Tried some of their prickly pear popcorn...tasted like kettle corn with no real discernible prickly pear flavor.

Did a night tour with a friend. This house, its story and the treasures it houses were colorful and…read morefascinating. I don't want to give anything away that my photos didn't already reveal. You owe it to yourself to do a tour. The gift shop/cottage houses more of the properties treasures: lavender inspired home, bath, and body products. I'm coming back to take a soap making class.

I've always assumed a celebrity once lived here, but it turns out that's far from the truth. The…read morereal history was nothing like I expected. I won't give it away--you'll have to go on the tour yourself. Upon arrival, there's free parking on the premises in a designated grassy area. John was a great tour guide--nice, informative, and absolutely hilarious! There were a few places we couldn't see that I personally would've loved to explore, such as the hidden rooms behind the doors and the son's room upstairs. Due to time, those areas weren't included, which was a bit of a bummer. Overall, though, the tour was enjoyable. Since the place was built in the '80s, there aren't really any ghost stories--probably because in the '80s the only ghosts people talked about were the Ghostbusters. The property definitely needs a bit of love. The carpets need cleaning, and the whole place could use a refresh to bring back that '80s charm instead of feeling more like the '50s. I did love the artwork throughout, especially the stair rails, doors, and mural. A small on-site café or coffee spot would be amazing--there's so much potential here to elevate the experience, especially if they plan to maintain it as historic grounds. They no longer host weddings here, which is disappointing since I remember driving by years ago and seeing celebrations happening on the property. Overall, the tour is worth the price and definitely something to check out for yourself. Drink your coffee before you go! And remember: don't touch anything on the tour. It's always embarrassing when the guide has to remind everyone because of that one person who just can't follow the rules. Sheesh! Why is there always that one human?‍ The kitchen was definitely a 80s kitchen. In any case, I recommend checking it out if you're a history buff or just simply need something to do. Tours are held on the weekends in 3 sessions... check their site and get your tickets online. (Subject to change) Tell John that you heard it here! Btw... There's a cute gift shop on premises that sells lavender soaps and trinkets. They also sell sugar cookies and soda No coffee on the premises at all!

A beautiful bookshop and flower shop. Seriously, this place is what dreams are made of! Whether…read moreyou're looking for a new book or a bouquet, Wijaya is a great place to buy a gift for someone or to treat yourself. I've visited a couple times now, but on my most recent visit, I attended one of their ticketed flower bouquet making events. You can find a wide range of artsy book-related or flower-related events on their website. For this class, it was learning how to make a spiral bouquet. It was so fun learning this technique and leaving with a a bouquet that I had designed! Also, the owner is super kind and her patience and help with me while I made my bouquet was greatly appreciated. Can't wait to try another class!

Absolutely quaint small business bookshop hidden behind the Mexican restaurant next door. I walked…read morein blind, super excited to visit since it's a woman-owned business in my city. I was immediately greeted by a young friendly woman at the front who left me to peruse the store. There's a selection of books for everyone, with sections for various genres housed on the east wall and within their bookcases and tables. I love the idea of a blind date with a book, and they had no shortage of options! There's a small area containing tees and other merch and, even tho I'm not a big sci-fi fan, I loved the setup they had for the genre! What I hadn't anticipated was the section that had the Sweet Valley Twins books! The nostalgia was HEAVY let me tell you! :) Regardless of how small the store seemed, they do an amazing job of packing in the books and I was impressed that there's literally every type of genre you could want there. Adding to the great vibes are the comfy sitting areas with plush seating, an old typewriter you can crank out 'hellos' to future visitors on, and plants and decor that add charm to some mid century modern furniture. What makes this place so unique though is the assortment of fresh flowers in the back and the flower workshops they hold each week. I haven't gone to one yet, but I plan on it, they look really cool! I highly recommend Wijaya House to any book lover, but especially those that prefer the locally owned to the big box store. I'm planning my next visit soon. :)

WOW!! I just got…read moreoff the phone with Allie, and her team - they are simply AMAZING!! I needed help today on Mother's Day - not to get/send something for my mother, instead it's my spouses birthday and we are apart this year - so I wanted to create a special moment from away - I went to Chat GPT to get guidance on what I could do to create a special moment - and Chat recommended AJ's, and I took the advice and was quickly transferred to the floral department - I felt immediately welcomed and cared for - I was inspired to believe that we could together, create an incredible experience - I was immediately spoiled with a perfect floral arrangement - followed with great guidance on how to put together a complete package - not just flowers, but also a small personal cake, I wanted to include mixed nuts for the resort stay as well as sparkling water - I was able to work with a couple of other store experts thats helped curate a perfect blend of items to include to create a special and thoughtful Birthday Package - and this all includes delivery to the resort - I didn't have to find someone to pick up everything and then deliver - when I say they made it simple and easy and very enjoyable - I might be understating how I feel right now - I feel so well taken care of - and that I'm for sure, If we lived in Arizona, we would become AJ's new regular customers/fans of the magic they create in their community!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for making today so super special!
