This rating is for the hours this Peabody MA store keeps. They list 11:00 under open hours but at 5 after 11:00 they say it will take 15 more minutes to open since they need to put the jewelry in the cases. I saw the staff saunter in at 10:55, so why don't they get there early if it takes 30 minutes to set up? read more

I wish I could give less than one star. This place sucks. I never leave reviews but was compelled to after the terrible experience my fiancé and I had here. We went to pick our wedding bands and the staff seemed completely clueless. Shame on us as that should have been a red flag. They screwed up the sizing from what we originally chose and my fiancé's engagement ring didn't fit with the band as they assured it would. Then they hassled us about our refund. No offer of a discount for an alternative and hour upon hours wasted. Do anything you can to avoid this dumpster fire and the staff that works there. read more

My watch needed repair. When I came to pick it up, the repair company left my watch with a scratch on the faceplate. Spencer sprang into action and made sure to solve the problem immediately, while staying very professional and apologetic. I left with a brand new watch that was the same style as my old one that I loved so dearly. I can't commend the customer service enough. Really great team. read more

I went to zale to look for a ring for my husband for our 20th anniversary and i end up wanting a diamond ring for myself.... lol but really who was very helpful to me was Adam one of the sale person there... he so sweet to me...he took his time help me find a ring that i like and work with my budget that i had spend hours there look at the diamond that i was interested and was not too sure about it because i knew nothing about diamond and also since i had a baby it was really hard for me but it was our 20th and i never had a ring and my husband say pick one hun....thanks Adam!!!!you are the best and so patient and understand with me and my family. read more

I'll try to make a long story short. My boyfriend bought me a diamond ring from Zales, Burlington, MA, about a year ago. We were told we could upgrade the ring by one of the managers. Back in April 2016 we went to the Burlington Mall to check out new rings at Zales. Umm... they were gone! They didn't renew their lease and they were closed down within days. We went to the Zales in Peabody MA back in April and we were immediately told we couldn't upgrade my ring. My boyfriend and I told the manager, Valerie, that we were told we could upgrade the ring. Apparently, she did us a favor and allowed us to upgrade the ring. That was on April 9, 2016. My boyfriend picked out the most beautiful diamond ring and we were told it would be ready in 4 weeks because they had to have it sized for me. (I have FAT fingers) I called on May 9, 2016 and Valerie said it could take up to 6 weeks. I called on May 19 and my ring still had not arrived... 6 weeks later. I was told it could be another few weeks. I went to Zales around May 28 and asked if I could have the ring from the case and I would have my own jeweler size it.. Valerie talked me out of that and said it would be a couple of weeks. I called Zales again on Friday, June 3 and was told the ring was not ready. I was really panicking because I didn't have my old ring and Zales kept saying another couple of weeks. Within a half hour.. the manager, Valerie, called and said my ring had finally arrived! I went to pick it up on Saturday, June 4, and another woman couldn't find the ring in the store! I was starting to panic and I felt like I had to throw up. I just kept repeating...Call Valerie, call Valerie.. finally the woman called the manager and she found my ring. Valerie, I'm so sorry I hounded you every week, but I already had a bad experience with another jeweler. I was told the ring would be delivered in a week, another week, overnight, etc. and I never got the ring and it took a while to get reimbursed. Valerie, I can't thank you enough... it took a while, but the diamond ring is STUNNING. I've worn it 4 times to work and received compliments every time. Thank you so much! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would but let's talk about my experience with this particular store and the company. My boyfriend had purchased a ring which was an online exclusive apparently, we got it shipped to the house came early which was good. The problem was the entire ring band was messed up and not bent the correct way. There was also a piece of felt stuck between the diamonds base and I could not get it out. I've had the ring for 3 days before we brought it back to get it sent out and fixed. It took longer than 2 weeks to get back and I only got it back because I was harassing them for it. I get it back the felt piece was still stuck in there and the band was fine. 5 hours later my diamond pops out of the top and is gone. A week later I brought it in because I was away and had them see for themselves. The manager or as she said she was the manager Karen said she would order me a new one and maybe the one I got was a defect. I've waited maybe a week or two for a phone call that my new ring has arrived. I get the phone call today on 6/22/2021 that it has and that it's ready to be picked up. I get to the store and I start to examine my "new" ring. It looked like someone had rubbed snot into the base of the ring the other side of the band had a chip in it and the base where the diamonds sat was not straight at all! When I had brought this to Karen's attention she started telling me it was perfect and nothing was wrong with it and that I was basically being delusional. The other lady working there very nice lady I never got her name took my previous ring and the new ring and examined it and told me and Karen that my previous ring looks better than the new one. Karen lost her shit started having a big attitude and took the ring out of my hand. She kept interrupting me while I was trying to speak. She walked away and started screaming I can't go over there, I can't be over there right now acting as if she was in disbelief that I'm being difficult. Told me that it wasn't a $20,000 ring and it wasn't going to be perfect. No matter how much money was spent it should still be perfect. I asked for a refund to original payment and all I got was attitude from Karen. Telling me she needed my sku number and demanding it. I gave her a phone number and my boyfriends last name and she found it in 2 seconds. I got my receipt for the refund and Karen never said anything. If you want a messed up ring and someone who's going to give you attitude and take things out of your hand and interrupt you while your speaking and be lied to go to Karen. I will never be purchasing jewelry from this zales or the company ever again. It's better to go some places else don't waste your money or time here. My boyfriend and I have been nothing but respectful and patient to only receive attitude and bad behavior from a so called manager named Karen. They only care about customer service if your spending $20,000 on a ring apparently as I heard from Karen! read more

