Exceptional Front Door Replacement - Danny Alonzo is the Best!…read moreWe recently had our front door replaced and are absolutely thrilled with the results! Our installer, Danny Alonzo, was fantastic from start to finish. He has excellent communication skills and gave us a clear, realistic expectation of the time to completion. He was incredibly friendly, polite, and professional the entire time -- I honestly wish every contractor or vendor we use could be as good as Danny! We picked a custom color and the door came out exactly the shade we chose. It's solid, heavy, and makes a huge difference compared to our old door. We had bought and pre-painted our own interior moulding, and Danny installed it perfectly with no issues at all. I'm terrible at making clean silicone joints around moulding, but he did an amazing, professional job on them. He even went above and beyond when he noticed some stucco damage around the front door. He pointed it out to us and patched it beautifully -- way better than I could have done myself, lol! The finished door looks absolutely beautiful. My wife and I weren't 100% sure what to expect, but the quality and the final result made the entire expense completely worth it. The door feels rock-solid and looks incredible. Let me tell you that some companies quotes were near the 12000 range! When visiting these companies they didn't even have stock.. which of course means they are most likely purchasing cheaper and reselling to you.. Not Jimmy, Jimmy was amazing since I stopped in his office. Immediately he was so welcoming and has a HUGE warehouse full of front doors ( not just doors he is ordering from somewhere else) His price also beat these prices but literally almost HALF.. It was a week before labor day weekend and I really wanted the doors installed before the weekend holiday and he was able to get them installed for me! Another note, after getting the doors installed my kids somehow locked my dogs outside for some time and they scratched our front door pretty bad ... Recently I had a neighbor whom had someone break into her home and I thought it be just bad luck for her, wrong they tried my home. Thankfully the lock on the inside was what kept them out as I slept unknowingly to what was going on and housemates not home from their 4th of July family parties. I ask that this refund be processed within 5 business days from the date of this email. If I do not receive a response or resolution within this timeframe, I will proceed with further action, which may include filing formal complaints through applicable consumer protection agencies and pursuing other available remedies. I would prefer to resolve this matter quickly and amicably. Please confirm when I can expect the refund. I paid a deposit to this business for a scheduled service, but ended up canceling the appointment in advance. No work was performed. When I requested a refund of my deposit, the business refused to return it. There was no signed agreement stating the deposit was non-refundable, and no materials or services were provided. Assaf will come and measure each window and make recommendations. He has found many errors in the plan and had them corrected by calling the architect and verifying. On my last project he recommend taking the windows out of the stairwell and he was correct because there is a code issue with setback. This found mistake eliminated 8 windows with a huge savings that would have had to been covered up after the fact. Assaf cares about his projects and clients. He will save you money and he is the best price by far.

The salesman was nice enough but a liar none the less. He said he there was a deal for $30 gift card to Amazon for every window purchased and that never happened, since then it has been even more trouble. Scheduling a measure was difficult. Only one person in the entire establishment could schedule and apparently, she got off at 2:30 every day. It took me two weeks to get a measurement scheduled only when I threatened them with the fact that their end of the contract was not fulfilled until they measured. They certainly got someone out quick then. That initial measurement was not good enough, as they had to schedule another a week later. The second measurer, who is apparently their lead foreman (even though he was the most unprofessional of everyone that I have met) also was the one responsible for my installation, talked poorly about the first guy who measured, avoided responsibility as he blamed everyone but himself, reeked of smoke, lied to my face about circumstances and feigned through the whole process he knew anything about what was going on. Back to the measurements: after the measurements, they went back and forth, poorly communicating the circumstances as to why a certain window could not be installed. Thank goodness for change order requests or I would be on the hook for something that I didn't want and they miscommunicated what they were going to do for me. Installation day it got worse. My house had already been retrofitted with thin metal windows many years earlier and so these new windows were to be installed from the outside against the inside stops, which they did on all but one of my windows. For whatever the reason, on this one window, they installed it from the inside and in order to do so, they had to damage my window to get