This was my 100004484 visit. I love this place. They are so consistent in their baked goods. Everything is SO GOOD. The pecan pie bars are my absolute favorite thing. The strawberry cake is the best I've ever had. Every time I walk in I am so excited, and overstimulated... I somehow black out and walk out having spent $100+ dollars. Ok, here's the best we can do regarding a review of the six slices of cake we tasted: 1) French Vanilla Cake: like every (good) wedding cake you've ever had - vanilla butter cream icing was not sickening-sweet, the vanilla cake was moist (if you can bare that word). Proper density and sweetness - the overall champ. 2) Everyone's Favorite Mousse Cake: tasted like a compressed cocoa powder on the bottom, then the mousse was potently chocolate, and the whipped cream and chocolate curls on top put this one on the Top 3 podium. 3) Old Fashion Diner cake: a no-nonsense vanilla cake with a fantastic chocolate butter cream icing is enough to make you keep coming back for another forkful. 4) Carrot Cake: cream cheese icing is borderline over-sweet, the cake was pleasingly-succulent, without the carrot being overbearing. 5) Mom's Chocolate Cake: Not overly-sweet but a MUST for the chocoholic. Willy Wonka would be impressed. Generous helping of chocolate shavings added to curb-appeal. 6) German Chocolate Cake: this was given as a gift to someone who ate it and later reported moments of pure euphoria. Waited forever for the shake only for the girl who took our order to hand us a strawberry shake because they don't have oreo shakes, so we requested a chocolate shake instead. While we waited an eternity again for the chocolate shake I took a bite out of the cheesecake and bit into two pieces of eggshells, I went up to the girl to show her and she still says "are you sure?" However, this cake was delicious. It was pink, my fave color, moist and sweet and the flavor did not have a super artificial taste. I'd totally eat it again which is saying a lot for me with strawberry flavored foods. Toffeelicious cake-omggggg so good. Coffee and toffee flavors were combined for this delightful cake. It was my favorite, hands down. Sweet, but definitely a perfect treat. The Big O cake-looks like it's going to be very dense but this mousse cake is light, sweet and has Oreos in it. Quality has really changed here. The last few times I visited, my cookies were rock hard and the cake was ice cold. I used to love this place, but I won't be back. I truly try to give places grace, but today I returned my cookies because they were frozen, and then got home to find my cake was ice cold too. Very disappointing and not acceptable. They changed their once amazing German chocolate cake....now it's very light colored ie low quality cocoa powder so cake only tastes of sugar. The icing used to be a lovely dark chocolate but now is just a sugary buttercream. They are also charging more per slice, smaller portion, and a cheap sugary mess. I've been a loyal patron for 15+years and I will not be back. Why would you change the ingredients on some that was near perfection? Horrible customer service. Came in to pick up a cookie on a Thursday afternoon (before 1pm). There was one other customer there who was being attended. I stood there and I waited and waited. Bear in mind that there was an employee behind the counter (immediately in front of me) with her back turned to me. She turned two times and made eye contact with me and did not acknowledge my existence. Another employee came in from the kitchen and stood there and, like her counterpart, say nothing and did nothing. After about 10 minutes of standing there without even being acknowledged, I left. If any of their management manages to read this, it's not that difficult to say "hi, we'll be right with you". That goes a long way. Not even acknowledging/looking through your customers says a lot about their business. It's a shame because I've enjoyed their treats over the years. read more

I opted for the Lemon Blueberry Cake with some Vanilla Ice Cream (Yes...I'm lactose, but it was one of those kinda days)‍ My friend had the Italian Cream Cake. Mine was better texture wise. This restaurant is very slow and busy at the same time! What I mean is there are a lot of people who work here and just walk around with their heads cut off. It doesn't matter what time you go it's always the same. I have visit on more than a couple occasions and the same thing. I thought if I went at different times the service would be different...nope! Today I went in about 5 PM and I thought it wouldn't take long because there was no line. So I walked right up and even though I seen four people behind the counter I literally stood there for about four minutes (because I timed it) without anyone saying anything not even a hello we will be right with you!
