I ordered flowers through 1800FLOWERS to be delivered the day before Thanksgiving. The order was fulfilled by Designs by Carol. When the flowers arrived, I realized they had sent a completely different bouquet from what I had ordered. I called Designs by Carol directly to resolve this and they were amazing. The women I spoke to on the phone told me she would correct it immediately. The correct bouquet was sent a few hours later and they even included a free box of chocolates as an apology. I would love to be able to give them a much higher rating because the flowers were absolutely gorgeous, however they arrived without a card. Since May 1st I have emailed 3 times (to two different email addresses) and called twice to try to get the name of the sender so I can properly thank them as I'm sure they spent a lot of money. Do you know what I've heard back? Not a peep. It should only take 5 minutes to look up my order number and email me the name of the sender. If you don't want your recipient to know who sent the flowers then be sure to use them. Otherwise I would steer clear because they clearly don't realize how important customer service is. read more

The flowers lasted weeks and were so fragrant, you could smell them in several rooms. My son ordered flowers for me for Mother's Day, they were to be delivered on Thursday, May 8th. They never came on the 8th, or the 9th or the 10th. They were delivered on Mother's Day the 11th at 5:30 p.m. They were completely dead, the water in the vase was almost gone and it was green and smelled terrible. Hi - I left a review on (I think) their website. Others have had similar bad experiences. This is the update. My arrangement was damaged, I called to get it replaced. No new arrangement ever came. I called again today and spoke to Ed again. He said they sent another arrangement but I never received it and he didn't have a picture of the second delivery. He did have a picture of the first one and saw the damage. I said I would like my son's money refunded to him. Designs by Carol made the spray that represented my siblings and me at my dad's funeral. I did not choose this florist, but had ordered the spray via 1800-flowers, which contracts "Carol" in the Chicago suburbs. Because the flowers were for a funeral, I neither photographed them nor kept them long enough to know how lasting they were. For the most part, the arrangement resembled the spray I had ordered specifically for its blue color scheme. The white roses, carnations, and lilies seemed fresh, particularly by comparison with the delphinia, which were sparse and conspicuously limp, even for a flower that is notoriously delicate. I snatched one stem as a keepsake, and it has not fared well. Pressed and dried, the delphinium doesn't look much different from the ones in the arrangement. What provided the blue element I had wanted was the enormous bow that made possible an option not offered by 1800-flowers: a "banner" that read "Beloved Father"; however, this was in the form of foil cutouts of the two words, stapled to the ends of the bow. The overall effect was kind of tacky, but my mom likes banners, which are an option offered by fromyouflowers.com -- from which I had ordered flowers on her behalf for lower cost. Unfortunately, I could not determine from the card which florist had serviced that order. Had I known (and had I not had an Amex rebate offer and free delivery from 1800-flowers), I would have used that florist instead. At least fromyouflowers.com gave me "lifetime" free delivery for my (mom's) order, so I guess I've got a lifetime to find out. read more

The vase was the same but it was not even close to the description or quality for which I thought I was paying. I called 1-800-flowers. They called this florist to replace the original arrangement. Even the redo was not reflective of what I purchased. I am planning to call again. However, I will never do business with either again and if you are a local person and have a choice of florist and you are contemplating this florist what ever you do find a different florist. read more

Wow! I received the most beautiful birthday bouquet from my sister. I think she ordered from 1-800 flowers. Actually I looked at their web site to see what the flowers were supposed to look like. And.....THE ONES I GOT LOOK JUST LIKE THE PICTURE!! All the flowers are fresh and they smell so sweet! One star for being able to actually do a delivery... zero stars for the flowers... they were dead! My husband placed the order through 1800 flowers (that's a whole different unpleasant story) . My husband paid extra for delivery on the Friday as it was Mothers Day weekend. Mother's Day being the anniversary of the death of our daughter and a very difficult day as you can imagine. The flowers arrived and immediately I could see through the cellophane wrapping the flowers were old and way past their best ... upon unwrapping two roses fell apart in my hands and the rest were not far behind. The alstromeria was already rotting and yellowed leaves. The Pom chrysanthemum falling apart. The water so dirty that there is just no way that this could have been made fresh ! I immediately tried contacting Designs by Carol as that is who 1800 used as their fullfillment centre. ... voicemail! I left numerous messages saying how disappointed I was and could someone call me back urgently! So far its almost a month and nobody from Designs by Carol has bothered to call me back! 1800 is a joke and promised to have a new arrangement sent the following week... which never transpired... many phone calls and online chats and we were then told the florist cancelled the second replacement order! So eventually we received our money back after many emotional tears on my part. I did not need to be sent dead flowers for my dead daughter! Having been involved in the floral and events industry for over 30 years in 3 different countries... I am just absolutely flabbergasted that a florist would even think this is remotely ok to send such shoddy work out and flowers that were way past their best! I've delivered for this company for a few years around holidays. Quick money but such an absolute headache of an establishment. The managers don't know what they're doing, nobody has routes ready for drivers to take orders, and the communication is terrible. You have to text or call these people individually, no one talks to each other so you have to explain 2-3 times to each person. They don't tell you your route is ready or where you're going until one hour before you have to be there. Just an absolute migraine. read more

I received the most beautiful adorable Hawaiian kitty cat bouquet... as the recipient, I don't know how closely it matches the photo that my friend ordered from, but I absolutely love it; it's perfect & adorable!
