Overall my husband and I enjoyed our service... however: My massage chair didn't work and I had to sit on the very edge of my seat (height challenged) and my husband's toenails were cut too short one two toes (he was bleeding at the tips). I last minute asked for a matching manicure bc I loved the glitter polish I chose for my pedi. My technician didn't seem to mind but I felt the mani was rushed. My toes are packed with shiny glitter with at least three or four layers. On my fingernails, only two layers and you can see my nail beds. Idk if we'll be back, overall decent service. read more

Yesterday I visited with my girlfriend for a manicure and pedicure. While the staff was generally courteous, I was dissatisfied with the pedicure service. During treatment of an ingrown toenail on my right big toe, the area was not disinfected afterward. I later experienced significant pain and had to clean and treat the wound myself, which showed bleeding from the depth of the extraction. Additionally, proper nail preparation and sanitation steps appeared to be overlooked before the clear coat was applied. Based on this experience and the quality of care provided, I will not be returning and recommend that others exercise caution when seeking similar services here. read more

However, my last experience as well as communication with trying to book a new appointment just was not it for me. Despite not being happy with how my last gel x nail set turned out, I still decided to go back for a new appointment because I absolutely adore Helen. However, I am not a fan of how things were handled customer service wise, in addition to surprise charges (i.e. additional $5 for shaping nails?) that may pop up. Location: Vela Nail Lounge is located in a shared lot with other businesses. Parking: There is plenty of parking in the shared lot. Ambiance/Decor: Beautiful! You really feel luxurious from the moment you arrive. The pedicure chairs are nice and cozy, the room temperature is perfect and they have multiple televisions playing with different options of what to watch (I loved that they had my favorite soap opera playing today!). It really does have the perfect lounge vibe! The ambiance music was great, too. My Nail Service/Nail Tech: I have consistently gotten the "Lavish" Pedicure and a Gel X application. Helen does a great job, however, my last experience, the polish (that I was charged extra for) was too thick, looked messy, and just was not desirable. Helen did offer to fix the issue and offered to change the color since she was aware of how the application appeared. Overall: I am bummed that I now have to find a new nail salon since I am just not a fan based on my last experience both with my nails as well as the customer service I received. I am very disappointed with how my nails turned out. I told them it was for my baby shower and I was hoping to get one of their best employees. The guy who did my nails did a sloppy job. At least three are crooked and they are all uneven. None of the nails on the opposite hands matches the length of the other hand. He used so much gel x glue that my hands burned when put under the light. I had to ask him to file underneath the nails because how much glue was sticking out. My nails also look thick and I have two cuts on different fingers. I used to get my nails done all the time and this was the first time in over a year. I wanted to do something special to celebrate my first baby and I'm just so upset I damaged my nails for someone to do a sloppy job for such an important day. The under coat brush he used was also disgusting and old and I wish I had spoken up about that. My thumbs were so uneven he had to redo it but he made it even worse. Someone named Kim did what she could to help make them look as good at possible because he just couldn't get it right. She is the only reason I'm giving 3 starts or else I would give 1. I'm thankful she made them look a little better but the damage was already done. The more I look at my nails, the more upset I get. Overall, I wish I had done more research before going here. I paid 70$ and I'm still so upset that I have to look at crooked, thick nails and glue. Glue should not be noticeable but it's all I see with my nails. He didn't even fit them properly and they look like an old set because of how they are separating. Additionally, cuticle cuts are not included in the service. He didn't even offer it to me, I only found out after and now the skin around my nails look dry. Because this was for my baby shower, this is extra upsetting for me. I've been looking for a new nail salon and decided to try this one based on reviews. They conveniently have a number you can call or text to make appointments, and they responded very quickly to me. This salon is somewhat close to where I live, so I made an appointment for 9:30 on a Friday morning. They greeted me right when I walked in and showed me to the chair for my pedicure first. The chair was okay, but not the most comfortable. I was also picking my manicure color and they were able to match my pedicure to it. I got the Lavish pedicure, which was just that. I really liked the time and care that went into my pedicure as it was definitely a treat for myself. My legs and feet desperately needed it! Miley also began my gel mani in the pedicure chair and ended up finishing it there as well. It was pretty busy with multiple coming in, a lot of them regulars, which is a testament to the salon quality. However, I will say I'm pretty disheartened because I wanted to get a wine red/black ombré. I showed them a picture and they told me I couldn't do it because my nails were too short. I trusted what they said and got some gold flakes instead, but now I'm looking at pictures other customers have posted and they have similar length with an ombré design. BEWARE NEW MANAGEMENT! I've been a repeat customer for years. Today I arrived for my bi-weekly gel manicure and lavish pedicure. I was told my regular nail tech, Jimmy, had a family emergency and would be gone for a couple weeks. My appointment was at 1030 am. My service did not begin until 1110 am. It definitely didn't look or feel like the nail spas I usually go to. Maybe that's why they call it a lounge. Absolute lounge vibes here. Came here a few days ago for an acrylic full French set.. Literally these nails were such a joke and this was after asking for changes like 5 times. I feel like he just did them super sloppy and didn't even care to make them look good. Also, top coat was separating for some reason and instead of taking it off and starting over he just kept adding top coats. Made an appointment for a dip manicure over text. They put dip on my nails and that was it. The manicurist didn't clean it up, clean the dip off of my skin, or clean up my cuticles. When I asked about it after, she said I had to ask for it before they start. So if you want them to clean up your nails and cuticles, ask before they start, not when you make your appointment!
