare condo, gated community. It did what we needed, had a place to stay that was clean and secure. We were only a 15 min drive to the festival: lots of local places to shop such as Trader Joe's, stater brothers etc. read more

Desert Breeze, first off it's beautiful ONE THE OUTSIDE. Looks like a oasis get away. Once you get in your actual unit, it's a different story. Furniture is OLD and out dated and has a old thrift store smell. Usually rooms are well coordinated color and furniture wise, it was none of that! The staff is rude, they could careless, there mission is to get rid of you as soon as possible. There communication is really vague. When you check in at the gate they say make a right and go to clubhouse and hang up. WHEN ACTUALLY it's a long drive and turn and then a right. When you call they briefly answer, and hang up. Our wifi isn't working AT ALL. Called, front told us the WiFi name password and hung up. We already have that information, our problem is IT'S NOT WORKINGGGGGGGGGG. They give you a guest directory booklet (which is kind of nice) but I feel like they just want you to read the book and leave them the heck alone. Let's be honest, who really about to read this book!? Jacuzzi's are unavailable (COVID). They have nice side walks, around the parks and tennis courts. We brought our skates, we can't skate! It's a "violation" everything is a violation. One of our restrooms shower/tub didn't drain. The stopper refused to stay up. So I had to wedge a complementary soap up under that thang. Check out usually 11/12, there checkout is at 10am. We can't check in until 4pm (late) but you want us to check out at 10am (early) yea okay. My family has been coming here for over 30 years and it's sad to see how far it has fallen. The tennis pool was filthy, the gym building was renovated but not the actual gym (ridiculous). The tennis club pool is completely neglected and filthy. 3 different spas were broken the entire week we stayed and staff is useless outside of pacifying guests over the phone. There were no lights that worked at night around our room so walking at night with the elderly was dangerous. The main pool has chipping plaster outside that hurts to walk on barefooted and the spas was also broken. There is no cleaning staff attending to guests and mid week cleaning is now an extra fee. Sunsets are gorgeous but the resort experience is enough to ruin any vacation. I advise you don't waste your hard earned money here. read more

I have been an owner here for 39 years and this is the most disappointed I have been. The pools are not maintained and all the jacuzzis are not working. Not sure what is going on but the lighting is also very bad in front of building 217. The rooms are very dated from 1984. I have to wonder where my Assessment fees of $900 are going. We live in San Diego. During the pandemic, we banked our Villa del Palmar week and had to use it so we decided to trade for the Coachella Valley 10/21-28. The resort has a lot of positives: super quiet, very comfortable bed and pillows, two bathrooms in the unit, very well maintained grounds. Also, the community was lovely with friendly residents and nice little neighborhood for me to run in the morning. Lots of the buildings have little jacuzzis right out front; unfortunately, our was out of service the first 5 nights we were there. Although the unit was large and comfy, the furniture was mismatched in the living room. The coffee, side table, and dining room chairs were well worn and scratched up but the couch, living room chairs, and bed were almost brand new. The dresser was cheap and flimsy as was the TV stand in the living room. There was a full kitchen but the electric stove either burned super hot or hardly at all. The shower was just hot enough at full blast so during the winter, it might not be hot enough. There was no information or receptacles for recycling so that was concerning. Also, gym was closed. I think the most concerning for me was the entire resort's (and the entire surrounding area) disregard of the drought. We are in a 1200 year drought and the entire area was watered daily and constantly. My husband and I are extremely water conservative so this bothered me a bunch. But we did have a good time and got in some pretty good R&R. read more

We've been coming to Desert Breezes Resort for over 10 years now. We love the grounds and we did love the rest of it until recently. Let's forget the COVID nightmare that had the pool guy spraying bleach all over everything twice a day...except let's not because all of the pool furniture is ruined. This time no one even bothered cleaning off any of the pool furniture after a dust storm...and never cleaned it the entire week we were there. The bare minimum in rooms...no extra towels and only 2 packets of dish-washing detergent for a 7 day stay. The furniture and television set up are outdated . Wondering why the owners are not putting any money into keeping the place up. The windows and surrounding steps and balcony were filthy...yes there was a dust storm...but not for 7 days. The place was not nearly as clean as past visits. No access to the gym. In the past the manager came around and asked how everything was...not this time...pool was dirty and deck was filthy for all 7 days. I found a rag and used the hose that was in the pool to clean our area. Umbrellas falling apart. The other issue which has happened every year we are there is that the employees smoke right behind a wall where there is a table we typically sit by at the pool. The Jacuzzi's at rooms were not operable and that's been the last 3 times we have stayed there. And the Jacuzzi hours are absurd...8 PM is too early to shut them down. At this point I cannot recommend to friends...it's just not what it used to be. We have another stay in September. If it's the same, we will not be coming again, cause we should have learned our lessons 3 trips ago. read more

