Fraud, be on the look out for your EOB, find out how much they charged. Paid cash for a clean then after paying in the back waiting and then I was told I needled a deep clean and now I have to pay more. Out of pocket. I asked about insurance from a job I no longer had and up into this point it wasn't used before at this same office . Realized after leaving got a text saying my appointment was at 11a we had been gone for at least 45 mins minutes. She didn't give me my insurance card back. Didn't pick it up until my next appointment. Received an EOB in the mail 30 days later and my insurance sent them a check for almost $400. WHAT? FRAUD I HAVE CALLED NO RETURN CALL TO REFUND MY CASH PAYMENT OR SEND THE CHECK BACK TO INSURANCE. If this happened to me I can only imagine how many others. read more

You can go look on the AZ State Board of Dental Examiners site and look up the license of one of the dentists here- Phillip Cooke- and see the board actions taken against him. Pretty shocking that a pediatric dentist would allow someone to practice who has multiple complaints- including giving too much medication- DOUBLE the medication. Findings of fact say he worked on teeth virgin teeth with no evidence of decay and some ended up needing root canals, he also left open margins on crowns, and patients had nerve damage. While the staff at this office are wonderful, they are clearly overbooked. Every time I've made an appointment (and confirmed), we have waited no less than 45 mins past our appt time. Avoid this office at all costs. They have a policy that you must confirm your appointment. I had called and confirmed. Then, they sent text after text asking me to confirm so I did. I showed up 30 minutes before the appointment with the forms already filled out online prior and the front desk employee said I didn't confirm. I asked if my appointment was given up and she said no but two other patients did confirm. So I asked if we all three confirmed then what? None of it makes sense. She then said it was my fault for contacting customer service to confirm. I had called the number that called me... I had this appointment set for months and this was going to be the last time we came here anyways due to other issues we ran into with my other daughter. Their sister location on Olive however, is amazing! I'd rather drive 45 minutes to that location and be treated like family (the provider there is so personable and the office manager is incredible). read more

I took my two children here for an appointment at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 18th, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst pediatric dental experiences we've ever had. To start, the office was clearly overbooked. We waited over an hour and a half just for the doctor to quickly glance at my daughter's teeth--no explanation, no warmth, no patience. The entire staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed, racing from one patient to the next, with zero sense of quality care or customer service. The dental assistant who applied sealants to my son's teeth was especially rude and impatient, which really upset my child. There was no effort made to be gentle or kind, which should be a basic standard in pediatric care. When my daughter was finally seen by the doctor, she was rushed through and handled roughly--barely given any time or attention before being moved along so they could get to the next angry, waiting family. It was clear the focus here is on quantity over quality. This is not the same caring practice it once was under Dr. Umar, who was warm, patient, a gentle giant and truly loved working with kids. Sadly, he no longer works here--and it shows. This place went to hell after he left. We parents have responsibilities and limited time, and it's completely unacceptable to be stuck for hours due to poor scheduling and a chaotic office environment. We will not be returning, and I strongly advise other parents to look elsewhere for respectful, patient-centered pediatric dental care. STAY AWAY FROM HERE OR YOU'll REGRET IT!!! read more

