The grass was brown and mostly the golf course is dirt, it was difficult to golf there as it is very much just dirt. It is really not that much affordable, we went early morning and it was $45 for adult and child with car, for only 9 holes. The staff, one lady, was not very friendly and they really do not trust their customers, they need your phone number and address and so on because you might steal the golf car, it was awkward. The price is not good, if you really want to golf for an affordable price, I recommend you go to Hawks Landing Golf in Yucca Valley, the staff is much nicer there and the prices are better, the grass is greener in the other side after all.

The service, food and view from the patio dining area, which is just a few feet away from the tee box for hole number 1, were all fantastic and very reasonable prices. The other two some had to drive out and talk to started to get us a new cart. Then when we were on hole 18, the sprinklers turned on as we are hitting out shots. After the round we went to talk to someone at the pro shop and it was closed.... Robert the closer was nice and tried to assist us but this whole place needs to do better. Played the celebrity course this weekend and unfortunately the poor behavior from course marshals…read moreovershadowed what should have been a good group outing. We were stopped at the turn and told we had to skip two holes due to complaints from the group behind that we were holding up play. The group behind was our friends who hadn't complained or waited for us all day. Instead of a reasonable conversation, the marshal informed us that we obviously don't play much (I was 2 over) and we didn't have a choice. As we drove down the 10th, we could see the group behind still playing approach shots to the 9th, and the group behind that wasn't even on the 9th yet. He led us to the twelfth hole, where there was a backup and we waited for every shot for the remainder of the round. I've never encountered a course employee with this type of attitude, let alone expecting it when paying this much to play.

There were numerous courses to choose from- like traveling the world with a millionaire golf fan who can afford to jet from one glamorous location to another on a whim. The atmosphere at the simulator is very comfortable and inviting with relaxing couches and even a putting green! The operators are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and patient with obviously ignorant customers (me). I left feeling like I could actually enjoy learning to play golf by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by this venue. I definitely will be coming back whenever I'm in Big Bear Lake!

We booked three tee times and had a hiccup with the cart situation, which was thankfully resolved before we tee'd off. We were early for our tee times, but we still had to wait for the party in front of us to finish, resulting in a later start for our party. We did our best to keep up with the pace throughout the day, so we didn't have any issues with our pace of play. The course itself was a little rough. The greens were pretty bumpy which I wasn't expecting for the price we were paying. This was a decently challenging course, with the first hole starting out as a par 5. They had several par 3 holes spread throughout, which was fun.

There were some nice mountain views from the course. Sand and water creates some interesting challenges. The fairways were quite narrow. No forgiveness if you go off the fairway as you are greeted with desert brush. Biggest downfall was how slow it played. With tee times 8 minutes apart, we teed off a few minutes late then played an over 4.5 hour round. It was just too slow to get into any rhythm as we waited on every shot.
