Overall we had a fantastic appointment and everyone was very polite and nice. Great service. I was pretty overstimulated when I walked in the office. I get that they're trying to create a fun atmosphere for kids while they wait. My daughter is 2 and does not watch screens and there were screens everywhere. I realize I'm the minority with this. The tree in the middle is nice so I was having her point out the different animals in the tree. I appreciate that we had a private room for her first appointment, as I noticed several chairs in an open space. As expected, my daughter cried and was not a fan of getting her teeth looked at. The assistant and doctor were very kind and patient with her and took the time to explain everything to us and answer our questions. My daughter was happy to get a new toy at the end.

During the extraction, my daughter was saying she could feel the pain of the tooth being pulled. This was after she gave her a couple of shots of Novocain. My daughter was told, "Just bear it a while longer, we're almost done." My daughter was in pain, crying and nearly hysterical with the torture performed on her mouth. Gaby, the tech, was trying to intervene and get Dr. Chu to stop and numb my daughter, but Dr. Chu was not listening to Gaby. Now, after the fact, my daughter cry's in terror whenever a dentist is mentioned. I would like to express my whole hearted gratitude and humble thanks to Dr. Sheena with my daughter's 6 month follow up exam. Her patience and excellent bed side manner was superior! She was able to calm my daughter, for the exam and cleaning and helped restore some trust in her Dentist. She now is comfortable with Dr. Sheena with all of her future dental visits. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sheena for your child, if they are apprehensive or have any fear of going to the dentist. I would also like to mention the superior customer service and professionalism given by Veronica at reception. Her friendly smile and caring attitude always makes you feel welcome. She is easy to talk to and have a strong hold of her job duties and executes her duties seamlessly. The cream always rises to the top! Thank you, again Dr. Sheena, Gaby and Veronica!

Findings of fact say he worked on teeth virgin teeth with no evidence of decay and some ended up needing root canals, he also left open margins on crowns, and patients had nerve damage. I was told by the doctor who supervised this process, that in the event of damage, the denture would be replaced. Within less than five months, a significant hole appeared, with a second about to manifest. When I called the practice to report the problem, I was informed by the receptionist that they categorically refused to address the issue. When I protested, I was told that I would receive a call back from the office manager. I never received that phone call. Modern Family Dentistry are outright thieves, refusing to stand by their products. I am out $1236.00. A lawsuit is pending.

They are DESPERATE for money. Asked them to not bill my old jobs insurance and that I have ahcccs now and they billed it anyway just because ahcccs denied ONE out of two teeth. Granted, the old jobs insurance was still active even though I told them I don't want them to use it since I submitted an appeal with ahcccs to get it covered. I just received both letters from both insurances today & that's how I found out. I even went out of my way and called ahcccs prior to getting my teeth pulled and they said it would be covered with the $1,000 emergency dental. That's why we ended up doing the extractions because I told them I had no money to pay it. Otherwise, I would have rescheduled. They kept trying to keep having me back but why would I when they don't listen or do their job with the insurance or send meds when you NEED them. I had to call all the time just to finally get antibiotics a week later after realizing how bad the infection was regardless if the xray didn't show it. I referred a coworker there and they wanted her to do it there too even though she needs to be put under. They don't offer laughing gas either. They wanted to do her implants even though she needs an oral surgeon. Anything so they get to bill you instead of another office. UPDATE: AHCCCS did cover it the first time hence why the appeal was denied because they lied about that too. I should've known they were money hungry when they wouldn't even try to get the PA approved through AHCCCS & I had to call them. All cuz they just wanted me to pay out of pocket.

Normally I wouldn't go about leaving a review but I genuinely hope this gets used as a training…read moreopportunity: Originally my appointment was on 6/3 (scheduled 2 weeks out) but a car crashed into the electrical box causing the whole block to lose power about 15-30 min before my appointment . I called the next morning and they said they could fit me in 4 weeks from then for a follow up. Problem: it felt like I had a really bad infection. So I walked in the next day. I told the front desk what happened- she said there was going to be a bit of a wait. Understood. An hour in (I'm the only one in the waiting room crying from pain) and my fiancé asked her how much longer. Her response: we have other appointments. I get that. But I wouldn't have done an emergency walk in if our appt wasn't canceled (out of their control- but still) They get me back 10 minutes later- took a few hand held X-rays of my teeth, then dentist comes in. He took the blunt end of a metal tool and tapped on my teeth to confirm how badly they hurt in two parts. Told me I had an infection in the root canal , and that my back tooth had pretty bad decay- so they referred me to endo. First concern- I was already crying in the chair from pain and he tried to prescribe Motrin and amoxicillin. I had to ask for something stronger - not a huge concern, but still. Second concern- the endodontics place they referred me to was scheduling out a month. I called 3 locations to try and get something sooner. Third concern- i got a second opinion at ultra dental. Turns out i had an infection going up and into my sinus cavity and the back tooth had a cavity under the crown and on the nerve. They got me in same day for evaluation and offered same day service when I called to schedule extractions. I also learned that redoing a root canal can increase chances of failure a 2nd time. I don't know what I would've done if I didn't go to ultra. I work in customer service and am pretty patient, but this time around- risas really let me down and i didn't feel a sense of urgency or care when it came to getting treatment. Even though ive had good past experiences with risas- this experience left such a bad taste in my mouth i wont be returning.