I have only had one good experience here. I sent my daughter up with an appointment today supposed to be an emergency appointment at 12 o'clock. My daughter wasn't seen until 130 after the exam. I was told to wait in the waiting room to be scheduled for her procedure. I sat for another 30 minutes along with somebody else that was waiting just about as long as I had to wait. Nobody even acknowledged me to make an appointment while five people sat in the front office, talking amongst themselves as if I wasn't sitting there waiting. Why are five people waiting upfront talking to each other when somebody just needs to be scheduled for an appointment so they can be on their way, but they do see the other people as they are coming in. I will no longer take my children to this office. I'd rather drive to Phoenix to be seen right away as I did for my son to get his teeth done I just thought I'd give this place one more chance they've lost my business. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. We had scheduled an appointment a month in advance, and when we got here we had to wait two and a half hours before our son got his fillings done. I understand that places can be busy but that is no excuse. To me this office it seems like they really need to work on time management, because from what I can see there is none. It's unfortunate the way they set up appointments. They have had the same "we're understaffed" notice at check in for over 6months to excuse the fact they over schedule appointments and make people wait. You'll wait 45 minutes after your scheduled appointment to call you back. There's a disconnect with the phone number you call and the people in office. I had to send in my insurance three different times and when I showed up to my appointment they still didn't have it. I absolutely adore the Dentist here. He is SO great with my two kiddos (3 and 5) . My son is sensitive and a bit afraid of Dr's appointments but the staff put him very much at ease. We have been twice now with both kids. They are friendly and smiley and courteous to their patients and their parents! I saw a little boy having a meltdown and they were so patient with him. They let him take breaks and took him to a more private room so that he could watch s movie. X-rays are very different nowadays and it was super easy for my littles. They cancel your appointment without a call or move the appointment time without notification. Worst office experience, I love the dentist and techs. The office people drop the ball constantly, call to confirm an appointment only to have your appointment rescheduled/canceled an hour before calling to confirm. They are great when you are their but I was in a meeting at work when they called to confirm and I couldn't answer. I literally confirmed over txt message yesterday. I called back at 1:20pm and they called me at 11am and they had already canceled my 2 appointments and gave it to someone else. They would not work with me and they said they couldn't so anything. Took my daughter in to establish care and get a cleaning. First impressions of the office when you walk in is unsanitary, and too relaxed. Lots of people hanging out and talking at the reception. In the back, I noticed sanitizer is not being used as it should be. Gloves off and new pair on without hand washing or sanitizing in between. Not everyone is wearing scrubs so it's confusing who is what position, Location needs to be cleaned up, staff needs to be more professional. The doctor was nice though. However, my daughter needed no dental work. If she did, I probably wouldn't do it at this location. Waiting area needs to be updated and more welcoming. read more

We arrived at the office 15 minutes prior to our appointment time which fell at the end of the staff lunch hour. While I understand being relaxed at work, this is a PEDIATRIC Dentist. The staff was throwing around F-bombs in the back and there were children that were hearing it all. The staff conversation turned to asking each other sexual questions and the kids could still hearing ....there were 7 pediatric patients waiting. If the response is going to be anything about it being lunch hour, then lock the door until you can clean up your mouth. I'm not a prude, I'm actually fairly tolerant of people's actions but this is a business designed for children. read more

All 4 of my girls get their teeth cleaned every 6 months. They actually look forward to going into the dentist. The staff is very friendly and do a good job of making my kids feel safe. They do require everyone to wear a mask and do temp checks at the desk. We have been going here for 5 years and highly recommend them for your children. read more

Stay away! The care was barely acceptable, but has really gone downhill! First of all, you wait way past your appointment time before getting taken in, in an extremely cramped waiting room full of people. When you finally get in, they take your x-rays in a hallway, and the x-rays taken were unacceptable and not usable by a dentist I switched my grandchild to so they had to be taken again. Several chairs are in a large room, and again a bunch of people are crowded in. Beware! They will bill for a cleaning, but only perform a polishing. I have reported them to UnitedHealthcare! Also, a new female dentist, I believe her name was Lana Haddad, came and started digging (not gently scraping) at the tartar on my granddaughter's teeth. She was so rough, like she would have been using a pick axe on the ground outdoors instead of a human's mouth. Cavities were found - of course I had that work done elsewhere. I left a message for their office manager 3 different times now, but she never calls back. UnitedHealthcare's Complaint report takes 30 days to process, so avoid this headache at all cost - GO ELSEWHERE! read more

Usually we love this place. I have six children, ages 8 - 13 and we schedule them every 6 months for a cleaning. Well, today we went in and they refused to even see the children because they were not wearing MASKS. That's right... how stupid is that. Someone is going to be inches away from their OPEN MOUTH to clean their teeth... obviously, the kids will not have masks on at all while they are being cleaned. This is honestly the most ridiculous thing I have ever, EVER been through since COVID started with all this mask hysteria. Look, if the people at the front desks are scared of COVID, then get vaccinated and wear a mask themselves... the kids cannot keep a mask on while at the dentist... it is IMPOSSIBLE. Where is the common sense at anymore??? So now, we are on the look out for a doctor that actually has common sense. If anyone knows of a dentist office that realizes that kids cannot have masks on while their teeth are being cleaned, please let me know. I don't mind traveling to a place that uses intelligence and common sense in their policies rather than politics and fear... (and outright nonsense - see the movie Idiocracy, that is what I feel like I am living in... doctors should know better). People have put their politics above common sense and it is just outright ridiculous. Our doctors should be LEADING the common sense, not perpetuating ignorance and fear. Had a minor emergency and needed to find a place in a hurry. Ok, maybe not an emergency but my son really didn't want to start his Junior year of high school with a chipped front tooth. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating, she offered us cold bottles of water when we arrived which was very much appreciated on a 116 degree day. I was worried we wouldn't be able to get his tooth taken care of given how late and busy they were. Fortunately for us, Dr Wilson was very understanding and stayed late to help out and did a phenomenal job. My son's tooth looks better now than before it was chipped. Prior to the chip, he had one tooth that was slightly longer than before. Great experience and glad I found these guys, will definitely return! read more