Limited office hours - not a good place for business travelers. They have a $14/day resort fee and since their office wasn't open while I was there to pay it, they locked me out of my room. They are obviously a LEAN operation. Probably good if you are here to hang around the pool, but not if you're a business traveler. read more

We were here in December and had a Murphy's Law kind of experience. Everything that could possibly go wrong did. So the management was kind enough to give us a do-over for July 4th weekend. This time everything was perfect. Nothing broken, nothing filthy. We hung out at the adult pool all day every day we were there and it was wonderful. Met cool people, shared stories and not one game of "Marco Polo" the entire time. And the jacuzzis, both in front of our unit and at the adult pool, were clean and had excellent jets. Yes, this matters a LOT to us. UPDATED GATE ENTRY info: Once you have your parking card, you may enter from EITHER gate. Can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks! read more

The Desert Breezes Resort is a really wonderful vacation getaway destination in Palm Desert. The resort staff at the front desk are all so very friendly and accommodating. The maintenance and housekeepers are also very helpful and attentive. The resort has gorgeous landscapes and is nestled in a nice private gated community. The rooms are well taken care of with a nice modern decor. Because they are timeshare, you get all the great benefits of a home environment like kitchen, living room, bedrooms, etc... I always prefer to vacation in condos rather than a hotel room. I really enjoyed the semi-private jacuzzi in front of the condos. It was really convenient to just walk a few steps outside your front door and relax in the jacuzzi under the stars. :) The resort has great amenities: pools, tennis courts, putting greens, exercise room, gas barbecues and of course the jacuzzis. It's also close by to all the great attractions of Palm Desert. This place is great for family time or a romantic getaway. read more

The stay this weekend was terrible, TERRIBLE! Ive been coming here since the 80's. So this was not my first visit. I was able to book the resort through Expedia. When we arrived the woman at the front desk checking us in seemed irritated that I asked for a unit with the jacuzzi in front of it. She said she was trying to put me closer to the pool. Honestly, I don't like being so close to the pool because of the noise. She seemed to try to discourage me by saying she'd have to put me in the back. I said, "That's fine by me." The bedroom TV was very dated and did not have it's own VCR. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The towel bar in the bathroom was broken as were some of the handles to the dresser drawers. Some of the dishes were dirty and knives had food stuck on them. There was also this horrible smell coming from the sink. My husband pulled out half a rotten onion someone tried to put in the garbage disposal. The pull out sofa bed had crumbs in it. I didn't see a Pyrex dish for the stove and called housekeeping. A man delivered a cookie sheet to us and said that was all they had. Little did we know the dish was in the microwave. I don't use a microwave to cook so we didn't think to look in there. I didn't like that the thermostat was programmed to not go below 72. It was pretty stuffy in the unit. The absolute worst part of the trip was that the pools were not heated. It was way too cold to even attempt to swim. I had to get out of the water both times. Sunday we didn't even bother. The first night no one was at the pool by the clubhouse. We soon found out way. Freaking way cold water. We sat in the hot tub for a little bit but had to get out because the water was so hot. The second day we went in the day thinking the water would be warmer. NOPE. Freezing cold. I called the front desk to see if the other pools were warmer. She said the one in the front is for adults only, but the family pool should be warmer, but said she didn't know. She also made mention that other people were complaining about the same thing. You think someone would adjust the temperature. We tried the family pool later that day and it was just as cold. I told her our reason for coming to this resort at all was to relax and enjoy the pools. She really didn't seem to care and did not offer a solution. It was more of a oh well that's too bad vibe I got from her. read more

Parking spots are a little confusing to figure out, but not that big of a deal. The pool could use a pool vacuum and power wash on the concrete surrounding. Overall our stay was great stay. Rude staff all over the resort, the furnitures inside the unit is now old dirty and broken, the sofa sleeper in the living room had broken springs and my family couldn't sleep well there because how uncomfortable it was, bottom line place is not kept updated, refrigerator was missing a drawer for vegetables ice maker not working, hot water coming suddenly too hot and cold, called for extra towels and brought the wrong amount and kind had to wait again for the right request, missing pillows in the beds when just checked in, staff does not care about you like before, management needs to do something about all this issues and do it quick because the place is breaking down! We used to love coming here. Thinking to sell the time share if we don't see improvement soon. read more

Like an oasis in the desert. The grounds are so green & beautiful with a big pond and 2 pools. I was visited by ducks & hummingbirds and the turtles were so adorable. The staff are friendly & kind. Great place to hang while my hubby goes golfing. We have stayed here twice & loved it both times! The condo was roomy, in good condition & had a full kitchen. We stayed as a family of 4 with children last week. The 2 bedroom condo was great. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The master bath has a really nice spacious shower. The only complaints I have on the room is the uncomfortable couch and the dull knives that couldn't cut a tomato in the kitchen. The gym was great. Very clean and had all of the equipment I was looking for. The pools are clean and the kids didn't want to leave them all day. They provide towels for the pool that can be exchanged. The location is near restaurants and grocery stores. Target is nearby. Overall we had a wonderful family vacation by the pool and would love to go back. read more

