    a variety of food items

Prices for some items are insanely expensive compared to other Indian stores which are few miles away. Ex: 20LB laxmi sona masoori rice bag is $23 at this store and $15 at Trinetra which is like 5 mins drive away from here. I didn't expect this huge price difference. I have been coming here from 4 years and took so many groceries including sona masoori rice bags and owner also recognizes me as a regular customer. After I got to know about this when I went and asked him, he first of all didn't expect that I will ask him like that and he didn't know what to say. He just offered me for a refund for one bag I took week before which I declined and walked out. Safe to say, I won't be going to this place from now onwards.

Stale Indian sweet ladoo. Avoid it.

Stale food with no "sell by" dates on the boxes. I purchased a box of Indian sweet ladoo for my wife today and it was stale and was unfit for human consumption. She was very disappointed. Avoid buying sweets from here that are packed in plastic containers with no sell by date stickers. Wanted to support this local business, but was very disappointed to find they don't care about quality of the items they sell. I suspect they intentionally avoid putting sell by date stickers on food items. What a shame.

This little spot has great deals on produce and the staff are really sweet. I love coming here because herbs are super cheap, many times the onions are cheaper than anywhere else, and there are always surprisingly affordable options for various seasonal items. I frequently leave with a huge bag of produce for around $5. I freaking love this place.

This is a smaller scale middle eastern store that offers produce, spices, bread and international food items. I really love their Persian cucumbers and Italian Parsley. Their prices on their produce are very reasonable. They also carry Armenian Bastirma and Soujouk, which are hard to find. They have a decent selection of spices and have an excellent selection of different brands of Labne. I needed some Aleppo pepper, which they had and also purchased some fresh Persian cucumbers. They do sell many different ethnic breads but they are not always fresh. If you see them taking bread out of boxes and stocking the shelves, that is when you know the bread is fresh. Customer service is not always consistent. But the staff are friendly.

They have a super cute little farm stand selling produce, jams, syrups, and a few knickknacks. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Cosentino's also offers classes and events among the fruit trees and flower gardens. I went for a beginner's watercolor class on a warm spring afternoon. Shaded by fruit trees, about 20 of us sat at a long table decorated with fresh-cut ranunculus flowers and learned to paint tulips (very badly in my case!) from a local artist. It was a really sweet way to spend a couple of hours and remember back when orchards were the life blood of the Santa Clara Valley. The farm features heirloom fruit varieties and picks them ripe, so I'll definitely go back in the summer for stone fruits and berries. It was a little early in the season for a good selection when I went.

I finally got the chance to visit this local fruit stand and it really didn't disappoint. It's…read moretucked away in a really nice, quiet cul-de-sac in a clean neighborhood behind Branham High School on the south side. If you live in the Almaden or Branham area, it's such a cool little hidden gem and definitely worth stopping by. The fruit looked super fresh, though the prices are higher than I expected, more like Whole Foods level prices. I thought going straight to the source would mean much lower prices, but what you lose in price, you definitely gain in freshness. For example, their strawberries were $5 per little green basket (three for $15), which comes out to about $5 a pound. At Costco, organic strawberries are $5.49 for 2 pounds, roughly $2.75 per pound. The giant seeded watermelons were $12.49 here, compared to $6.49 at Walmart. (Suggestions from a visitor) A couple of friendly suggestions that I think would be really helpful: It would be great if they posted online what fruit is in season and what will be at the stand, along with the prices. That way people can plan ahead and know when to make the drive when their favorite fruits are available. Also, there are no signs letting customers know they can go in the back. I only knew because I saw pictures on Yelp. Locals who've been here before probably already know, but as a first-timer, it looked like an employee-only area so I didn't go back there. A simple sign would be awesome, it would bring more people to the back to sit, eat, and enjoy the space since most fruit stands don't have that nice extra feature. Overall, worth visiting if you don't mind paying a bit more for freshness.

Deli - whoever is cooking this food either doesnt know how to make chinese food or just doesnt care at all. The food is too greasy and you can find better else where. Dim sun also looks terrible and old. The roasted meats look dry here and no meat... its better at the milpitas location. As I was pushing the cart out, an employee at the front who appeared to be supervising checkout/customer service, pressed a button that abruptly stopped my cart. The sudden stop caused the bar of the cart to hit directly into my stomach. I am currently 8 months pregnant, and this was not only painful but incredibly alarming. Instead of checking if I was okay or offering any help, the employee walked over and began yelling at me. What's most upsetting is the complete lack of care or basic human decency. I was not moving quickly she could have simply asked me to stop. Using a mechanism that physically stops a cart without warning is dangerous, especially for pregnant women or anyone who may be more vulnerable. I left the store in tears and completely shaken. This experience felt careless and unsafe, and I truly hope the store reevaluates how situations like this are handled so no one else has to go through something similar.