it in, removing the slope sill adaptor. There was a good inch of space in between the bottom of the window and the sill with shims only used in the middle and a whole lot of foam spray (that window now sticks when you try to open and close it, have contacted them about it and no one will get back to me). They really jimmy-rigged the window to get it installed and in order that it didn't stand out, as it was that noticeable, they added unneeded trim to another window. At the end of the day, I had three different types of installations on the same type of window. I immediately contacted my project manager and even though he is the project manager was apparently able to do nothing. He informed me that their lead foreman would address the issue that day. Come to find out that the guy who butchered the install was the lead foreman and he did nothing to remedy the circumstance except to blame me and lie to me about the circumstances like I was some kind of idiot. There is more but frankly, I am getting tired of wasting my time on this business. Would not recommend using this company especially their passive-aggressive payment schedule that constantly holds your checks/payments hostage. DO not write a check to this company as they should not be trusted. read more

My experience was AMAZING, the project took place between Jan. 2021 to Aug. 2021! When we received our quote from Mike McLean, he was very honest and clear with his explanation of the different window options we had and the pricing of the project. He showed examples of past projects, that ranged from retrofits to fixing botched jobs from competitors. After we had chosen our windows and options. we were assigned our project manager, Martha. Goodness gracious, I did not think I'd come across someone as dedicated and hard working as Martha. all through out the project she was constantly on top of everything. She handled all the documents pertaining to HOA and other documentation, save for the documents that required us to fill out. when it came to the windows and the project she would always keep us posted on how things were going no matter if it was letting us know about approval ETAs or just letting us know about information pertaining to the factory and our order. Come June we receive our windows are ready for install and Luis who installed them did a splendid job. He removed the old windows and installed the new ones in less than five hours, all while flying solo! But alas! we were missing screens and the lock on one of the panels wasn't behaving too well. I let her know and before I could say warranty she had already called Milgard about the screens that were missing and had set up for a technician to come out and check our lock. The screens were back ordered and the lock issue was resolved quite quickly and the lock was behaving as intended. after the initial install we had to wait two months until the time of writing this to receive the screens and all through out Martha was keeping us up to date on what was going on with our order. On 8/24 our screens were delivered and installed by Ray! the install was quick, he also took care of some touch up on the paint for the frames. He also told me a little more about our windows. I want to thank you all at Design for making this project a great adventure. Special thanks to Martha for her dedication and diligence, Mike McLean for helping us with choosing our windows and starting our project, and the Techs who installed our windows, Luis and Ray, even though I was watching and asking questions they were working efficiently and never lost focus. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! This company does shotty work and doesn't stand behind their work! I've had nothing but trouble since 11/2013 all 19 windows link and when I call him he wants to charge me to fix their mess up They had damaged all my OAK trim Interior on all 19 windows which I rec'd some money back by taking him to the Contractors board... I had also had them out here to fix the leaks that when it rains the water comes in and damages my blinds, walls and carpet... Why dose this company have General Liability Insurance and won't give me the Policy # to file a claim ALL READY HAS 3 Law Suits going on right still and I guess I'm going to make it 4. He has so many bad reviews I just don't understand why he is still in business and when you look up their Bond Insurance he switches companies like every other year...License # 912367. He has been turned into the BBB some many times I have lost count. Milgard & my Home owners Insurance also came out and said it was bad Installations and used cheap CAULKING that cracked up that is how the water is getting in when it rains. Joe the Owner and his flunky bad attitudes and is Unprofessional...Every time I had asked the owner to come out and look at this sloppy work he refused on many Occasions. They also looked down on me because I was a women and didn't know what I was talking about.....I can go on & on but go check out the BBB page...... And at the end he was so worried about me not paying the last payment...He even said I need to get your payment so I can pay my worker...BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS ALL ABOUT GETTING THEIR MONEY AND NOT CARING WHAT DAMAGE THEY DO TO YOUR HOME..EVEN MARKED UP MY CARPETS LIKE I SAID