The Dessert Gallery is always a good pop in and pop out bakery. My favorite dessert to get would 100% be the monkey bars. The mixture of gooey coconut, with chocolate chips and graham cracker crust just blows my mind every time I take a bite. Being a huge fan of German chocolate desserts --this feels like a bar equivalent. The staff members are okay. They take my order, give me my items and that's all--which there is nothing wrong with! Ordered a 6" lemon blueberry cake this morning and picked up at 5 tonight. I was told at pick-up that there was no sauce, which is the best part of this cake. Found out when I got home that they forgot the sprinkles, which I paid extra for. Not great for a $45 six inch cake. They had all day to let me know about the sauce. No excuse for the missing sprinkles. I was later told on the phone that I could drive back down there and be put on some list for a discount or something - gee thanks. read more

I had the strawberry dream cake. That particular type of cake is supposed to have fresh strawberry in the cake and in the icing. Instead I got cake mix strawberry cake with fake strawberry canned frosting complete with all the artificial flavoring, fake strawberry crunch bits and blah taste and texture for the cake itself, and runny canned frosting texture and overly sweet fairness that comes with that junk too. Why, because I know it is worth every penny and the family looks forward to it. This experience at the Woodlands location for a 140.00 Lemon Berry sheetcake was horrible. First the whole top of the cake was slathered in blueberries and the syrup. Not at all like the picture with a "trim of blueberries around edges. The cake fell apart while cutting (cold cutting) it. So for Thanksgiving it was a mess. The frosting in between layers was so thick but would not even hold the layers together. I called to inquire about the difference of the picture on the website and what I received, he just kept repeating "that's how we make it sometimes". I paid for consistency! Sometimes is not what I paid for. I have been baking for over 50 years and know what I received was not worth $140.00. This is the last year for Dessert Gallery. read more

I was immediately turned down without hesitation. Dessert Gallery says they no longer accept cake orders of this caliber or tiered cakes of any kind. They instead offered me sheet cake...very funny. I generally enjoy desserts from Dessert Gallery, however, I went to try their new Brooklyn Blackout cake and was underwhelmed. First, $12.95 for such a small cake slice is not worth the value. The price should be adjusted for smaller pieces of cake that are not stacked as high. Also, the cake was a bit underwhelming. Stick with mom's chocolate cake for a sweeter and more decadent bite. They do keep the space clean and professional though. read more

Ordered the "Big O" (Oreo) cake for my birthday and it was delicious!! It is extremely rich though so a very small piece is all you need! We had leftovers that lasted several days! It was definitely one of my favorite mousse cakes that I've had! The Oreo is present but not overpowering! It is similar to a tuxedo cake with some large Oreo pieces baked inside. This is a great place for late night sweet cravings, birthday desserts, or desserts for any occasion really. They have increased their prices quite a bit over the years. One slide of cake is about $8 now and a slice of the cosmic cake is about $12. The cosmic cake had a bit too much going on for me and it tasted more like a cookie or brownie than a cake. I was not a huge of the cosmic cake. They also charge $10.95 for the giant chocolate circle that you can write happy birthday or anything on. The price was a bit steep for a thin piece of chocolate so we decided against it. However, I've also tried the carrot cake and many of the other cakes, which are all very decadent and taste heavenly! It is worth the money for events or if you are in the mood to splurge for sure! read more

The first time I visited, I walked right out because they only have generic desserts/flavors. I ended up giving Dessert Gallery a chance because I needed a lemon cake for my coworker's birthday. My team consists of 5 individuals, so I was hoping to order a 6 inch luscious lemon cake, but that flavor is only available in the 9 inch size. I arrived to pick up my cake order and was told that they could not find my order even after showing them the email confirmation. At this point I'm mildly panicking because this is obviously part of the big birthday celebration. The other cashier jumped in and was able to successfully look up the order. The original cashier started bagging up the cake, so I asked her to if I could look at the cake to confirm my order and that there was the requested text on the cake. She gave me a dirty look and said "what writing - there's no writing on the cake." Thankfully, the same other cashier from earlier said he was packing up the white chocolate circle with the requested text. Will probably never come back here - too many good bakeries with better offerings and less attitude. read more

The Italian cream cake was great. It was moist, had enough nuts and toasted coconut. Yum! The only reason it's a 4/5 instead of a 5 /5 is the tables were not clean. There weee several staff members there who were standing around; someone needed to wipe those tables down. Also the knife to cut our cake was the same; therefore we had blueberry frosting on the strawberry dream cake. The bag we carried our cakes out in was dusty. Even if it's one of the best bakeries I've ever tasted, cleanliness is also important. Hope the back of this restaurant is clean; the cakes are really good.
