Brought my engagement ring to be repaired. When I picked it up, it was not my ring. The band was significantly smaller in width .( original band was platinum, what I got back was NOT platinum )The clerk swore it was my original band. With COVID-19 shuttering most business, I kept buying watches instead of replacing batteries. I brought four different watches in and they not only replaced the batteries, but also had a nice collection of watch bands. Being in the medical profession, I needed a silicone band for ease in disinfection. The new band was a success. The band popped out during a shift and they promptly fixed it, no questions asked! Surprisingly they had a collection of watches that work for healthcare because they have 24 time numbers next to the 12hr labels. I was excited! I described how hard it is to find nice watches with 24hr time, and to my surprise she was one of the owners and promised to order some more! My fiance and I just purchased my engagement ring and our wedding bands at Desjardins - what a great experience! They have quite a few in the case to look at and once I decided on a style I liked they had a few different options brought to the store for me to try. They also ordered three different stones for me. The first two I looked at weren't quite right (the cut wasn't what I wanted) so they happily ordered a third. It was perfect! Once we decided it was a very quick turnaround getting the stone set and the ring sized. Kim, Ashley, and everyone else is very friendly, knowledgeable and nice to work with. I've also had other rings sized here and a necklace fixed. Service is always pretty quick and I always get a friendly phone call with items are ready. There are many former Beverly establishments that were successful for years but were just unable to compete with the large chain stores-thankfully Desjardins didn't suffer that fate. I think they are still a family owned establishment but they have used what did work (jewelry repairs for one) and expanded their merchandise so it still includes the fine jewelry they always sold and the traditional but hard-to-fine things (e.g., sterling silver baby cups/rattles) but added very unique and interesting and very affordable items (which makes it difficult to rank/rate the price range). The women who run/own it (maybe there are males but I've only seen the women) are incredibly accommodating and helpful. I feel good that I am supporting a local business but sacrificing nothing by doing so. read more