There was absolutely no pressure to buy and the sales person actually talked me into purchasing a slightly cheaper ring because it matched by engagement ring better. Who does that? "I was very satisfied with your product but the service made me never want to shop here again." That's what I said to the lady that worked there, anyway. I LOVED the diamond jewelery I got there. Zales is great for beautiful, sparkly diamonds that are reasonably priced because of minor inclusions/flaws that are not very noticeable. But be careful to examine any diamond thoroughly before buying. The lights in the store make it hard to examine, and my diamond had a small black spot on the edge that I hadn't noticed before. I wish I had returned it, but then again, the diamond was big and clear and sparkly and you can't notice the inclusion unless you get up close so I didn't mind. I still love the diamond. Now about the service - it sucks. It's easy to buy here, but if you ever need any repairs or assistance, forget about it. I waited for 45 minutes to get my ring sized (which they charged me for .... Who charges to take gold OFF a ring and make it smaller?) and was treated with a very rude attitude by the middle aged blond-ish lady that worked there. When I got the ring back, it was still too big. Thankfully they agreed to correct the problem for no fee. Zales is great, just not at this particular location! read more

If I could post zero stars I would. I stopped at Zales at the NSMall in October to have a ring sized. The salesperson was helpful and suggested two small beads inside the ring. I disagreed, saying that larger beads would be better because the ring was heavy. She ordered the smaller beads and told me it would be two weeks. At the three week mark, I went in and was told that the ring was in the store. They couldn't find it. As I was leaving, they found my ring which did not fit because the beads were too small. I was told that they would send it back and it would be ready in one week. I did not hear from them so called and was told it would be a few more days. Almost two weeks in total not one. A few days later I was in Braintree and saw a Zales. Asked a very helpful salesperson named Laura to call the Peabody store and find out where my ring was. I heard her asking lots of questions to The store manager Lila (?). She hung up and told me that Lila could not find my ring and had no record of it. I called Lila and was on the phone for over 20 minutes while she argued with me telling me she had left me a message for approval of a band. She never did. She told me that my phone number started with a 508. It does not. She accused me of giving her the wrong number and would not listen when I told her repeatedly that she must have the wrong customer. I did not have a band added to my ring, I had beads added. She told me I was wrong. She put me on hold for 8 minutes while she called the shop and then disconnected me. I called back and asked for Steve the DM's number. She would not give it to me and she could not tell me where my ring was. I called corporate Zales and spoke with Michelle who was truly taken aback by my experience. She filed a complaint against the store and connected me to Steve. Steve was also appalled by my experience and called Lila. She finally figured out that she had the wrong customer and called me, laughingly saying "I guess I made a mistake". Steve called me to apologize profusely and had followed up to make sure my ring is shipped. I will never shop at Zales again! read more