I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THESE CROOKS...SOMEONE NEEDS TO SHUT THEM DONE IT'S PEOPLE LIKE THEM IS WHY PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO HIRE ANYONE ANYMORE... Design windows and doors is a very winderful company. They are a small company so its easy to always get to talk to the same person when you call. And if for some reason that person is not avaliable then the other staff members know whats going on with each file and they know how to help me I ordered over $11,000 worth of windows last month from them. (March 12 to be exact) and they have already been installed in my house! This company is on top of all of their files and they work really quickly. When i initially signed the contract with Fausto, I was told it would take between 4-6 weeks to get my Milgard sliding patio door and windows installed into my house. Well, low and behold only 4 weeks (not even a whole four weeks!) and my windows are in, and beautiful! They look so great in my house! Randy and Brandon the installers were very well educated and knew exactly what they were talking about. They did the windows without complaining one bit about the work they had to do! I love design and will recommend them to anyone i know that wants to replace their patio doors, windows, entry doors or whatever else design can help them with! read more

Just finished getting all new windows from Design Windows & Doors. I found them to be excellent in what they do from start to finish. Bill, my original salesman explained the product and process very clearly, made some great suggestions and was easy to work with. Martha was the manager of the project and helped in getting my Association to Ok the new installation. She made everything easy and kept me updated periodically until the day of delivery. She was great and a real pleasure to work with. Raoul and Jorge were the installers. They had there routine, worked really well together and did a spectacular job. They were careful, courteous and when they finished you would not have known they were here-the cleanup was perfect. I interviewed 4 companies for the job. I had several estimates to replace my windows in my Cabin. It was hard to find a company that was willing to come to Big Bear and give me the estimate let alone sell to me a price I could afford. It seems as though anytime I go to do a project on my home, the contractors want to charge me and arm and leg, that is even if they show up. I called Design and the rep came out gave me the estimate. After discussing what I needed verses what I wanted and could afford, we came to an agreement. The next step was a man showed up a few days after and took measurements. Well they just finished the install yesterday. It was suppose to be last week but we got rained out and they said they cannot install in the rain. I had retrofitted windows installed at my house and could not be happier with the results. I dealt with Fausto and could not have asked for a better person to guide me through this process. I decided to use Design Windows and Doors because of him. The entire process was easy and extremely professional, the office staff was professional, however the workers that installed my windows were sooo impressive. They were very very clean, worked steadily, there were no messes to cleanup after they left and I'm beyond happy with my windows. I have had the office contact me more than 2 times to ensure my satisfaction. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for windows. We originally had several quotes. Fausto with Design Windows came in and offered my husband and I a great price and a great looking window. We originally signed with Design however another local company (a guy with an Australian accent) came in after and offered to lower the price by $500.00. Against my best judgment, I decided to cancel with Design and go with him. Weeks and weeks went by and found out that this other company took my money and ran. It has taken us over a year to save the money back up. We came back to Design Windows, had our contract reinstated, house was measured within 2 days and windows installed right before Thanksgiving. I was delighted with how quick, professional and easy to work with that all the employees are. Best investment ever!!! A year ago my husband and I bought his house and it had original windows since 1979, dust when tin the house, we can hear the wind blowing when we had the Santa Ana winds , the house gets really cold in winter and super hot in summer, so far is been two days since Design windows change all 15 windows and a sliders door and OMG we can tell the difference it's so amazing how quiet the house is and how we are not freezing at night, we got a lot of estimates before we made our decisions and considering that we got simons windows we got a good price and the best of all is that the work was done in 1 1/2 days the guys that did the work were fast and neat the clean after them selfs and no mess. I have waited over 2 years to get my home upgraded with new windows and doors and let me say this company exceeded my expectations from start to finish.I am the first to say I am a very meticulous person that can be difficult to please and I can say that throughout the process of updating my older home with 18 new windows including 2 gorgeous picture windows and my French doors are