Expected me to pick out colors from moving samples which I had foiled around my fingernails. I got a full set of acrylics. I showed the length and confirmed it with one finger first. All of the other nails were much longer than I wanted and I asked twice to have them shortened. This was dismissed and I was told that they would make them even both times I requested. I am very disappointed that I did not get what I asked for. Not only are they unfriendly and rude, the woman who gave me a pedicure, viciously scraped the bottom of my right heel, so that i was bleeding and now days later, limping around due to raw skin. I should have stopped her while she went nuts trying to remove some callus. What a terrible experience, I wouldn't set foot in that place again. Now maybe if you are 90 and just sit and don't talk about anything , might be a good match. I am in shock over how terrible Tracy was to me. Trust the reviews here! Paid $48 for a gel pedicure (was killing time while my husband got a haircut next door.) List of things she did: soaked feet in cold water. Took off my existing gel. Repainted my toes. Massage. She massaged me while my foot was still in under the light still. She basically rubbed lotion on my legs. My feet weren't touched at all! I had to ask her why she didn't cut my cuticles. She said I didn't need it. I asked her why she didn't clean my nail and prep for new color. She said she did. Tracy is absolutely fantastic! She does the best pedicures and nails. Unfortunately she's out on vacation, so I went to Linda. That was a huge mistake. The paint job on my toes looked like a child painted them. She also did a fill on my nails. First nail and polish broke on the same day. The nail should have been replaced during the fill and No polish will last without a base coat. I've been trying to get them to fix it, but they are booked up until my next appointment......convenient! Worst $80 I've spent. I will only go to Tracy or Jolee! read more

I give Joleen a rousing 5-stars! She's been my manicurist (and sometimes pedicurist) for about five years and continues to bedazzle me with her skill. May nails are very thin and curvy and they tear easily. As a result, they are very difficult to properly maintain. Joleen is the only one who's been able to keep my fingers looking gorgeous despite my constant abuse of my hands. I'm an athlete so am regularly climbing over rocks, fixing bike chains, and swimming laps in highly chlorinated pools. She rolls with the punches, fixing my nails to perfect so they will last another 2.5 weeks (I need both tips and gel). Joleen is the epitome of the American Dream! She migrated to the US from Vietnam and has since learned English, received her nail license, and moved from nail technician to business owner (though she continues to work with clients). I have been coming to Desert Nails for a couple of years. They are kind of tucked away off of Lake Mead in Summerlin. Some people get them confused with the other nail shop that is in the front of the shopping center. This salon is clean and has recently been remodeled. Jolene is the owner and my nail stylist. She runs a tight ship and does her best to make sure that all the customers walk away satisfied with the services received. Her prices are a delight compared to the high end shops that exist around town and want to charge you $45 for just a pedicure! For a mere $32 one can receive a manicure and pedicure. Jolene takes her time and always gives me exactly what I want. These ladies don't push you to buy or try any services that you don't need or want. They offer bottled water to their clients and it is a comfortable atmosphere to relax and enjoy the "me" time. I will continue to patronize this shop as it is conveniently located to where I live and I am always pleased with the service! read more

This lady is literally giving me a 20 minute pedicure.... if you don't have time then don't touch me... I made an appointment for a reason. She is rushing so bad that she put polish remover all over my toes... barely touched them with a file or the cuticle clippers.. used a gross illegal credo blade on my feet (I just got a pedicure two weeks ago and my skin is not even rough).. she is so rough the way she grabs your feet. I am dreading the fact that I also booked and manicure because it sucks here and I want to walk out. I rarely give out one stars but this place doesn't even deserve a star. The tools were not properly sterilized and the pedicure spa tubs were filthy. There were nail clippings and dead skin floating in the tub of water that I soaked my feet in. I was pretty disgusted. The pedicure was trash. He filed my feet without lotion... they charged extra for sugar/salt scrub. Didn't file my toe nails so they look crooked. They didn't shake the polish before applying it so it came out terrible, when I asked very politely for an additional coat he seemed annoyed, when asked him to fix the polish on my big toe he replied "it's cause your skin is like that" yes sir it's cause my fucking toe skin is crooked definitely not because you couldn't patiently paint my toes. I have no problem tipping over 20% I'm always a generous tipper but this place is actual shit. My dog could paint my toes better. Crooked toe skin Jesus fucking Christ I can't. read more