Like others have said, it's beautiful on the outside. But that's where it ends. The room was very dated and "somewhat" clean. The kitchen was infested with FIRE ANTS. Those things were everywhere. When you call the front desk they either don't answer or just hang up on you. This place also felt like a prison. While they did give us a gate key, it didn't work. The worst experience with this unprofessional staff. It' taken me a while to write this just because i was so angry and i wanted to communicate exactly what happened. In October of 2016 I made a reservation for 3 rooms vis Expedia. This was for my and my twin brother's birthday. My brother lives in Redlands with his family I live in Los Angeles and the rest of our family is in San Diego, so we thought Palm Desert would be a great in between the get the whole family together including my sisters family and my folks. When we checked in they said there were only two rooms. I felt horrible and thought I had made the mistake of not booking enough rooms. I had them them check and they said there were no rooms. I even returned to ask if there was a room I could reserve on the spot as it was evening and everyone had traveled through traffic and more than anything I wanted everyone to relax for our birthday weekend. That said there were no openings and to check next morning in the afternoon. I received a call the next day from the front desk the next morning saying my reservation was going to be cancelled because I never checked-in. When I call the front desk back it turned out I did indeed reserve a third room. After going back and forth with them, they kept saying it was because it was booked on Expedia or that we left the reservations under different names. I do not make a lot of yelp reviews. This is maybe my second ever. I am not one to complain either. My father had no shoes growing up and forged a solid career as Master Chief in the US Navy. Im my late thirties, I have 2 jobs. I am a teacher in 2 high schools and I Brand Direct a small label. My twin brother is an Assistant Principal he has served students and their families in a number of school districts. I also have a youtube channel that just hit over 14,000 subscribers. I teach my kids to take ownership of their mistakes. I tell the businesses I consult via my youtube channel to be honest and serve their clients honestly. I'm a member of 3 Chamber of Commerce in LA all affiliated members that work in a international Hotel chains also think this was a huge fail on their part. No worries they were there til 10:30..no where doesn't it state that..get there and front desk Rose or Amy? So sweet and helpful.. No security after 11 strange..we had a studio..small but just us 2 so no worries..clean right by pool and Jacuzzi..yeah!! Horrible experience here I would not recommend at all. Had cold showers for the first two days due to a water heater issue. Got awakened two days by mowers and blowers from the landscaping company at 6:30 a.m. Totally unapologetic staff that just does not care about guests. Gym was not open and the pool / jacuzzi closed at 8:00 pm the only time we had to use it was in the evening and it was closed. Got locked out two nights in a row from the gated community and couldn't get in the unit. Staff just did not care in the least. Brought all these issues up and the manager did nothing for us. Skip this hell hole and go somewhere else. read more

I spent 3 nights at the Desert Breezes Resort and was thoroughly unimpressed by the customer service and experience there. For starters, when we arrived, there were dead bugs in our bathroom cabinets (pictured). The first night at the resort, we got home a little before midnight and the front gate was locked (as is usual). We did not have the gate key since we did not drive and when we told the gate guard our registered name, he said we were not registered and that our room number did not exist. He would not let us into the grounds despite having key cards for our room. Eventually we got in and complained the next morning to the front desk who said other people had the same problem. The next night was even worse. We got home around 12:30 am and not one of our five key cards worked. When we went to the front desk, no one was there and the lobby was locked. No one answered the emergency phone number. We had to scale the side of the building to the second floor and jump onto our balcony which thankfully had an open door. No one responded for an hour or ever showed up. The next morning, there was construction that began at 7 am on the property. The worst part of all of this was the customer service. We complained twice to the manager at the front desk who was unnecessarily confrontational and never once apologized for the inconveniences. She put the blame absolutely every where else (night shift guards, the club house workers, the answering service, cleaning crew,our phones deactivating ALL FIVE of our cards-impossible) except on the management. She was the night shift manager on duty the night we got locked out. She said she could not give us a refund and we would have to talk to the GM who, coincidentally, was out on Mondays. I have worked in hospitality for six years and stayed at my fair share of hotels and never once have I had such horrendous customer service. I will NEVER return and encourage others to not take the risk of being locked out in the middle of the night. They get one star for being spacious and having a nice pool area. read more

