Had a wonderful four-night stay at Desert Vacations Villas. The "villa" is a two bedroom/two bath apartment with a living room, dining area, and full kitchen. There is a TV in each bedroom and the living room. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a walk-in closet with extra beach towels, electric fans, pillows, blankets, etc. The master bedroom also has a small bathroom, which was a pleasant surprise. They have a decent sized swimming pool that looked clean and felt warm, plus a hot tub and free bicycles you can borrow. It is located a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs and close to lots of restaurants. The villas are nestled at the foot of the mountains, which makes for a beautiful view from the pool. Unfortunately the view from our first floor apartment wasn't too great, but we didn't care. It was the perfect home base for a day trip to Joshua Tree, downtown shopping trips and meals, and a visit to a day spa. A couple times we were too tired to go to a restaurant for food and the fridge and microwave came in handy. The kitchen is even supplied with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, cleaning supplies, and more. I highly recommend Desert Vacations Villas. One thing to be aware of is if you plan to arrive after 5pm you'll need to call in advance to make check-in arrangements because the office closes at 5. read more

Best Palm Springs hotel value. Better than any Airbnb you can find. I snagged a 'hot deal' on Hotwire.com for $92/night. My 'room' #104 was a 800-sq.ft 2b/2ba condo with a spacious king suite with a walk-in closet and another bedroom with 2 single beds (perfect for storing my bags and sundry items). The living room and kitchen are spacious, clean and beautifully appointed with everything you need and more. My unit was very quiet and even had a lovely view of San Jacinto mountains. The only con is you cannot set the thermostat lower than 73 in winter months, I like my bedroom very cold and this is a potential dealbreaker for coming back. read more

Very nice 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo. The decor is 70ish with yellow paint and lots of full length mirrors in every room. The pool is heated to 82 degrees, a nice perk since we were visiting in December. Some rooms on the 2nd floor have views of the mountains, but on the bottom floor, not so much. read more

Firstly, I never received an email confirmation for booking. I called a week prior to my visit and was told I would be getting the confirmation email that day but it never arrived. These are old time shares that half are being rented as villas. Second, I booked a two room villa with a king bed and queen bed. We arrived to a queen bed and two twin beds. When we brought this up to the front desk, the woman said that was something that needed to be requested prior to arrival and the only thing they could do is push the two twin beds together, There was nothing online stating that needed to be a special request after booking. The villa also reeked of stale cigarettes. The thermostat would not go lower than 71 and the tower fans provided made such a loud noise it sounded like they were breaking and it was impossible to sleep with them on. The villa was stale and stuffy the whole time. Only a select few villas even have a remotely nice view while most are looking out into the parking lot or other parts of the complex. The description makes it appear as if a fitness center is on-site. It is not. You have to drive three miles down the road. Anything that we had brought up to the front desk was met with an 'I don't care' attitude. We were also told to just leave the sliding door unlocked "in case we forget the room key" which is a wild recommendation to give guests. The hot tub is hazardous and not up to code with the suction on the bottom being extremely strong and not having the compliant cover. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

Stayed here ending summer and was disappointed to say the least. I felt like I was transported to a motel in the 60's . Everything was outdated. Dust and mold covered the walls. The room smelled like humidity and smoke. I refused to touch the curtains because they were stiff. The gates to the pool were rusted. Just awful. This has to know: Due to covid check in is extremely slow. Only 1 person at a time in the office and when we checked in webqeren3rd in line and it took about 30 minutes from getting in line to getting our key. They sanitize the rooms well, including remotes!!! But one of our remotes had dead batteries, which we didn't discover until after office closed. The other bad thing about the cleaning process was that our unit smelled a little overwhelmingly, but no screens on any doors or windows so it was chance the bugs and rodents or live with the odor. The Frank Guy!!!! It was such a treat Friday night to listen to this guy singing by the pool. Hubby and I did a little dancing in the courtyard to his songs. Rooms have everything a family of 4 needs. Well appointed and roomy, we enjoy every visit. I do with there were in room washer and dryer like we have had at other timeshares. Ok, the pool. One year it was shut down cause a homeless guy decided to use it as a bathtub. This time, it was busy and getting a chair was hit or miss. We were incredibly lucky to meet some wonderful people who were willing to share. I have to say, almost everyone we talked to was so kind and friendly. One thing I wish was different was the hot tub. After a long drive I just wanted to soak in the tub, but there were 3 infants sans diapers in it with their parents. I love kids, but a hot tub is not the place for them. This is a great location pretty close to the downtown area. If you aren't a primadonna this is not a bad place to pass the time. read more