stunning and to complete my home I had a new oak entry door with sidelightes and I cannot get over how the process was so smooth and Amy who works in the office which I made her job so difficult with calling her consistently asking questions and questions which she would answer and make me laugh with the down to earth quality her and the company has that makes you feel at ease. Last year I had 6 of my windows replaced with the Millard Style line windows, on these I liked the larger amount of glass and style for my 1960's home. Immediately there was a reduction in drafts, noise and utility cost. Fast forward a year and I finished the job with a large front window (which was a different brand vinyl window from 2007, the new Milgard window reduced noise and drafts even more), 2 bathroom windows (love the Cross Reed pattern), and Tuscany sliding glass door, I am so happy with the job, now house feels even more comfortable and quiet. When needed job finished I called Design Windows and Doors because from beginning to end, they had done such a fantastic job the first time! Yesterday we had two windows and a French door installed. From the beginning, we were provided with helpful and polite people to help us with our order. The sales representative was prompt and had answers for all of our questions. He told us to let him know if another company gave us a better bid. We got a better bid and DW matched that price. Martha was awesome in keeping us informed about the status of our project. We did wait over a month because we placed our order during holiday season. The installation went very well. We did have a mix up on which side of the window we wanted the screens placed but we can live with that mixup. They were my second bid, and I cancelled the other two scheduled for after them because I felt so confident in their experience, professionalism, product offerings, and fair pricing. I highly recommend them. Chris and Noe did the install and were 100% professional, capable and worked extremely hard and fast. No breaks except for lunch, no talking on the cell phone, no distractions - they were focused and cared very much about what they were doing and how they were doing it. I had Milgard Tuscany Windows and French Patio Sliding doors installed and could not be more pleased. I had 5 different quotes two with big box stores (who tried to switch to inferior windows), and I felt that Design Windows & Doors Inc. salesman Bill had more knowledge and met my needs. Design Windows & Doors kept me informed through out the whole process. The install went extremely smooth with Randy's crew they were very professional, efficient, organized, and cleaned up as they worked. I would really recommend the Milgard Tuscany windows the casing is so tight you can't hear any sounds from outside and the dust from outside has been cut down as well. I used Design Windows and Doors and I can't say enough how wonderful my experience was with them. I now have beautiful windows in my home Milgard of course. I got the Tuscany Series installed in my home. Absolutely Beautiful! My neighbor just booked an appointment for a rep to come out and see him for a quote. The rep that came out to see me (Joe Pentolino) which who i must say was a window pro. He was able to answer all of the questions and even recommended some awesome features. I also replaced our front entry door customized and BEAUTIFUL! The staff in the office was great as well. They were very professional and so very nice. We are very pleased with the service, product and professional installation of this company. They were the lowest estimate of 3. We were installing solar panels around the same time and the cooperation of both companies was totally in sinc and great. We had all the windows in our home, a slider, a garden window, a round window upstairs, and 4 custom smaller windows, totally 17 windows in all replaced. They kept us informed with all phases of the job and sent 2 teams out to do the job in one day. They arrived at 9am and started right away. They were clean, efficient and friendly throughout the whole job. They were done by 4pm, including cleanup. We love everything about the whole job with this company. read more

I can't say enough about this company and the level of customer service. From Amy in the office to Francisco and Raul and crew; all were very professional and knowledgable. They arrived on time, covered all furniture and areas near installation sites and cleaned up entirely when done, hauling away the old windows, trash and debris. I wanted black-framed windows and they were able to provide me with the product I wanted at a great price. The final result has transformed my home. I have already had neighbors stop by and tell me how great my windows look. Also several cars have driven by and slowed down to admire them! We recently had Design Windows and Doors installed new sliding glass doors and two large windows on either side, and the entire experience was excellent from start to finish. The sales process was smooth and stress-free. Our salesperson was professional, knowledgeable, and never pushy. Our project manager kept us informed every step of the way. We especially appreciated that this is a small, family owned, business, and that in addition to being an owner and primary point of contact, Maribel shared that she also had an