Found Designer Drains because of an ad. We were about to begin a master bath remodel. Loved the bronze octopus drain cover. We were told by our project manager to order the 4 1/4 inch; so, ordered the complete drain set. They began our project and we showed them the drain set. Later, the guys came in and did the hot mop and just threw a drain in, didn't use ours... they used a 3 1/2. They kept saying it would work out. We just reordered our octopus in a 3 1/2 and also got a shiny seahorse for our other shower. Oh, then we found out that the construction guys didn't have a crown (they didn't even know the name of the piece they needed) for the shower. I called Designer Drains and Robert called me back quickly to help me figure out what I needed! So grateful! I'm an interior designer and most of my clients don't think about this detail, but it's so important and really adds a beautiful finish to your shower floor. Absolutely horrendous. Had two seaprate transactions go poorly with this merchant. No communication, and attempted to keep our money on two separate occasions. Once with a returned item that they tried not to issue a refund for, once with an item we purchased that they simply never sent out. Had to file a chargeback with Amex & plan to report to BBB. I was on a quest to make a bathroom remodel extra special and Designer Drains delivered! All my plumbing fixtures were matte black and I used a Schluter assembly. Unfortunately Schluter doesn't offer a matte black finish. So I worked with the owner and sent the drain collar in to be painted black to match my new drain cover. Designer Drains did an AMAZING job on my new drain cover and painting the collar. It was the cherry on top of the whole remodel. I highly recommend Designer Drains! read more

Sooooo, I don't do many reviews but the quality, craftsmanship, & customer service this company has are all exceptional. I ordered hardware (knobs) for my bathroom vanity, a kitchen sink stopper/strainer, & a drain cover for my shower. HOLY MOLY!!! These things are the real deal. I was hesitant (at first) to pay the price but after receiving them, I am pleasantly surprised. They compliment my decor so well and EVERYONE that comes to my home mentions them. I waited about 1 year to do this review because I wanted to make sure the products "stand the test of time". They still look brand new even after the tons of cleaning & scrubbing that happens in my bathroom & kitchen. What a nightmare! I have been trying to work with this company FOR MONTHS. I have the phone number of someone who claims to be the owner and MONTHS of text messages to and from asking when they will be sending me a replacement drain cover that fits! I was told by them/him they were in the middle of expanding and asked for more time because they couldn't find the drain they worked on for us and months later, still the same answer. If I owned my own business, I sure wouldn't admit to my business being such a mess that they lost my order. read more

The metal drain in our shower (less than one year old) was getting rusty water on the shower floor and the drain grate was rusty, too. Arg! (Lesson learned: use plastic drains.) Anyways, after spending four freaking hours getting the rusty grate free of grout, and more hours cleaning up the rust, I realized it would be dumb to just replace the grate with the same kind that rusted (stainless steel my behind!). After finding Designer Drains on the web, I called to see if one of theirs would work. The people there were wonderful. They suggested a drain cover with a wide rim that would cover the drain and the grout we had to add. The idea is that when the drain itself rusts -- and it will -- rusty water won't get on the shower floor. We were careful to order the right spacing of the holes, and the designer drain fits perfectly. Had to buy longer screws, but that was easy. I am thrilled with how beautiful this looks, and the workmanship of the piece. Also thrilled with the customer service, and reasonable price. read more

We are a high end tile and natural stone contractor. I ordered 2 Wedi square center drains from Designer drains. This was for the metal drop in grate along with the matching metal frame for the drop in grate. I asked to have one finished in Brushed Gold and Polished Chrome for the other. Both arrived well packaged, very well finished and exceeded both both our's and our client's expectations. I came across Designer Drains on Etsy and inquired back and forth with the seller regarding the purchase of a fleur de lis drain cover as they are quite pricey but absolutely beautiful. After being told which one to order based on pictures of my newly remodeled bathroom, I realized the company had a website that offered coupon codes and decided to purchase through their main website rather then Etsy. I did not receive any emailed invoice confirming my purchase and or notifying me of when it was shipped out. I attributed this to maybe a skeleton staff due to the COVID Pandemic. When it arrived - they had shipped out the wrong one. It was circular and not square as I had ordered. I made a phone call, they realized their mistake and emailed me a shipping label to return it and said they would ship the correct one out. They did not immediately, but it did arrive. Again, no communication about it being sent out, but again COVID. I received the new one and it doesn't quite fit the drain properly. The original cover sits a bit recessed and this was evident in the pictures I sent and this one sits above the drain tray because it is a bit bigger. This causes me to bump my toes/feet into it while showering. Because it is a bit bigger, the holes do not quite line up correctly either which will eventually lead to the screws being stripped as I have a hair catcher in there that needs to be cleaned out periodically. For almost $100 minus my coupon, I am not thrilled with this purchase. Yes, the drain cover is beautiful! But for that amount of money, I would expect a perfect fit that flawlessly transitioned and it does not! read more

Stay away! I don't even want to give them 1 start but I have to to post this warning. I ordered a drain before I left for vacation 2 weeks ago. When I returned, I absentmindedly re-ordered the same drain. Luckily, I thought, I realized my mistake soon afterward. I tried to call the company but there is absolutely no one there to answer the phone. I've sent emails and nada. Then, I looked into my first order. They never sent a confirmation email or estimated ship time. I'm totally out of luck, two times. I'll be calling my credit card company. They are sketchy!!! read more

We installed an Oceanus Octopus, size 4 1/4" (10.80cm). The ordering process was easy and the custom order (no holes) arrived soon after as ordered. Installation in our shower area was easy and initially it looked very good. However the thickness of the stainless steel (1/6", ~1.5mm) used is not sufficient for the octopus design, the drain bends slightly over time. This requires to cut out the drain, bend it into shape again and re-caulk it. Over time this is becoming tedious. We learned that they use a higher thickness for outside showers, would have been nice to have this as an option upfront. read more

This company is unreliable and rips you off! They always seem to have sales promotions but these are tactics of ripping off individual consumers because they will never deliver the product. I ordered and paid for two drains from this company in early August. It took a month for the first drain to arrive, and I'm still waiting for the 2nd item nearly two months since ordered! I've asked for status update several times but no response. An interior designer friend told me about Designer Drains as we are remodeling our bathrooms, but due to this unpleasant experience, I have advised many friends not to buy from this company! Regarding the drain quality, it's just average; nothing great about it. It's thin metal. If you are looking for nice drains, I recommend visiting a plumbing store and looking at California Faucet or other options. It may be more expensive but it's better quality, service, and you won't be ripped off! read more
