Due to my Italian decent, my hair is naturally brunette, a bit curly, and the color often changes drastically depending on the season. With that information handy, it's extremely difficult to color, maintain, and being as picky as I am, even harder to have cut correctly. A coworker of mine recommended Shazi, a friend of a friend, and her long time stylist. I decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad that I did. Shazi's boutique salon is located inside a larger salon, but provides privacy and an uninterrupted space for the consultation, and services. This was a concept that I was not familiar with prior to visiting Shazi, but I loved it. Her little boutique is just for you - awesome music playing in the background, and cute, relaxing painting to put you at ease. Shazi also helps put you at ease. She took her time in getting familiar with my hair, it's history, and making sure that we were both on the same page about what was feasible, and what she could offer for me. 3 hours of coloring, cutting, washing, and styling later, my hair was a masterpiece. Shazi was able to accomplish exactly what I wanted, a feat none of my prior stylist have been able to even come close to doing. Shazi was so friendly the entire time, and honestly feels like a long lost best friend by the end of it all. I explained concerns from a previous experience here solely to clarify my preferences and ensure a good stylist match. Instead of asking follow-up questions or discussing fit, he made a snap judgment that I "wouldn't like it here," refused to explain his reasoning, and abruptly ended the call. Declining a client is one thing; doing so without explanation and hanging up is another, ESPECIALLY when at no point did I talk or behave in a way that was inappropriate, or out of line. I did my due diligence as a client. I was consistently polite, never lodged formal complaints, never criticized stylists directly for their work, and compensated fairly with tips regardless of personal preference or outcome. Being abruptly told that I'm not a good fit there by a receptionist/"manager" who is not the service provider and does not have firsthand involvement in the stylist-client relationship is not only disproportionate and inappropriate but a role violation. While I understand that businesses may set boundaries when a client crosses a line, that was not the case here. The decision to cut off service without prior discussion, warning, or involvement from the stylist themselves was uncalled for, completely baseless, and outside of his role. This is outside of his authority to make this abrupt subjective judgement call. His conduct falls below acceptable ethical, moral and professional standards. A qualified manager would have asked what didn't work previously and determined whether the salon could meet those expectations. That conversation never happened. This action was extreme, beyond unjustified, especially given that no complaint was being made at the time and no misconduct had occurred Sharing this for others who value respectful communication and professional consultation when booking services.

She made my lashes look great. The only problem for me is that my natural lashes are fine so the lash extensions over time got too heavy to hold them upright so after a week or so they would flip and poke my eyeballs. After a few months, I decided to take a break and try to get my lashes strong before I tried extensions again. The front desk staff are amazing. Very friendly and personable. The salon is clean and cute. Def will go back once I get my lashes strong.

SUPER STAR HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTIST!…read more I've been admiring Sheila's work for years on social media, so she was my dream hair and makeup artist for my wedding day. Only problem was, I wasn't sure if I could make it happen since she lives in Texas and my wedding was in Arizona. Lucky for me, she travels! Y'all, I TRIED finding another hair and MUA locally that I liked just in case I couldn't get her, but nobody came close. Before the big day, she coached me on what to do so I'd look my best. I never had a trial, but I went in with full faith and gave her free rein to do whatever she thought was best. I even joked that she could say "Okay Izzy, we're going to shave your head and wax off your eyebrows!" and I would have gone with it. My trust in her was that absolute. Of course, she would never do that though, lol. I'm often nervous about people doing my hair and makeup, because my skin and hair can be challenging. I have textured, combination, acne-prone skin and fine, frizzy, unruly hair. Sheila was unfazed by these obstacles, and, boy did she deliver! My hair and makeup could not have been better! I felt so beautiful, and the makeup withstood me crying through the entire day. My husband cried when he saw me and immediately complemented me on how stunning I looked, and then said "Sheila did an AMAZING job!" Everyone said I looked like a princess, and I'm so over the moon every time photos come in. My hair and makeup stayed flawless throughout the event! I had two bridesmaids that chose to have Sheila do their hair, and their hair looked STUNNING! After my MOH witnessed what Sheila did for me, she asked if Sheila could do her makeup last minute, and she was able to whip out a gorgeous look on her so fast! Sheila was an absolute blast to hang out with while we got ready. Her positive energy was a joy to be around and put us all at ease while she worked on us. She is worth every penny and more!
