These guys did it again! Design Window & Door previously installed new windows and shutters at my previous home in 2015. Loved their work and quality so much that I contacted them again. They installed new windows, doors and shutter again at my new home this month 2025. This company also has the best product, the quality is outstanding, and my windows look amazing. Highly recommend! As far as the professional installers, I can't say enough good things about Bernardo Jr., Christian, and Kent! They were professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable from start to finish. Terrible experience working with this company. I would rate 0 if possible. They had a measurement error which led to the project going 38 days beyond the contractual obligation. They also made a handshake agreement to install security doors, which is why we gave them the contract. They did not install these doors and clamed "this wasn't in the contract". Once they collected money, they had no intention of completing the doors. (See text message below from the owner stating they would install the screen doors). He added it to "notes" but the contract. See owners response below, he claims they were not the right doors, how can they agree to install something they didn't measure? Did they never have intenion of installing the doors? We spent 30K to get all of the windows In our house replaced + add two security doors. They mis measured one of the main windows , so when they came to install it, they didn't have the proper window to install. Two weeks later they returned to install the correct window, but had failed to measure the security doors. So now they are unable to install the security doors. We are over a month beyond the original install date and the project is still not completed. We choose this company, despite costing significantly more than others and have been very disappointed with their professionalism and lack of respect for their customers time. Paid roughly 20k and there has been nothing but issues ever since. Numerous delays and cancelations on the installation, installers requesting to use my restroom. Even when I thought I was done, the windows and doors started to leak everytime it rains. Save yourself a headache and go with a reliable company. What a GREAT experience getting our new windows! They arrived early and were ready to go when I was ready. There was no rush. These three gentlemen, Cristian , Bernardo and Noe felt like family. They were so professional and easy to talk to. There set up, install and clean up worked in a smooth orchestrated manner. It was like watching a performance that had been really well rehearsed. It was fun to watch them in action. They took few breaks and completed the project way faster than I expected. The work was top notch, making the walk through easy, and to make it even better, the windows are so beautiful! We are really going to enjoy these beautiful new windows. Steve did a great job of keeping us updated as we waited for the windows to get delivered, as well! It was easy to schedule the install date and he was really considerate about the changes we had on the install date. They told us they will check in to make sure all the windows are working as expected in the future. I don't expect to have any real issues but I truly believe if something does go wrong, they will be quick to fix it! We priced around and saw all the new options you can get with windows now. We didn't need fancy windows. We just needed to replace our very old ones. They were able to provide at the lowest price, and still give us a way better "beautiful"windows, than what we originally had. I have just had 7 windows replaced and have nothing but good things to say about the crew that replaced the windows. Bernardo had measured the windows and worked today to install and match the wood molding to the front house windows. Kent made sure that all was going well with made sure that the finished product was working and done right. Bernardo, Bernardo Jr., Noe, Christian, and Kent did an absolutely outstanding job replacing our original windows from 1947. The new heat-resistant, sound-barrier windows have made our home feel significantly cozier and more comfortable. They also replaced two main entry doors, which required them to completely remove the old, tricky frames and start from scratch--but it was no problem for this team! Bernard and the other service person did a great job repairing our back door. When the installers first installed the door last year, they didn't do the best job sealing it and unfortunately it was susceptible to moisture. After the recent atmospheric river, the door no longer closed completely. Today, the service people diagnosed, repaired, and cleaned up the area in a couple of hours. Great job! read more

Kent , Bernardo & Cristian arrived at my house promptly at 8am to install 9 windows and one patio sliding door. They were extremely polite and professional as the went over what I had scheduled to have done and made sure I understood the process. They worked efficiently and cleanly as they removed 9 windows and a slider. Some of my widows are hard wired to my alarm system and they made sure that the windows were drilled in the proper location and that my wiring was strung through properly. When they finished they walked me through the house and made sure everything was clean and working properly. I percent would recommend these guys to do your work. read more

I would leave a minus star if I could. We ordered 4/5/25 and still have not received windows. This is not a small job it's a whole house replacement. They didn't have a problem taking 50% of the cost upfront. Difficult to get information and someone to talk to regarding our project. Had 7 Windows installed which were high quality with beautiful finish. Only 2 issues was that we had to reschedule due to solar company not finishing their work on time and incurring $500 late fee non refundable for 2nd install appointment. 2nd issue the factory window on one of the windows came without a balancer so whenever you open the window it opens UNEVEN. read more

Zero stars... AVOID this company. Unexplained delays, insufficient installs and multiple requests for damages to be repaired are not something anyone should have to deal with when they are hiring a company. While this job started out lovely, with a nice sales rep, etc. the job quickly went down from there. Once we FINALLY had approval for permits and the type of windows we were allowed to get according to the Long Beach Code of Appropriateness office (that's a whole other issue with the city, which took 10 months to deal with), we then waited for our windows. When the team came to install our windows, they backed their truck into our brick and iron fence, damaging it. They promised they would fix it. They never did, to the point that I had to ask for a credit. Once the windows were installed, we were told parts were missing. Handles were the wrong color on some of our windows, caulk around the windows hadn't been triple checked, so that was missing as well, meaning WE had to go back through and caulk the sections of the windows and trim that they had skipped over the weekend. Screens were also missing. A week or so later the missing screens arrived. The door that the team had measured for on multiple, separate occasions, and was supposed to be installed with the windows, we were told was the wrong size and they would have to measure AGAIN and reorder the door. SEVEN MONTHS LATER we were told we finally had a door. And then the installation delays began. It took weeks, strongly worded emails and the owner stepping in to finally get our new door installed. Of course they left the nail holes visible and put up the wrong trim on the inside of the door, causing more emails to the owner, a request for a credit on the damaged gate after their team came out and said they couldn't fix it and it was a multiday job, something no one had told us when the damage was caused. I had originally asked for a lower credit, but once I heard how long the job would take and priced out how much more the gate repair would cost me to hire someone else to do, I asked for a larger credit, which the owner denied saying COVID had hit their business and prices. Yes, I know, I'm paying those inflated prices, and will now have to do the same with the gate I will need to get repaired on my own dime. I am generally a very reasonable client, having worked with contractors for 2+ years restoring our current historic craftsman house, and I've worked with contractors in different states on two previous homes we had lived in. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any contractor or business. I finally had to agree to the lower credit because I really and truly just want to be done with this company and never see or hear from them again. I will pay their inflated prices, eat the cost of the damage they did to my home and will have to pay out of pocket to repair, and await them coming out to fix the trim and nail holes they left in a $3000+ door install. I don't have much hope that this will happen anytime soon or be done right, so I will end up having to do this myself as well. Needless to say, avoid this company at all costs. I love to support family and locally owned businesses, but if this is how they are going to treat an almost $50k job, then I don't know what they will do to someone else. read more
