Check your receipt. I previously bought these 99 ranch brand corn chips that are an alternative to the turtle chips. They were on sale for around $2.50 and now are $3.50 normal price. $3.50 isn't a bad price but I was charged $10.99/ bag. I was confused why my grocery bill was absurd. Check your receipts.

This review is for the 99 Ranch food counter only: 99 Ranch Market Food Counter is a quick, no frills food stop inside the mall. It is set up like a Panda Express style line, with trays of hot dishes plus a small dim sum selection. The focus here is clearly volume over quality. The food is very oily, so just know what you are getting into. They also have roasted duck and fried pork. There combo plates are stuffed huge. It does the job if you need something fast and filling, and there are tables nearby to sit and eat, which of nice, at least. There is also a separate dessert counter at the end if you want something sweet after. Not a place to seek out, but it works if the mood and pocket book hit you.

I passed by here while at the mall and saw the hot food section. I have gotten their combo plate many times in the past. I chose the chow mein, sesame chicken, spicy eggplant and broccoli beef. I planned to take this home to share with my husband, for lunch. The young lady helping me was very nice. I noticed that the portion sized they gave decreased immensely. They used to fill up the to go container to the brim. That wasn't the case this time. The total came to $16.40 with tax. I went straight home with it. My husband and I shared it. The food was ice cold, so we had to microwave it, to heat it up. The noodles were tasteless and mushy. The sesame chicken was not crispy at all. It was also mushy and mostly breading. Barely any chicken. The broccoli beef also had no flavor. The eggplant tasted good but was also just a pile of mush. What on earth happened to this place. The food used to be so good. The food was so bad today that I will not be returning again. The interesting part was that everything looked so good through the plexiglass. Very misleading and not worth the money. The only thing good here was the kind woman who helped me. She didn't cook the food so it wasn't her fault for our bad food experience.

Literally just purchased these fried shrimp dumplings and silly me, I didn't double check. When I got home, I opened the box and saw there's only 3 pieces instead of 4 like the label said. Too bad I was already home but they either forgot a piece or they printed the label wrong. Terrible.

Living in the US, Asian supermarkets are honestly a lifesaver. I stopped by 99 Ranch today and had to put together a quick list of my favorite finds. They carry a wide variety of Asian ingredients, and the produce, meat, and seafood are always fresh. Top Picks 99 Ranch Glutinous Rice Shumai with Salted Yolk: A perfect combo of salted egg yolk and sticky rice--rich, savory, and super satisfying. Chuan Ge Cuttlefish Dumplings: Packed with seafood flavor, juicy with every bite. Indomie Mi Goreng Hot & Spicy Instant Noodles: Sweet, spicy, and ready in just 5 minutes--perfect for a quick meal. 99 Ranch Five Medicinal Herbal Stew Pack (Lung-Moisturizing): Includes ingredients like apricot kernels and snow fungus--makes it easy to cook a nourishing and flavorful soup.

99 Ranch Market is located in the Westfield Oakridge Shopping plaza. Personally, I am glad to see that South San Jose has another Asian grocery store. The deli is on the outside connecting to the mall. We stopped in to get a few canned items and produce. Congratulations on your almost 3 years of being in the South San Jose area!

Looking for ocean bombs sailor Pluto and Saturn!! Still couldn't find. But, it's 99 and it's in Bay Area - great combo of choices. Just be prepared to be cold!

Sale on beef short plate rolls
    Gina O.

First impression: The store was clean and well-organized, but the prices are higher compared to other grocery stores. For example, the Napa cabbage at 99 Ranch was $1.29 per lb, while at Hankook Supermarket they had it for $0.69 per lb. I originally went in for "golden fish balls with fish roe," but they weren't available here (though they were the Wolfe Rd./Cupertino location). I saw that the beef short plate rolls were on sale so I decided to give them a try (originally $16.99 per lb but on sale for $10.99 per lb) However, my experience with the security guard was uncomfortable. He seemed to follow me throughout my visit: walking towards me when I entered, encountering me in an aisle, walking behind me in the meat section, and even being in front of me at checkout. I saw him four times within 5 minutes in a single visit--which felt excessive and abnormal. I understand security is important, but I only had my car keys and phone on me. I felt unfairly profiled. The only thing that stood out was my athletic wear and messy hair (just finished exercising at the gym), which is why I wore a hat. Will I be returning to this location? No.

Run bing/Taiwanese burrito (with BBQ pork)
    Yuki K.

This 99 Ranch is a little smaller than the other standalone stores but still has a decent selection. This review is for the run bing (Taiwanese burrito) in the prepared foods section. I've been hearing about it for 2-3 years so maybe the ingredients have been reduced after all this time - there's another photo on Yelp showing what used to go in each burrito, but it no longer has stuff like pickled mustard or bean curd. There were bean sprouts, green cabbage, eggs, carrots, and garnishes like green onion, peanut powder, sesame sauce (tahini), seaweed powder, sesame seeds, and hoisin fish sauce. The sesame sauce overpowers everything so don't get it if you don't want a slightly soggy interior, but it was pretty tasty. The thin flour wrap seems sweeter than a normal thick flour tortilla. The burrito was between 6-8 inches if I recall...decent for something that cost $6.99 ($7.65 after tax). I sliced it on my own for the picture (so kind of messy) and even after a day in the fridge it was still excellent, both cold and reheated in the microwave.

They have newspapers on the side that you can use to put in ur car so the water from the oysters doesn't get on the car carpet. The oysters were really good and tasted fresh. We ended up killing all 120 oysters last night. Highly recommend this place for oysters.
