When Michelle took me outside to show me my car she put my second key fob in her pocket ( I was told that the next day ) instead of giving it to me . Disappointed and Misled - Would Not Recommend We recently visited Destination Nissan in Albany, NY to look at a certified Nissan Murano. Our salesman, Trevor, was friendly at first, and we were upfront from the beginning about two things: the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced (they were shaky during the test drive), and the rear bumper plate was rusty and needed to be replaced. Trevor told us those items wouldn't be a problem. After some back and forth on price, we agreed to meet in the middle--but only under the clear agreement that the brakes and rotors would be new, and the plate would be replaced, as discussed from day one. When the salesman called back to finalize the deal, he gave vague responses when asked directly if the brakes and rotors were replaced. He just kept saying, "they sound great." My husband pressed again, and he eventually said they had been "tweaked." As for the plate, they now said it would be an additional cost. At that point, we walked away from the deal. We're not just disappointed--we're frustrated. We had a clear agreement, and they backtracked. It feels like a bait and switch. Even if they call us back with a better offer, we've decided we won't be purchasing from Destination Nissan. A car is a major investment, and trust matters. I had a great experience buying our car recently at this dealership. We were looking at the 2025 Leaf, of which they had two. We arranged a time to come for a test drive, and to meet with Joe P. Joe was very friendly and pleasant to work with. He's also very knowledgeable about the Leaf, which was great. We had already done a lot of research prior to coming in, so once we did the test drive and got some questions answered, we were prepared to buy it. Awful experience with "service department". Showed up for a recall service, waited over an hour and a half and then am told they don't have the part needed and it is on back order so they don't know when (or if) they will be getting it. MY Pathfinder has a recall for a defective hood latch. I not only received the notice from Nissan but also experience the problem every time I open the hood. I logged into their site to set up an appointment and after entering in my information a banner comes up saying my vehicle has a recall and explained what it is. I set up the appointment and received both an email and text over the next 3 days reminding me of the appointment. I have a 45 minute drive to Destination Nissan and I get to my appointment 10 minutes early. The service employee calls up my appointment and says, " I'm not sure we can do this service as my computer says this recall is not in the catalog". I asked what that means and he said he didn't know as he has never seen it before. He went inside for about 5 minutes and came back and said they will get it done and it will take about 2 hours. I wasn't happy with that timing but figured I didn't have a choice. So I sit in the waiting room for an hour and a half when he comes back and tells me they don't have the part and he's not sure if they will get it back in stock because there is a national shortage of it. I asked if they will notify me when it comes in and he said they can't do that but I should check each month. NOTHING about this appointment was "service". I still don't understand how they can take an appointment for a recall they don't have the part for and then confirm the appointment multiple times without having the necessary part. With the cavalier attitude I was presented with, I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

Maybe the better question should be "what couldn't improve" ? From management right down to the technicians who perform the repairs or whatever you're having done!!! I own a 2019 Nissan Murano, and have no complaints about the performance of the car, only that the moon roof failed. When we bought the car, we purchased an extended warranty for seven years or 60,000 miles for a whopping $2000!! Supposedly "bumper to bumper" warranty through Portfolio. Be careful what you buy!!!!!! Anyway, there was fine print regarding coverage for "trim pieces" that were not covered. In order to get to the repair, the trim had to be removed and at that time are considered unusable for completing the repair. Who in hell designed this-Nissan , NOT ME!!!! I believe that should have been Nissan's responsibility?!?!? Furthermore, after paying $1312.59 after exhausting all avenues to the Portfolio Warranty people and Nissan to do the "right" thing, I reluctantly paid the bill before I checked the repair??? Bad mistake!!! But it didn't take me but less than a minute to discover that the repair was NOT complete!!! I immediately got the service rep, Mark Wells, to come and take a look at the cob job the technician did and bring your camera. Not only is my moon roof destroyed but the light colored interior is marred by dirty hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This business has to be the worst I've come across in my 66 years of life and I needed to tell the story. Went to go get a car I told him my price range which was about 14 to 15k once they heard that they tried to go with the max I was brought this 2017 Nissan rogue with the round 85,000 miles. I was told the vehicle itself was 13,600. The vehicle worth is only around 8000 or so. I get as a business but the up selling is ridiculous. then the next day when I told them I found the same vehicles online for cheaper with around the same miles I told the max I would do is probably 12k which I wasn't... just wanted to see how low they would go with these made up numbers i'm planning on going to Honda or something or Kia next-door. Purchased a pre-owned Dealer Certified Nissan advertised as having navigation and was very disappointed that navigation did not work upon delivery, even though I was assured by the salesman that everything would be in good working order. The service department was unable to get to my car in a timely fashion, so I went to another dealership. 