I bought a money clip that had a manufacturing defect - $350 for the clip - a lot of money. Gold and Silver. Only used it a few times to a few special occasions. It fell apart and when I called Zales they blew me off ... "out of warrantee" ... its just made wrong and they wouldn't even look at it. Disappointing. I'll never shop there again .... :( read more

If you would like to be lied to and not have a ring for your wedding day, this is the place to go !!! We got lied to so many times to our face, over phone, everything. Did you know their rings come from India and can take even longer if the weather is stormy??? Did you know their rings also take more than their "4-6 week waiting period" yep, ME EITHER. I had no ring on my wedding day. Nothing... no replacement, no temporary ring. Absolutely nothing. And they had the AUDACITY to tell me if I wanted something temporary for their mistake I would have to pay out of pocket. My husband and I CHASED them, literally called everyday twice a day. Went in person for 2 weeks asking about the ring, questioning the ring. Every time " don't worry it'll be here for the wedding." As it got closer to the wedding their story was " it'll be here tomorrow" well we call the next day, " tomorrow it will be here" every time we called and asked it was a different story and another excuse. Now, a week after my wedding, nobody has called us back, nobody has returned our questions. I called corporate a week ago, they said they will look into it, I HAVENT EVEN HEARD BACK FROM CORPORATE. To future brides and brides to be, DO NOT shop at this Zales. If you want a physical ring on your wedding, or the security of feeling like you will have a ring ready prior to your wedding, do not go here. read more

Went here a couple of months ago to buy a bracelet for myself and i was very happy with the customer service. I had to get one band removed from the bracelet so that it would fit me better and the lady at the front desk(forgot her name) was very attentive and did just that for me. Zales has made my engagement ring experience a very stressful experience to say the least. My fiancé brought in a family diamond and had the diamond placed into a new setting. From what I've heard talking with fellow engaged/married friends is the jeweler normally asks how big the individuals fingers are so they can try to get the closest ring size so they don't have to go down or up too much. Anyone that knows anything about jewelry knows that it's not good for the integrity of the ring to size it more than three times and more than two sizes. Anyways the size of the ring was an 8, I'm a size 5.25. They refuse to answer me and refused to reset it in a smaller size so I gave up that fight. On top of that, I've now had to bring my ring back to get sized three times because they can't seem to get it right. It has taken 3 weeks each time so I didn't have my ring for almost 2 months when I first got engaged which was a huge bummer. I was so desperate to have my ring so after the second time I wore a guard for awhile. I was told on the phone they would rush it the third time but when I got to the store they wouldn't rush it even though it was the THIRD TIME and their mistake... Talk about poor customer service. So the third time when I went to drop it off the women who helped me seemed to not know what she was doing so I made it a point to tell her that the value of the ring and what the slip says are two different amounts because my fiancé already had the diamond at time of purchase. I told her that the value of the ring was $14,000 because after all this trouble I wouldn't be surprised if they lost it or had it stolen so I wanted them to have the right amount God forbid anything like that happened. After walking away, I looked at the slip and noticed she put the value in as $1,400 instead of 14,000. So I went back to tell her, the woman looked at me shocked, almost in disbelief that the ring was worth that much. The diamond my fiancé brought in is very good quality and over a carrot. On top of that Zales was the one who appraised the ring in the first place! The fact the woman working couldn't tell the difference from a $1,400 ring and $14,000 ring just proves that they have no idea what they're doing... Their customer service is just as bad, I've called twice and have heard 'sorry, there's nothing we can do' both times. I am so aggravated with this company and their poor values. I will 100% make sure anyone I know will never buy from here. read more
