My wife and I were in town for a concert and looking for somewhere "different" to have dinner and we decided to try "The Roost" Sports Bar at Hawk's Landing and really enjoyed it. The service, food and view from the patio dining area, which is just a few feet away from the tee box for hole number 1, were all fantastic and very reasonable prices. Was visiting Palm Springs and this course happened to be the only one open and available nearby at a reasonable price. We got the first tee time of the day and there were 4 of us. This was a really fun course, but man at the right time with the sun angled right in your eyes, hole 2 was rough but only because of the sun. The holes and greens were well maintained and the whole course was a blast to play. The guy working in the front office was a little standoffish towards me when we checked in after he was chit chatting with what sounded like regulars, so that was a little frustrating, but not worth getting upset over. We didn't see a beverage cart so when we looped around after the 12th hole we grabbed a Bloody Mary at the bar and wow, that was delicious! Definitely worth looking into playing here if you're in the area! read more

Hawk's Landing Golf Club is the best golf course in the Morongo Basin and it's much better than boring old Roadrunner Dunes in 29 Palms. The course at Hawk's Landing is well kept and challenging. You can play 6, 12 or 18 holes or just hit a bucket of balls. The prices are fair and their employees are very friendly. And the sandwich shop and snack bar are really good too. read more

Lovely course , great views, and fantastic price. The staff is very nice, Rosie was awesome! Every time I visit California, my mom takes us here and I love it, we have a lot of fun. We usually go for the early bird special which is Monday thru Thursday before 9 am children are $10 and adults $35 you get 18 holes and car is included, also after 3pm is $30 but that's too late for us. It is so much fun and you can easily spend all day here. The food smells delicious, never ate there, but I am sure it's really good. I love this golf course! read more

Was a bit nervous since I've been playing so poorly lately, and I get very nervous when we get paired up with other players, but this was a great course for beginners like me! It wasn't overly crowded, so I didn't feel pressure to play fast. The staff was very friendly and accommodated us when we wanted to change our tee time to an earlier slot. We were surprised by how well the course was kept, given that we were in the middle of desert. I have to give this place 5 stars because of the service we received from the lady in the clubhouse. Yes, the course isn't kept up 100%, but this course isn't meant for players that are willing to spend the money. This course is inviting for all levels of golf and still offers challenges for any type of golfer. I have a handicap and still shot at my handicap score at this course. The course is very forgiving and offers fun golf for any level. The service was amazing at the clubhouse and I'll definitely be back for that. I live in Palm Desert, but the drive is worth it if you're golfing on a budget and still want a little challenge. Definitely a place to improve your scores like I had today. Pretty well kept for the size and cost. 12 holes was perfect for us; we were pretty slow and expected to have people play through; not sure if it was because it was Memorial Day Weekend and people are more casual, but groups would just skip us and go to the next hole, so very easy. read more

My son and I were in Yucca Valley for a family wedding in Joshua Tree. We had a few free hours so we went to Hawks Landing. Even though 12 holes weren't open, we got on right away. The course won't impress with yardage, but the fairways were in good shape, and the greens are very good. The members and regulars are nice. I hit the 3 wood of my life, and as it rolled up to the group in front, no one gave me the finger or hit it back at me. It's the right place for me. Wide fairways, and easy to read greens. Jimmy in the pro shop is a great guy too. read more

I'm a newer resident to the Joshua Tree, and was curious to try out a high desert course closer to home than the litany of Palm Springs tracks. I've played Hawk's Landing about a dozen times now, and I really enjoy it. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. The practice facility is kept-up, shaded, and usually uncrowded. The pace of play is good, especially on weekdays. The course itself has a diverse mix of holes and challenges. It's well-maintained, especially around the greens, and I can tell the grounds crew cares about the place. It's not terribly long, but that's part of the fun and makes for a great walking track. I spent a Sunday afternoon golfing with my daughter at Hawks Landing. When we had completed the first 9 holes the golf Marshall drove up to us and complained another golfer had told him that we were driving too close to the greens...he was mean spirited and treated us as though we had been caught shoplifting. Upon relating this incident to the pro-shop attendant, she claimed that regular local had provided pictures of my daughter and I in the golf on the putting green. I told her that we would never drive our cart onto a putting green and I asked to see the photos and she replied that she didn't have them anymore! The pace of play was very slow and the 2 guys behind us were yelling at my daughter, who couldn't tee off because the group ahead of us was still in the fairway. Some of the greens were covered with branch pieces. Don't waste you money here...too many small minded mean spirited people here. read more

Beware of the young woman working in Cafe. I asked for a taco plate she responds with "we aren't ready" rudely so I let it go and ask to get a drink... She rolls her eyes and says "what do you want" so I ask her if she is okay because I'm appalled by her attitude and she just says yes and again rolls her eyes...how do these people have jobs? I come here weekly and definitely will not be returning because of that one employee ... She just lost your course hundreds if not thousands I wouldve spent here. read more

Our 4-some plays 2 times a week and we really like this place. It is a 12hole course so we play another 6 holes to make 18. The price is great and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant has really good food, you can't go wrong with anything you order. I gave it 4 stars because 1 of the waitresses is always grumpy. Maybe the owners daughter? I don't know. I brought my son to the driving range here and it was very affordable and overall a nice place. Guy was also very helpful and friendly. It was really windy but overall a nice driving range. We will return for sure. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because we really wished they had the rubber tees set. They don't. You can tee into the mat but it just sits so high... no tee is too low... so that was a pain for us. Otherwise it was great! read more

The area got hammered by rain recently so 3 of the holes were shutdown due to flooding, but the staff was very generous and hooked me and my girlfriend up with a nice deal. Good facilities and can't really complain much since there is very little golf within 30 miles however, this is overpriced for a 12 hole course. Went here to try it out but don't expect to return often besides to use the practice facilities. I'm more inclined to make the drive to get a better bargain and course. read more

I like this place. I came here with my brother and we had a great time. The fairways were in good shape and the greens were perfect. They have craft beer and good burgers. I am not a big fan of the 12 hole format but for a bogey golfer it still a lot of fun. It is a beginner friendly course and, if you live anywhere in the area, it is a no brainer. read more

my daughter's and son in laws wedding was great . the ceremony was perfect. The reception was fun . food was delicious.the Taco cart was a great idea. . unfortunately I do have a few complaints about that . It sucked that they booked a golf tournament the day of a planned wedding on their schedule, We were told that we can start decorating at noon. Wedding was at 3 Which 1.) that left us with little time to decorate ,set up and get ready for the wedding. I am thankful that we had all grooms men and family members to help set up. 2.) When we got there at noon, the place was packed with golfers from the tournament. We helped their employees clean up after the mess. 3.) I had them hold my grandson's milk in their fridge ,later to find out that they sold his milk to my sister.she paid $3 for his own milk. 4.) The place was rented till 10pm . we stayed till a little after 8pm. The kitchen manager is a rude ass old man. Not olny was he serving our drinks with an attitude, He told my nephew who is the DJ to turn his music off or he was going to turn it off for him. . he cut the power 3 times. One of those times we were doing our mother /daughter dance. Totally ruined that moment. Great job asshole. . read more