Desert Vacation Villas is obviously an older place, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz-Carlton. I was, however, expecting it to be clean. Within a few minutes of arrival I started to notice problems. Unfortunately, I didn't taken pictures of the mess in the livingroom. First, I noticed a child's toy under the livingroom TV stand. Next, I noticed crumbs and food wrappers under the sleeper sofa. Then I saw a disposable coffee cup lid on the floor next to the livingroom chair. At this point, I returned to the office to report the problems. Housekeeping was sent to my villa immediately to clean up the trash and vacuum the livingroom floor. Later, when I began to settle into my bedroom, I discovered that the bedside drawer was stuffed full with dirty sheets. By this time, the office was closed. I wasn't touching those sheets!! I pushed the drawer closed and sprayed lysol at the closed drawer. There was nothing to be done until the next day. I returned to the front desk in the morning to report this second issue. The housekeeping supervisor was sent out immediately to remove the mess. The supervisor was very apologetic as I expressed my concerns about the poor housekeeping job that had been done in the villa. On the 2nd night of my stay in the villa, I removed a wine glass from the cabinet and noticed that it was filthy! This was the last straw for me. I've never left a review about accommodations. After staying at Desert Vacation Villas, I felt compelled to leave this review/warning. I'm generously giving this place 2 stars because the front desk clerk and the housekeeping supervisor were courteous and apologetic for the mess I found in my villa. Needless to say, I will never again stay at the Desert Vacation Villas. read more

I weigh 106 pounds and barely fit in it. They had to change the shower head because the one that was there just sprayed everywhere except on you. Don't get me started on what they called hot water. Do not stay at this location. Outdated, uncomfortable, loud, not worth it and old. We booked for one week. Left after two uncomfortable nights. The pool is gated and surrounded by plastic chairs from the 70's. It looks like an apartment complete converted. Sad sad sad. The mattress in the master was flat, hard as a rock and creaked with every turn. The air conditioner sounded like a jet engine preparing for take off. The next door neighbor had a house full of children that had a great time. The master bathroom was so small it was unreal. The second bedroom had twin beds that were like rocks and sad. I have never booked such a bad place with RCI. We left and had to spend extra money for a decent pool and a good nights sleep. Beat thing about this place is the proximity to DT Palm Springs. I want to say at the binging that this rating has nothing to do with the staff while we were there. They tried to address our issues as best they could within the restrictions they may have work in. The office staff especially is amazing and kind. Now here is the thing...This place started as a Time Share. My mom was one of the 1st people to buy in over 30 ago. As an owner you would think it would have benefits. Except for reserving ahead there is not a single benefit I can think of for her to keep paying annual dues of $900.00 a month. No special pricing for the week of the rental and no covered parking...1st come 1st served. Our unit was a Canyon. Slightly larger than the Palm. It was direct pool access. We noticed on the 1st day the A.C. wasn't working correctly. Mind you it was 115 degrees outside. We asked and was told if you leave any door open longer that 30 seconds the A.C. and WIFI disconnect. My Nephew an electrician said there was no evidence of that on the door. Especially the one going to the pool. We kept the doors shut, except the front door kept opening on it's own (TIP PULL THE DOORS CLOSED FIRMLY) The unit was at 80 to 81 at most times. The stand alone fan didn't work. My daughter and nephew with their significant others were in a Unit right by us. Their Unit was at a consistent 74 degrees. I had to go buy 3 fans to make sure the rooms we slept in was tolerable. As the resort was booked to Capacity there wasn't any other Unit to use. The day before we were supposed to leave they finally fixed the A.C. We were told this was the only time he could come. We also had a plumbing issue. A shower wouldn't turn off, so they had to turn off the water overnight to our Unit. We were told to use the public bathroom by the pool if needed. Um no thank you we used my daughter's in her Unit. But to me the worst part was finding our several other guests were able to rent the exact same type of Unit from Hotels.com for nearly half what my mom pays. So we want her to sell. But she bought this with my dad who has passed away and she is not wanting to part with it. She also had to pay a tourist tax on her room. How as an owner do you get charged for this. So basically we spent nearly our entire stay with A.C ...and one day it got to 120. One night without water. But again the office and housekeeping were great. read more

