OUT OF STATE BUYER BEWARE. I wish we had something positive to say as some of these other reviews, but our experience with DMC was beyond disappointing. Our prequalified son had been looking for a very specific car and we thought we found it at this dealership which was in Texas and we are in Arizona. Not a big deal for us to fly to Texas, so we gave them a call on a Friday morning. We spoke to Don who advised the car was still available. Great! I let him know my son already had his financing secured with our credit union so he could be assured we were serious buyers. We also had a friend who lives about an hour away from them who was willing to make the trip to actually see the car in person to ensure the car online, was the car we were buying. I asked him if we could provide a deposit and he advised that they didn't take deposits to hold vehicles. I asked what would secure the car and he advised once they initiated contact with our bank and got the ball rolling that would hold the car. Ok - We gave Don all of our loan rep's information and all of my son's personal information to begin a transaction. Our bank advised they would just need to receive a buyer's order and they could overnight a check. We were then contacted by Rance Friday afternoon who said he was one of the owners. I had a nice conversation with him about Texas and how friendly and great the folks in Texas are. He immediately wanted to sell us an extended warranty. We hadn't thought about that, and weren't sure. He emailed me the information on the warranty and advised he'd send the buyers order to our bank. One with and without and we could decide with the bank. Great. My son went to the bank that afternoon at 4pm our time and 6pm Texas time (closing time for DMC). He was advised they never received anything from DMC. DMC was already closed so we had to wait until the next morning to find out what happened. Meanwhile, my son could hardly stand the excitement. I contacted Don early Saturday morning to advise the bank hadn't received anything. At 10:30 Texas time, Rance called me to ask about a warranty again. I told him per what he said verbally and via email, I thought he was sending it over both ways and we had time to read up on it and decide later? It's now Saturday and the bank is closed. I gave Rance verbal confirmation that he indeed wanted the car and at 11:28am Texas time Saturday, Rance emailed me the buyer's order. As a buyer/customer - this tells me we have a deal on this car. I then let Don know via text at 12:30pm Texas time that our friend would be there 4:00pm. He replied " "OK, thanks". I then called at 3:00pm Texas time asking to speak to Don or Rance. The person I spoke to advised that "they were busy" and took a message. Don then called me back at 3:30pm Texas time to say "Not sure if your friend is on his way, but we have someone here buying the car". What?!! I was dumbfounded. Somewhere within the span of 3 hours since we last communicated- they sold the car. And yes, my friend had already made the trip and was 20 minutes away. Don blamed us saying "your friend never showed up". Well, Don - check your text message. I advised he would be there by 4pm and you replied "ok, thanks". It was 3:30pm. And he wasn't going to tell us whether or not to buy the car, he was giving us peace of mind with an out of state purchase in actually seeing the car in person. Then Rance got on the phone and gave me the excuse that "he was waiting for me to decide on the warranty". Really? You sold the car because you weren't sure if we wanted a warranty? He then insulted me by asking if we'd like them to find us another car. Wow. The right thing to do would be tell the buyer that was there that they would find another car for THEM. Don and Rance both stated "they didn't have the money for the car yet". But I have a buyers order from you, it's Saturday and unless this buyer has cash, you'll have to wait for their funds too? Rance then replied "Well, this buyer is writing us a check". Ok, so they had no problem selling the car to the cash buyer in front of them instead of honoring a sale with an out of state buyer and waiting a couple more days for the funds from our bank. The bottom line is this dealership sold the car right out from under an out of state buyer because it gave them the money in their hand on Saturday vs. waiting for on overnight check from our bank. After they dropped the ball and failed to contact our bank on Friday as they said they would. This was their business decision to make, but definitely was not an honest or service oriented decision. I'm certain by the time we received our call, the other buyer had already signed and was driving off the lot with the car. If there was truthfully any doubt on their end about a solid deal with us, a simple/honest phone call FIRST when this buyer showed interest while we were communicating that day would have been the honorable thing to do. read more

We were looking for a car for our teenager and since we previously had such a great experience at Destination Motors, without all the typical car buying pressure, so we thought we should return there first. They are very helpful but not pushy at all. My daughter found a car she really liked at a price under market. She wanted to drive another car before we made a decision (She didn't want to buy the first car she saw). Shawn, the salesman was very nice about us going to another dealership. At the second dealership they were very aggressive and rude so we left and returned to Destination Motors and purchased the car. Rance and Josh were great to work with both times and they remembered me from my original purchase. My daughter made the comment that the dealerships were so different and she would always want to buy her cars at place like this. I completely agree with her. I was in the market for a used truck and found one at Destination Motorcars. Wylie was a bit of a drive from where I was and it was a bit off the main path, but was completely worth it. The truck looked exactly like the photos. I spoke to one of the owners and the first thing he looks for is the smell of the car. He said if it smells in anyway bad, he won't sell it. My husband had been looking to trade in his civic for a while. He came across Destination Motorcars and a truck he wanted. We made the hour drive to Wylie and honestly I did not think we would make any deal. I am always extremely cautious especially with buying a used vehicle. To my surprise our experience was great! We arrived right when the office opened and met with Lori. She treated us like we have known each other for years. We went for my husband yet Lori took the time to show me a car I was interested in. Not once did she try to pressure me into buying but I loved the fact that she remembered exactly what I liked and took the time to say "Erica, you said you were interested in this do you want so see it?" We even sat in the vehicle for a few minutes exchanging car experiences. We then met with Rance to go over the financial side and when none of the deals worked in our favor, Rance was so awesome and helped us find the right deal and car for us! I had just moved to Dallas and needed to buy a car I went to a lot of used car dealerships and ran into some very talented sales teams. None of them seemed to have My car. A relative recommended Destination Motorcars in such glowing terms, I went to their website immediately. I did not see anything that grabbed my attention. The next day I checked, I saw My car. I called and I talked to someone who explained their car buying process to me clearly. And they explained the business. And they did not pressure me. I arranged to go in and see the car. They brought the car out, they explained features of the car, I took a test drive. Fell in love with My car. They explained the next steps. They did not pressure me. I ran back to get Financing which I had started through my bank before my move. I had some paperwork issues involving being a new uninsured driver with no driver license. I made several calls into Destination Motorcars. Each time, Destination Motorcars provided me with calm and accurate information. My bank had actually provided me with inaccurate information which would have delayed or stopped me from buying My car. Destination Motorcars pressured me less for Financing than my bank had. I ended up going with Financing set up through their banks rather than my own. Again, no pressure. I cannot say enough about how kind, patient, accurate the team at Destination Motorcars is. In addition, they run the kind of business that we as consumers would run if we ran a dealership and they select cars very carefully. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now and keep forgetting. We were referred to Rance by a friend/ coworker when my son needed a new care earlier this year. When we arrived he was with a client, but another gentleman went ahead showed us around while Rance finished up. Right off the bat it was obvious that this isn't your typical dealership... no pressure, no weird competitive tactics between the team... just honest folks trying to help us out. We told them what we were interested in and the price range. They showed us what was available, gave us feedback and had us test drive 3 cars. They never once tried to up-sell us beyond our price range. My son was pretty sure which car he wanted, but wanted to think on it a bit. The next day he decided for sure, I called Rance and he got the car ready. We went in, paid, signed the paperwork and were out the door pretty quickly. We paid cash for the car, but while we were doing paperwork and chatting he took the time to talk with my 17 year old son about the importance of establishing credit the right way when the time comes. He gave him some great advice, which was pretty much what I had been telling my son already but it was good for him to hear it from another person.