I come to this area often for work and have stayed here quite a few times due to capitalizing on a low hotwire rate. Unfortunately, it's a dump that's poorly managed. How bad? Well for starters, if you arrive after hours, you will have to call from the gate for entry and a person in a remote office will answer, take your name, look your reservation up and open the gate for you. Sounds easy, right? It would be if the gate phone didn't cut the call off in 40 seconds, leaving you to call again and have a different person repeat the process. After doing this a few times you might get in. Once in your room, you'll discover that the AC is limited at 72 and may or may not work at all. I had the AC fail completely on two separate occasions in the same room. How did I remember it was the same room? It had the same dead cockroach in the bathroom light fixture. I told the desk about it the first time; still there three weeks later. Everything in these rooms is cheap and old. The towels are such a dingy gray that I have to believe they were purchased in the 90s. In the plus side, the maintenance man was very pleasant and helpful in arranging to get us moved out of the no-AC room. He gets the only star. read more

This place was basically the whole reason I was in California in the first place. A married couple Jen is friends with decided to offer her their timeshare for a week of relaxation and I was invited along for part of that week. Even still, I had a hard time placing who these people were. Jen said I had met them in Houston. Still drawing a blank, she said that they were the couple that when we went over to visit, she and the wife played with the baby while I did tequila shots with the cute husband. Ah, got it. Now I remember. Thanks! We arrived after dark thanks to horrendous traffic and our little In-N-Out pit stop, but guests are allowed to check in and pick up keys until midnight. The man behind the desk was friendly and helpful and we had the keys ready in just a few minutes. We requested the lower level since we were not in the mood to haul any of our current crap (or any future crap) up a flight of stairs. The half moon shaped jacuzzi in front of every building seemed slightly out of place. I mean how creepy would that be to just be lounging in a tiny little jacuzzi, watching everyone come and go from their condos? The condo itself was well kept and larger than I expected. The living room was a good size, and we each got our own bathroom. The best part was that the patio faced the main pool and part of the fountain, so we had some privacy and quick access to the pool if we wanted to swim. I asked Jen what the rules on smoking were. And at that moment, we saw they had an ashtray on the patio table. Sometimes, it's the little things. I had decided the drink of the weekend would be a throwback to freshman year of college, the Fuzzy Navel. And according to the Internet, when you add vodka like we do, it becomes a Hairy Navel. Doesn't have the same cutesy ring to it anymore, does it? As soon as I had my drink in hand, I sat down to the computer only to realize there was no Wi-Fi. No Wi-Fi. I was completely cut off from the world. No Google, no Huffington Post, and worst of all--no Facebook. I tried watching TV, but apparently the only shows running on a Friday night were Dateline-esque exposes on various serial killers. I tried having a drink and watching the palm trees sway, but even Jen could tell I was fidgety. The whole place was so quiet (which was a good thing) but I also felt so isolated (which was a bad thing). The next day, I purchased a Verizon Wi-Fi gadget from the front desk. They explained there are only five for the whole complex, so stake your claim if you go here and can't live without the Internet. It's $7 per day. There are computer terminals in the lodge if you just need to check e-mail (the one on the far right runs painfully slow though). I think they had water and cookies available to guests as well. They also have an on-site real estate agent in case you're old enough to want to retire there. Desert Breezes looks even better in the daylight. The grounds were clean, the staff was friendly throughout the weekend, and the only thing missing was a little golf cart for us to tool around in like the elderly on 'Sunset Daze". Okay if you are looking for a time share this place is probably great. But if you are booking it for a hotel, know what you are getting into. 3 stars because it is not bad, but it was definitely not what I expected. We booked it because we needed a place to stay when we went to the Big 4 festival in Indio. The rooms are like bungalow style with maybe 8 rooms per bungalow. They have a kitchen and a good balcony. They are not that clean, but reasonable. The grounds are nice, but the pool totally sucks. When we got there I asked if they had a restaurant or anywhere to eat, as most resorts I had stayed in in Palm Springs did. I didnt realize this was just strictly timeshares (that they also rent out as hotel rooms), so the girl looked at me and goes "what like a cafeteria?" LMAO! No...not a cafeteria! Then that night I needed to order a cab to go to dinner since we never drink and drive...and I called the front desk and asked if she could order me a cab and the girl said "okay...ummm......do you have the number?" LMAO again! I wouldnt be calling if I had the number! We must of been the only people who ever ordered a cab there! This place is great if you know what you are going for and plan a family vacation or go with a group of friends and do it timeshare style. But as far as hotels....dont expect much from this "resort"! read more

We stayed here because of the reviews but had a bad experience. The room was very stuffy and warm & you cannot lower the temp passed 72. We killed 2 roaches, listened to the people upstairs stomp & slam doors all night, had the Gardner out side of our window at 7 am (waking the baby) & there was only enough warm water for 1 shower. This is not the place to go if you're looking for a hotel room. Be prepared to give a $300 deposit. The worst part is we only stayed 1 out our 2 nights because the employees didn't care about our issues & said all they could move us but at that point we decided to go somewhere else. If one room has roaches, it's likely the others will too. We will never stay there again! read more