I spent one night here. I got the family suite, even though I was by myself, since it was the cheapest room on Expedia. The room comes with a full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms (one with one king bed and the other with two twin beds). There is also two bathrooms. As far as I'm concerned, all the villas come with a full kitchen and separate living room, which is nice. The kitchen is stocked with everything you'd need if you decide to cook a meal. The room itself was very very clean and spacious. I enjoyed relaxing in the spacious and comfortable living room. My king bed was very soft and comfy. The room came with two bathrooms, one with a single shower and the other with a shower and a tub. The entire property is well maintained and the employees friendly. It's a very safe neighborhood and quiet. Check-in was a breeze. There's plenty of parking, some of it covered. My only gripe would be the WiFi. The WiFi cuts in and out when it wants. My Mother-in-Love, her sister and niece stayed here while visiting for my baby's first birthday. PROS: They are accommodating. There are no elevators so when they were assigned a second floor room, my Mother-in-Love explained that she has serious back and knee issues. They gave her a first floor room. Staff is friendly. They were helpful, accommodating and gave us tips on getting around downtown Palm Springs. Misters over the lawn chairs are so lovely on a hot day. The big pool was still too cold for me but the hot tub was great. Small but great. (Bring flips flops, bare feet burn on the concrete even if you are hopping from the big pool to the hot tub) There is DVD rental, full kitchen and powerful a/c. There is a liquor store on the corner and a couple doors from THAT is a coffee shop called Customs Coffee. They sell Joshua Tree coffee which is exceptional. Excellent vendor. And outside Customs Coffee is the free trolley which helps you go downtown and mosey around. (TIP* Around sunset the drunks flood the trolley and some dude passed out from alcohol poisoning while leaning up against my Auntie-in-Love. They had to pull over and call an ambulance. Save the trolley for day trips. It only runs on Thurs-Sundays) CONS WIFI.... no one could connect to it. When they asked the office about it they were assured nothing was wrong. However everyone at the pool said they couldn't get on either. One couple said they called the 1-800 number on the pamphlet with the WIFI info and had to give the IP number to a tech guy. They synched all their devices on one three minute phone call. None of us wanted to do that, so they checked into their flight using the couple's phone and I was left to catch up on my on-line coursework tonight and hire a babysitter (as opposed to letting family watch my baby and having the room and time to concentrate). Otherwise I would be grateful for the tech break. It feels a lot like an apartment complex. The first floor bedroom was facing the parking lot so there were headlights into the room and people walked by the living room porch door which was almost startling. But that is what we got with the first floor room. For Memorial Day Weekend, there wasn't a heck of a lot of people. Everyone was quiet and courteous. Another older couple complained that the Jacuzzi jets were too low down and it missed their neck and shoulder. I enjoyed it just fine but I have the mobility to scooch and bend. Vending machine only works for Smart Water, don't try for other beverages. **** I spoke to my family, they would definitely go back (even though they ran out of data). read more

Found this place on a whim. We stayed upstairs our first 3days. Jeffery, William and Rosa keep the place clean. Our 2nd stay was 2 weeks later for 7days. It was AMAZING. Having a full kitchen and grocery stores near by is wonderful. Our best swimming days were Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We washed our clothes there, so packing with clean clothes was great. They provided pool towels so your room towels stay clean. The only down part was the pool needs a much larger filter for the amount of guests they have Friday and Saturday, as well as another trash bin. We stayed here a night as part of a RCI exchange and it's definitely one of the worst "resorts" we've visited and "Villas" is deceptive nomenclature. It's quite old and dated (probably built in the 70s or early 80s) with a pretty small pool area. Think of an apartment complex in a questionabe neighborhood and that's what this place reminds me of. While the rooms are decent sized, the carpet is dingy (my 3yr old walked on the carpet without socks and his soles turned black with grime) and some of the furniture had stains. The bathrooms were remodeled vs the other areas but the water flow in the showers was slow and sputtery. To top things off there were small bugs in the kitchen under the sink. Basically we were afraid to sleep for fear of bedbugs... Thankfully we were only there for one night. read more

