This was my 100004484 visit. I love this place. They are so consistent in their baked goods. Everything is SO GOOD. The pecan pie bars are my absolute favorite thing. The strawberry cake is the best I've ever had. Every time I walk in I am so excited, and overstimulated... I somehow black out and walk out having spent $100+ dollars. Ok, here's the best we can do regarding a review of the six slices of cake we tasted: 1) French Vanilla Cake: like every (good) wedding cake you've ever had - vanilla butter cream icing was not sickening-sweet, the vanilla cake was moist (if you can bare that word). Proper density and sweetness - the overall champ. 2) Everyone's Favorite Mousse Cake: tasted like a compressed cocoa powder on the bottom, then the mousse was potently chocolate, and the whipped cream and chocolate curls on top put this one on the Top 3 podium. 3) Old Fashion Diner cake: a no-nonsense vanilla cake with a fantastic chocolate butter cream icing is enough to make you keep coming back for another forkful. 4) Carrot Cake: cream cheese icing is borderline over-sweet, the cake was pleasingly-succulent, without the carrot being overbearing. 5) Mom's Chocolate Cake: Not overly-sweet but a MUST for the chocoholic. Willy Wonka would be impressed. Generous helping of chocolate shavings added to curb-appeal. 6) German Chocolate Cake: this was given as a gift to someone who ate it and later reported moments of pure euphoria. Overall, this has a great vibe, its clean and bright, with a pleasing decor and presentation. The staff was very helpful and pleasant! I was disappointed by the interaction with the attendant when I asked about the plaque I ordered with a cake. It wasn't clear to me on the website that the plaque was separate from the cake, and when I asked for clarification, the attendant was dismissive. He suggested I simply put the plaque on the cake, even if it meant destroying the decorations. When I offered constructive feedback about the situation (i.e. make it more clear on the website), his response was, 'I just work here,' which was both unprofessional and unhelpful. read more

You are welcome to use it. In the simplest of words the Strawberry cream filling was amazing in the chemistry of it's dance with the Lemon cookie. Horrible customer service. Came in to pick up a cookie on a Thursday afternoon (before 1pm). There was one other customer there who was being attended. I stood there and I waited and waited. Bear in mind that there was an employee behind the counter (immediately in front of me) with her back turned to me. She turned two times and made eye contact with me and did not acknowledge my existence. Another employee came in from the kitchen and stood there and, like her counterpart, say nothing and did nothing. After about 10 minutes of standing there without even being acknowledged, I left. If any of their management manages to read this, it's not that difficult to say "hi, we'll be right with you". That goes a long way. Not even acknowledging/looking through your customers says a lot about their business. It's a shame because I've enjoyed their treats over the years. read more

They changed their once amazing German chocolate cake....now it's very light colored ie low quality cocoa powder so cake only tastes of sugar. The icing used to be a lovely dark chocolate but now is just a sugary buttercream. They are also charging more per slice, smaller portion, and a cheap sugary mess. I've been a loyal patron for 15+years and I will not be back. Why would you change the ingredients on some that was near perfection? We were upset to see they only had one type of mini sugar free cupcake. He ordered a small mini carrot cake sugar free cupcake. It's literally the softest, juiciest cake I've ever had. The chocolate icing was perfectly sweet and very soft. A classic chocolate cake has always been my favorite cake. This one is 10 out of 10! Coconut Cream Cake: Very light and fluffy. The icing has a beautiful whipped texture that melts in your mouth. The coconut shavings really added to the texture of this cake. I'd rate this one 7 out of 10. Strawberry Dream Cake: WOOOOW. Fresh strawberries are mixed into the batter (I think) because my piece definitely had fresh fruit in it! The cake was so soft and a little more dense than the other 2 cakes. Not in a bad way, in a perfect way you'd want your cake to be with fresh fruit. The icing was so smooth and had an amazing flavor. This is, hands down, the best strawberry cake I've ever had. 100 out of 10!! Chocolate Euphoria Cake: Death by chocolate should be the name! There were so many types of chocolate and textures. Edited for typos: Dessert Gallery cakes are already delightful to look at out the case. I ordered several cakes for delivery for our wedding using their online site. I asked for setup as I saw in a previous review that if instructed, they could do so. Cakes were delivered a few minutes ahead of schedule, no complaints. However, when i told the driver I'd let him up to set up he said he was only there for delivery. Didn't let that ruin the moment, I took the four boxes of cakes and signed for delivery. Fast forward to cake cutting. The lemon was the star of the show. The cut slice stood up perfectly and photographed well. We ordered four different flavors (lemon, strawberry, german chocolate, and French vanilla). I have been getting text for the last three to four days asking about the cakes and where we got them. Everyone seemed to enjoy the flavor or flavors they picked. Sure, we could have gone all out for the prettiest most elaborate cake, but nothing beats a MOIST AND GOOD TASTING cake.
