Fish and chips. After adding salt and the lemon it was pretty good. Crispy on the outside, fresh tender fish on the inside.

This place is slept on, and I'm not sure why. Although some of the entrees can use a bit more flavor it still delivered in the "delicious" department. Took my sister, my daughter and my bestie out to lunch. I had fish and chips and frito misto. The fish and chips were a bit bland at first but I put some salt and lemon on the fish and it livened up quite a bit. Very fresh. The frito misto was shared between all of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Very pleasantly surprised by how delicious this dish continues to be. I can recall the lava cake being a hit the last time I visited as well but that was a long time ago. I'm hoping to return to try that out again. The service was great since we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. Kind of glad we were, made us feel special I plan on visiting again, we had a very nice time.

Love the holiday vibe in the patio!

We came here when we were in the area for my husband's treatments at Kaiser last December. The ambiance was wonderful, the dishes were amazing (we were too busy eating to get photos), and the service was great. We had a lot of fun talking with our waiter. I'd love to come back in warmer weather, to enjoy the beautiful patio!

Hands down this is the best tabouli iv had in LA

I am here to leave 10 stars review for the food and service and ambiance, I was craving mediterranean, i wanted rice and meat . And we decided to give this place a shot, I was so happy with the food and portions We ate the fillet minon plate and forgot to take a pic It was 10/10 We tried to try as much food as we could so we can judge right, and they did not let us down . The plate was perfect i would not share it with anyone next time. My favorite part was the tabouli cuz this is the salad that is always not so great every where , but this place nailed it , very delicious. Fresh balanced and authentic. Next time i am going with the fam for sure and we will try the hookah! Well done Desert Rose!

There's plenty of street parking available, Desert Rose in Los Feliz is the is great. Very spacious patio that's perfect for birthdays, holiday parties, or just hanging out a large group. They serve brunch as well as dinner. I went for dinner and sit on the patio. They do have plenty of heat lamps plus the firepits Let's talk food--everything was a vibe! The halloumi with Sojuk? Chef's kiss. I even tried fried smelt for the first time, and it did not disappoint. The mushroom pizza was savory perfection, and the Khesh Khash was so good! And for dessert? The Ashta with honey and pistachios was the sweetest way to end the night. They even have hookah if you're in the mood to chill. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Los Feliz

Absolutely delicious lunch. Chicken shawarma and salad. I will be coming back for dinner soon! Service was so friendly love it here! Great place to read and work over lunch. I've been wanting to try it for years and happy I finally did.

I get the impression that the owners of the restaurant are very passionate about the food they serve. I decided to try the Manakeesh Zaatar Pizza despite not having a clue what it was. Our server gave a little bit of background on the food, and the dish itself was really good! It was very lemony, and the crust was amazing. Though a bit pricy, I think it is worth the quality and taste. I also tried a bit of their special menu items, though I do not remember the name. It had sausage and sauteed vegetables topped with egg and a side of pita. It was truly delicious. The ambiance, as you have seen, is phenomenal. The owners often bring up the lights they bring out in the nighttime, which I hope to one day see!

If you live in LA or visiting LA then you definitely need to go and stop at Desert Rose. We did outdoor dining on their patio and it was amazing. We were there for almost 4 hours just sipping and catching up and it was a great time. My friend had the sangria and I kicked off with an espresso martini, which was absolutely delicious and perfect with the three beans. We split an order of their hummus with pita, and it was some of the best hummus I've ever had you can absolutely tell that it's homemade and delicious. My friend got the chicken Shawarma for her meal with the fries and said it was absolutely amazing and I had their salmon dish which I saved for over a half hour because it was so good I did not want to stop eating it. We then went and decided to do another round of drinks. I had a peach drink she continued with sangria, and then we ended with splitting one of the chocolate lava cakes, which was beautiful.

The damage was damaging! Valentine's menu $75pp! We didn't realize until the bill came!

Valentine's Day 2024: After the spa, we wanted to eat Valentine's Day dinner close by. Called The Desert Rose and surprisingly they had plenty of openings. Facility: The ambiance was great. Romantic lighting outside on the patio. There is a smoking section for Hookah. Tables were clean and bathrooms were clean. Parking: they have valet but we parked on the street. Service: Excellent. Our server and everyone we met eyes with was very welcoming. Where things went left: Food: So we weren't told the special "3-course Valentine's Day special was $75pp!!! Had we known that, we surely would have gone elsewhere. That's what we get for not asking. Now we know why they had space available. The menu was pre-selected. Corn chowder (4/5), cheese rolls (5/5), beef kabob (4/5), Spinach Ravioli (3/5), cheesecake (4/5), chocolate cake (4/5). I would come back again for a non pre-selected menu.

Love having slow time with my husband here. Chilling in our post-work clothes early on a Wednesday night. Gotta enjoy!

We still love this place! Always a perfect 10! from service (love our Andrew), food is always on point AND the patio is so relaxing! it's the best place to unwind mid-week and to gather with others on the weekend! Los Feliz gem!

The presentation looks great for pictures but don't be fool. The food and drink is mediocre. Cheap alcohol was used that burns when swallowed, some drinks I couldn't finish it because it doesn't taste great. It was so hot and stuffy inside (when it's still April and cold outside). The ac should be turned on for air flow since it's such a small hole in the wall bar style sitting with very low ceiling. Hardly any room to walk when there's ppl sitting down on the stool. So the stuffiness and being hot made the experience even more unpleasant. On top of all that, the lady behind the counter was touching everything including the food with her bare hands. Not once did I see her wash it between preparing, servings and cleaning the counter. Plus, napkins wasn't given when needed. When asked, she handed one tiny thin small square napkin per person ‍. Sanitation and cleanliness for the food isn't all there for the $100 mandatory tips per person is ridiculous to me. Tips shouldn't be mandatory anywhere. Plus, even with the time of our reservation. The host, John, emailed us to change our time to a later schedule.. like from 6pm to 9pm. Are you kidding me? If we wanted that time slot then we would have picked it instead of making reservation at 6pm on a Thursday night. Overall, it's just a one time experience that doesn't make me go wow.. I wouldn't want to come back because the food and drinks pairing doesn't go well together. I had better.

The food is excellent, having tried the schnitzel, kielbasa, steak frites and pierogis. If you have room in the end, the bread pudding is fantastic. Outdoor patio seating is great, and reminds of eating outdoors in a European cafe. Indoor seating is a little cramped if you're at one of the tables, which also sort of mimics European cafes. My one small knock on this restaurant is the service has been inconsistent. Couple times our waiter was great, but a couple times it was hard to flag them down, they didn't space out the dishes very well as the appetizers and entrees all came out the same time, or they forgot to bring water when we asked for it. Small things to complain about overall though.

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

We also ordered the following main plates: Beef Shishlik, Whole Branzino and Prime Short Rib Tagine. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate & Halva Sundae and the Tiramisu. Everything we had was creative, used fresh ingredients, was nicely plated, and tasted wonderful. Prices are on the higher side, as expected for an upscale restaurant. Drinks 4 stars: Full bar: Creative specialty cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and soft drinks. We had the Pornstar and the White Negroni specialty cocktails. Both were very good.