active contractors license. Once we decided to move forward with Silver Lining, everything happened exactly as promised (and incredibly fast, which was also important to us, given availability on summer break). Exact measurements were taken promptly, the retrofit windows were custom ordered, and the installation team replaced all six windows in a single day. Several of the windows in my home face due south. Although they were double pane, they had almost…read morezero insulation remaining after 25 years of massive sun. The temperature in the south facing bedroom on a hot 90 degree plus day would always be nine degrees hotter than the rest of the house. I decided to replace not only the four windows in the south facing bedroom, but six other windows that can be viewed in the same field of vision from the street, to keep the aesthetics consistent. The replacement windows I selected are double pane argon gas filled to help keep the heat out during the summer season. I put out a bid on Yelp and narrowed the field down to two companies, Note I did not select the least expensive bid, but actually selected the most expensive bid. My reasoning was a solid five star Yelp rating, BBB A+++ rating and the knowledge and excellent follow up provided by the salesperson, David White. Other factors in my decision were silver coating on the glass to reduce the intense green hue that most argon gas filled windows exhibit and exterior window casings that are solid without decorative ribs that would collect dirt. I was provided with a detailed explanation of the process and same day estimate. The process from start to finish took five weeks. This would have been as little as two weeks if I did not have an arch top window. Curved windows take longer to build, at least for Ameristar. It took me a while to prepare the two rooms, so I was not in a big hurry. The installation was done yesterday. The crew was on time, polite, and from my view, was extremely careful and exhibited excellent attention to detail. The 10 windows were installed in one day. The crew cleaned up their mess very well and everything went according to plan. I am completely satisfied with the entire process. The windows are very elegant looking, not so green and make the house look better. I trust that the temperature in the south facing bedroom will level out with the rest of the house with the argon gas in the windows. Five stars all the way. Well done.

My experience:…read more So i reached out via yelp to andres and was replied to pretty quick. He was able to visit the following day to get measurements / estimate price. He was nice and explained everything. Plus gave suggestions... I gave a downpayment of 10% for everything to proceed. They then ordered it. Rough estimate would be 3-4 weeks for the entire process. They have a physical store in norco which was being run by Andres' wife. After 3 weeks or so give or take... i got a message that they were ready to install. Well within the time frame.... They informed me when they were on the way. They probably took roughly 2.5 hours. Lucas, Andres' son was present. Nothing was rushed and i saw how they handled everything... They can reuse your old door handle... but in my case, i bought a new one... just because. The price: It's pretty fair. It isn't cheap but you get what you paid for. For the peace of mind... ill do it again. Since i got a door replacement, everything was included. From removing the old one , to clean up, trash, installing... and thankfully.... the door i got doesn't need any paint. So it's pretty good. Threshold was top notch. And it seems water / insects wont be able to pop in. Will i choose to work with them again? Probably yes... Once i opt for a screen door... maybe in a couple more months once it gets a little bit cooler.

So I told him that I had called a window shop on facebook marketplace located close by and they said my window was a special order and it wasn't Milgard he then said it would be ready in 2 days for $280 I then walked in to the Milgard shop I gave him the measurements and he pointed out a Milgard window in the show room that it would look like. I gave him the total amount he quoted me which was $60 dollars more than the other none Milgard brand. He said he could have done within one week because he does a lot of business with special orders and bulk amounts of windows. Two weeks later nothing no call nothing. I called him and he seriously for got to order my window. He called me back the next day and said the window will be ready in 2 days. I picked up the window without looking for the Milgard logo as it was wrapped up and I had my handy man waiting at my house ready to install it.. After my guy installed it, I then proceeded to notice it wasn't a Milgard window. I called him back and he said I never ordered a Milgard window..and to show him the receipt when he never gave me one. Why would I go through all that trouble to go to a Milgard window shop and pay more. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN.. I see why him and his brother had a falling out and went their separate ways.. He lies, greed and and a good faith hand shake on a deal is worthless... As you can see this window doesn't have the Milgard logos or the made on date warranty numbers on it... Again check all your windows as he might sneak in a cheaper window.