Getting a half dozen kids (aged 13 to 1) to the dentist and leaving an hour later without crying is a huge win! On every visit the bathroom is clean and the dental staff is polite and friendly. Recently, my son went through a medical scare for all of us. I would like to recognize the efforts of Dr. Umar and his entire staff, at both offices, Buckeye and Glendale. When hospitalized, Dr. Umar stayed bedside to my 6 year old son, which not only showed tremendously deep felt compassion, but gave me hope and comforted me through the difficult times at PCH. Dr. Umar's thorough diagnosis and follow up procedure not only put my son on the track to health again, but showed his profound intellect and knowledge of pediatric dentistry. After only two short visits with Micaela Powell she thought she knew me and my son who was diagnosed with ADHD. I am still learning about ADHD and working through the changes he is struggling with. I was given a RX that was not covered by our insurance, we had to go out of town. So when I gave him two 10mg to replace the 20 mg I did not receive, she chastised me and refused to continue treating my son. Today I had the worse experience ever with my son. I'm already upset that his braces have delayed 6 months and has had three orthodontist work on him. Well, today the orthodontist scrapped my sons tooth while drilling it cutting about 1-2 cm deep slant. What do you do to fix it drill it more remove 2 full cm off tooth and say "I'll fill it in next visit." I don't think a full tooth needs filling if you wouldn't of trimmed, reduced or made such mistake. I took pictures and this better be fixed. Not only that we waited 2.5 hours. After this we cross the street to Walmart and bracket popped off. They over book and get a quantity of people and forget to provide quality. I've never felt so upset with a dental office. Took my girls today, alerted the staff prior to coming that one had a bleeding disorder but that I had a detailed letter from her Hematologist for treatment, get there and am told they can't/won't even clean her teeth because it's not on their form (they should have mentioned that when I initially called to set up the appointment), but what was really offensive and unprofessional is when the dental assistant told my other daughter, "Your mom should take better care of your sister's health." I made an appointment for a cleaning at 1pm. I arrived 10 minutes early, and waited in the lobby for fifteen minutes before seeing another human being. Mind you, the only reason I saw the receptionist when I did was because I had to holler to get their attention. As she arrived at the desk, a couple walked in with their children. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that my appointment was at 2pm and not 1pm. I quickly went to my car to check the notes I took while making the appointment two days prior, my notes stated 1pm. I took my son for an appointment here today and had a very poor experience. The place opens at 8am and we arrived at 820 for our 830 appt. We sat in the lobby for 10 minutes before anyone even came and greeted us. In that time I noticed the waiting room floors were disgusting! They had dirt all over them and looked like they had not been mopped in a week! I would have been a little more understanding if it was the end of the day, but they had just opened-the floors should not look like that! I have to say I almost walked out on that alone (decided to see what the 'back' looked like). Who wants to have their teeth cleaned in a dirty office? There was also empty soda cans and garbage in the kids toy area, like it was still there from the day before. They had a coffee machine, but it would have been nice if there was water in the machine, coffee to use or even cups to put it in. After finally being greeted by a staff member I was asked to fill out paperwork and then the girl was gone for another 15 minutes of no one being at the front desk. Not one time did anyone introduce themselves to me. I don't even know if we saw the actual dentist! The same girl that took my son's paperwork was the same person who cleaned his teeth. At one point another girl came over to look in his mouth and never said a word. Even though I would say this was an overall bad experience the girl I dealt with was nice and I made sure to look that the dental instruments and packaging were clean and they were. However I would not return to this office unless it is cleaner and the staff gets trained on customer service. read more