I really like this salon. I have been a fan of Jolene for since moving here last year. My mom uses her, too and she is great at my pedicures! Jolene just took over this salon and has done an excellent job of making it a nice clean place to go. I feel for her being in the location she is because it is next to Sun City, and I tell you what these oldie moldies that live up in here LOVE to complain!! I never find one senior around here that doesn't complain, if life is this awful for these spoiled oldies... I don't wanna get old! Worst pedicure I've ever had. Not only because the pedicure itself was sloppy, my feet were left dry and just looking a mess. They don't bag their bowls. Place is unsanitary. The woman who did my pedicure was SO rude. Once she finished she just walked away. She didn't give me the mock flip flops, she didn't help with my shoes. When after 10 mins I put my shoes on and messed it up, she was so irritated to have to fix it. Now I'm waiting even longer and still no too coat, mock flops...... HORRIBLE customer service and mediocre nails. I went there yesterday wearing my comfortable clothes, aka bummy clothes, and they immediately judged me. I get there and the lady promptly seats me and begins the process for a gel manicure when another woman walks in and she rudely sends me to another chair, didn't even bother to help me take my purse and nail polish. The older woman helps me and starts to ask questions about my pandora bracelet and how expensive it is, which i found odd. She is doing a terrible job and seemed annoyed at me, at first I didn't know why but I quickly realized it was because she thought I didn't have money. She was asking all sorts of intrusive questions about my life and seemed shocked that I work at a law office, that I'm married to a white man, and shocked that I had a pandora bracelet, because you know they're expensive and how could I afford one. She then proceeded to gossip about a regular customer and her daughter, how "spoiled" the little girl was for getting her nails done every two weeks, are you kidding me? She then said I must not live in the area because I'm "Mexican." First of all I'm not Mexican and second of all who says that to a customer. The job itself is mediocre at best. If you want to get treated like a real customer make sure you go looking your best otherwise they'll assume you're as poor as they are. I used to get my face waxed with Helen. She started out doing such a great job, and was very friendly...then it all changed. *what could have easily been a 4-5 star review, has turned into a 2 star review...I really want to give it 2.5 stars but no button to accommodate that* I would have an appointment with her (always), only to show up and sit around and wait anywhere between 5-25 min because she was still working on another customer. I can understand this happening a few times, but practically every appointment I had...Nah! Very annoying and inconsiderate! Most customers would have already gone somewhere else, but I brushed it off and continued to go to her because she was good and still friendly. The "ONE" time I miss my appointment (with a very legitimate reason), which I called the next day, explained-apologized and re-scheduled with her, is when it all began to sour quickly. Her demeanor changed. There where several times where she would be finished ringing me up and she would just walk away and start talking to her next customer (I found that to be very rude). She would be right in the middle of waxing me, only to leave the room to take a phone call or talk to a customer or co-worker several times during my appointment (my BIGGEST pet peeve). Her waxing skills began to go downhill, or she just didn't care anymore, if she was even doing a good job on me. Every appointment began to feel rushed, when she started out really taking her time (which was one of the things I liked about her services). She began dropping comments that I was picky (who wouldn't be with their eyebrows?). I could've also sworn she was making sure the waxing and "especially" the tweezing hurt worse then it normally should, like really poking and digging the tweezers into my skin. The lack of timely manner on her part continued when I was scheduled for my appointments with her. Last straw for me was my last wax with her. I showed up really late for my appointment (I was beginning to get fed up already and not care). If my time is not of importance to you, why should your time be of importance to me. Despite me being late, she said she could still wax me. After getting done it looked as if I only received half a wax, literally! spots and strips of hair everywhere (I don't think she even bothered waxing or tweezing those areas). Not to mention no cream and powder applied after the wax (which she always did) to diminish redness, burning and future pimples. I said nothing! I paid and left, knowing this will be my very last appointment with her. I had to go home and fix my wax job that I just paid for. Not to mention all the big puffy pimples I had to treat and deal with all over my face for days...ouch! I quickly got the hint she never wanted me to come back to her, and trust me I heard the message loud and clear...wish granted! I cannot say do not ever go to her, that she does a terrible job, because she does have the capability of doing a good job (when she feels like it). I'll have to just chalk it up to some business/customer relationships cannot mesh after some mishaps and there's a time where the customer just has to move on and find a new person to go to. Maybe someone else will have a better experience with her then I did. read more

Jolene is running this salon properly. It is very clean. If a client has doubts about sterilization (unfounded, I am sure) they may request a box with their own manicure tools for a fee. Both my husband and I have been clients of Jolene for years. We are happy for her branching out to own her own business. She is very conscientious and dedicated to her clients. Just had a really crappy experience. My sister and I are visiting from CA and just wanted some quick .... but good service. And we didn't get either. We arrived at 2:30 and there wasn't a wait I got a gel manicure and while I wanted they soaked my sisters hand in Acetone to take off her acrylics. She was soaking for a good 30 minutes. Then they took her to start a spa pedi and I finished about 10 minutes later. As she is doing her pedicure the employees started to yell at each other to the point that the boss had to tell them to cut it out. Very awkward. Since they didn't remove the acrylics from my sister right away she had to sit and wait with her hands in more acetone for another 45 minutes before I got up and asked what the hell the deal was and they told her 5 more minutes... 10 minutes... a total of 2.5 hours of being here my sister decided on just taking off the old and not even getting A new full set like she wanted. We are dying to get out of this place. Don't come. Send help. read more