Stayed here 1 night in the family suite which consisted of kitchen, living room, dining table, 2 bedrooms (twin beds, queen/king bed), and 2 bathrooms. We only came here to sleep, so we didn't use the pool, bikes, ping pong table, etc. They do have a wide selection of DVDs so we borrowed 1. I'm writing this review as we never figured out how to change the channels on the TV. They should have a manual. We stayed in room 333 which was quiet at night but you may start to hear some road noise by 6am and just know that the master bedroom patio door/window faces the parking lot where cars enter/exit. All in all, it was an affordable comfortable stay. Apparently they are timeshares so all the units are 2 bedrooms, but the furnishings may be a little different but the management maintains everything. read more

We only stayed 1 night but wish we had stayed more. Vivian at the front desk hooked us up with her favorite unit 215. It was amazing! Lot's of space. It had a full kitchen, dining table, front room with a pull out sofa, a room in the back with two twin beds, plenty of closet space, and a master bedroom with a king bed and en suite. My parents stay here a week out of every year at this time, because it's their anniversary and my birthday weekend - so it's an opportunity for family time. We've been coming here for over 10 years, since they've owned their timeshare here, and we always have a good time here! We usually pick the same condo - a big, upper floor 2-bedroom unit with a master (king bed) suite (adjoining bathroom and big walk-in closet), a smaller 2nd bedroom with two twin beds, a fold-out sofa, a 2nd full bathroom, a big living room and a full kitchen and dining area stocked with plates, cups, a toaster, an (unfortunately) electric stove/oven, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, silverware, pots/pans, etc. There are TV/VCR/DVDs in the livingroom and master bedroom, and at least two balconies (off the living room and master bedroom). The pool is great for both kids and adults, you can reserve bikes (free) with the front office, and there are grapefruit trees around the property that have fresh, pickable, juicy fruit! What can I say - my mom's a bargain-hunting asian - she likes to get her money's worth! We usually go home with a bag full of FREE grapefruit : D. Everyone at the front desk is always super helpful here - and there's coffee for the taking. The parking lot is very convenient, and it's close to the restaurants and shops in town. You will definitely find us here this time of year - just like clockwork! read more

The Hand of Fate had me stay here for a weekend during Coachella last weekend. It was a brief Fri-Mon stay but it was definitely nice to have a place like this to come back to after the madness of the festival each day & night. It's easy to get to from either the 10 or the 111 (actually sits at the west end of the 111!) which makes it a very convenient location. Grocery stores are not far away; there's a 7-11 right across the street. For the most part it's set up like any hotel room. I was in a two bedroom that slept a max of 6 people (including 2 on a pull-out sofabed). The main difference here is the full kitchen, complete with a fridge, stove/oven, dishware & utensils, and blender that I put to full use making smoothies every morning (probably the healthiest thing I did the entire weekend). The area was relatively quiet, owing to the fact that we were placed in an "older" part of the complex. The accommodations were comparable to a budget hotel - keep in mind that because this isn't technically a hotel, no one is going to clean up after you every day, so make sure you plan your linen use accordingly if you don't want to be begging the front office for extra stuff. Aside from dealing with a rather gruff housekeeper, our interaction with the office staff was fairly minimal and not unpleasant. read more

The "resort" if you could call it that - it is more like a clean Motel 6 with a pool. My mother traded her "Premium" status with Interval International. The best part: The front office staff is nice. We were there over the 4th of July for a week and our vacation was mediocre. To call our unit a villa - well - is an overstatement. The pool was clean - but rather small. I think we had the BEST "villa" in the property, and it was easy to access the pool - but it was dated, and had the bare minimum of amenities. Wifi was TERRIBLE, the vending machines didn't work. The office lady was friendly to her guests but it was an awkward friendliness. She would smile and say hi to the guest and ask for help, but then after a few minutes of helping, it felt like she gets annoyed of doing it. It depends upon what you are looking for. If you're looking for fancy, it is not. The reason we choose this property is because we like the living space--a full kitchen, living room, and separate bedrooms. It is an older property, and shows its age. When I saw the pool area, I opted NOT to go swimming. It is convenient to a shuttle stop that runs through Palm Springs, making getting around town easy, If you go straight down the side street it's on, you'll come to Stater Brothers and a Wells Fargo bank, both of which, proved useful to us. Next time we'll probably stay at the Hilton, which is right downtown. Or our usual, The Marques, but they were full and we couldn't get a reservation. read more

This place is a dump! I came here with my children in the end of July. My daughter found a joint in the back closet and my son found a pill under the end table. There were cigarettes all over the balcony in the rocks and outside the front door along with beer bottle lids and trash. Plus the room smelled like cigarette smoke. I checked in on a Friday night and could not see this because it was dark so when this was found out the next morning I informed the front desk and she told me she would have it cleaned up. Nothing was cleaned up until the next day, Sunday! The front desk woman was nice when I brought to her the pill and joint and said she called the manager. He came in on Monday and when I came in he said he was sorry and offered me tickets to Wet and Wild which I did take. I informed him I wanted our points given back and what we paid 275 dollars for the room. He told me no problem he would take care of it. It took over a week for the manager, Jeffrey, to call my MIL whose time share it belongs to. When he just called her he gave back the points but refused to refund the money. I did not stay The Who week because the room had drugs and cigarettes all over outside our room. The pool water was cloudy and half of the lounge chairs were broken. We were supposed to stay Friday to Friday, one week but left on Tuesday because of what we were dealing with. I honestly thought I got the tickets for the water park because the hotel staff did not clean the property for 24 hours after I showed them the cigarette butts, beer bottle lids and trash. Horrible! Terrible! Dirty, it stinks. Clearly the owner doesn't take pride in this property. We found blood on the toilet, they came to clean it and I see the housekeeper exit the unit next to ours that was recently vacated with a sponge in her hand that she was obviously using to clean that unit with (and no gloves) to wipe down the blood from the toilet and left the water from the sponge on the floor! There were ants everywhere, including in the beds. My husband and daughter were both bitten while in the bed! We used this property as part of an RCI exchange. RCI should be ashamed to do business with this property! read more

I highly recommend this villa for big families and those who plan to stay 3 to 5 days in Palm springs! they have everything you will need. kitchenware ( spoon,forks, knives/cookingknives/ plates, glasses, shot glass,) they have refrigerator, stove, cooking ware. You really don't have to bring a lot of things but we still brought a cooking wok (since i have big family, I needed a bigger cooking pan) . The villa was clean and the living room was also cozy. I love the nostalgic 70's feel of this charming getaway spot. The villas are spacious and affordable. I enjoyed the beautiful pool and jacuzzi while working on my tan. Bikes are available for both adults and kids to cruise downtown for all the shopping you can shake a stick at. A lot quieter than some of the surrounding hotels and resorts, especially during big convention weekends. The staff are friendly and very helpful as well. We spent 2 days over the July 4th holiday and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Millie in the front office was exceptional with her customer service and desire to assist wherever needed. We asked for a late check out and Millie immediately said no problem. We have a 6yr old daughter and having the room to move about as opposed to a small hotel room certainly made a difference. The pool was clean and inviting in the heat. Being a timeshare property there are certain amenities that need to be adjusted to but we had zero complaints. The master shower was fine, just know it's not as big as yours at home but so what, for a couple of days it's no big deal. There's always the 2nd bathroom tub shower for more room. A couple more minutes to rinse with a little lower water pressure was nothing at all. The kitchen is great, everything needed was there. It was clean and easy to move around. Overall I couldn't be happier, this was our second stay and we look forward to returning in the very near future. read more

This is not a good place to stay, nor is it a place you should get a timeshare. My family stayed here for a week during the summer, since we come out to Palm Springs every week, and this place was, unfortunately, awful. It was dirty, had sewer problems, and unreliable internet. It also had ants. This is maybe an excellent value for the money(we happened to stay for free since a family friend could not stay in the timeshare that year), but it is not somewhere I would pay to stay. read more

I've stayed here almost once a year, every year, since I was 10. I'm 32 now, and love bringing my own children here. The condos are always super clean, spacious and its within walking distance to great restaurants (like Billy Reeds, a PS staple), convenience stores and now there a super cute ice cream spot 1/4 mile down Palm cyn. This place was AMAZING! The hotel staff were ultra friendly and responsive. There was onsite security and surrounding were super clean and well maintained. The room as huge! Loved that they place a big emphasis on energy conservation. It had everything we needed and parking was a breeze. Not only would I highly recommend this place but I'm planning on coming back asap! read more