2nd dealership misdiagnosed the problem, so I still do not have working navigation. If they just told me they were market adjusting, I would have moved on the the next deal. This is a typical case of Flip flop hoping I would pay more. I simply would not have put a deposit on a deal and get my hopes up and get all excited. The absolute worst collision centre that I have ever had to deal with in America! I cannot believe that the standards are so abysmal that they do not exist here. My BRAND new Toyota Highlander was vandalised by a bunch of scumbags over the Memorial Day weekend. Police were indifferent and no one called to report the incident so I didn't find out (thanks to street parking) until the next afternoon when I walked a few blocks back to my truck. Progressive Ins had a tow truck transport my vehicle to Nissan Collision. Not only did they BREAK parts on my vehicle, they returned it to me with GLASS, damages, in the same condition the vandals left it in. After back and forth, it took a month using a rental to get my truck REPAIRED with sub-standard none OEM parts. Frickin ridiculous is an understatement. And no apology, no explanation how they broke my car door, why it wasn't cleaned out of the glass - I have children, it was in every crevice. Never again. Wasted so much time and money! Talked to their business development manager about a couple of vehicles that were in transit. I made an appt to have my vehicle trade appraised. I specifically send to him, if they sell let me know I live an hour away. He said he would. The day of my appt , he called me at 8:30 am to confirm my appt. I was on my way. He told me when I got there, to let them know he set up the appt. So what happens when I get there, get a salesperson, starts to take my info, takes the keys to my trade, comes back to me 2 minutes later to tell me the cars have sold. Now my wife is handicapped and it takes her alot of energy to get in and out of the car, On top of that we travelled an hour each way, and you know what i get, HOW about a SENTRA, IF i wanted a SENTRA I would have asked for one. Then as I am walking out the door, someone I assume a manager yells out to me as I was leaving there would be some 2023 models of what I wanted coming in in September. The woman who greeted me at the front desk was very courteous. It seemed, however, that there was a sales meeting going on, which I could see in one of the offices in front of me, and no one was available to see me. Huh? Every single sales person was crammed into this office. So, since they did not seem interested in my business, I asked the woman if they, at least, had a brochure I could take with me. She went and asked one of the sales people crammed into the office, but he could not give her, or me, the time of day. He told her to go look around the corner, which she did. There was a shelf with a mess of brochures, no order whatsoever, but she could not find the one I was looking for. She apologized. I walked out. Tuesday, I was preapproved for a car loan with my bank, so I called this dealership to talk about trading my 2015 Rogue for a newer one, possibly even a new one. I made an appointment for the following day. On Wednesday, they assigned X to me, and he seemed like a nice enough man. I explained what I was looking for and showed him the check from the bank. He went into the office and came back out and said he thought I could get a better interest rate so asked for my permission to apply other places. I said sure. We looked at vehicles and I settled on a 2021 Rogue. On Thursday, I got a call from X saying that if I could bring the car down, there were wholesalers there who might be able to offer more for my trade. So I left work and went back to the dealership. We had made it clear what we wanted for a monthly payment so we were shown a 2018 Certified Preowned Rogue that had the options we had in our current Rogue and more. We were also shown a 2021 Rogue that X said was being sold as used because the owner had been driving it. I said that it would come down to payment. If we could get the 2021 financed for what I wanted, great. If not, then let's go for the 2018. Later that day, I received a text from X telling me that we could not get the 2018 because of the loan to value on my trade. I knew I would have negative equity on my trade, but my bank didn't seem to think that was an issue. I asked about my bank and the check I had, because they had not said anything about that. When I asked what my payments would be, he quoted me a number that was higher than I wanted. He assured me that when XX, the finance manager came in the following day, that he could probably get it lower. Great! On Friday, XX called me with a higher number than X had quoted and I said X gave me a lower number and we were hoping to go lower than that. We finally got it down, but still higher than I wanted, but I said OK. X and I texted throughout the day and it was set up so I could pick it up after work that day. I got to the dealership, and saw a text from X telling me they didn't have a title to the car, so I couldn't take it that day. I was already at the dealership when I saw the text! It could be Monday, or even a week before they had it in hand. At this point I blew! I had made 3 trips down, taken time off work, and gone through half a tank of gas to walk out of there empty handed. He went back into the office to let them know I was frustrated and angry and he said that they could deliver the car to us when it came in. I again mentioned the check from my bank and he said that it didn't mean anything- it was a sales ploy to get my business. At that point I read the letter from my bank verifying that it was not a marketing ploy. So when we left, I told him I would let him know where things stood. He was very polite (as always) and my husband and I left. On the way home, I called my bank and the representative had to pretty much talk me down. She assured me that my check should be as good as cash, and the process should have been simple. As soon as I got home, I called X and told him we were pulling the deal, that our check was real all along and that we were done jumping through hoops at their whim. On Saturday morning (today), I received a call from the Finance Manager. I asked him if he had heard that we had pulled the deal. He stated that he had been able to work our numbers and get us a payment that we wanted all along. I reiterated that I had had financing all along, and that I was done jumping through their hoops and that because of their running my credit to get financing THEY wanted me to have, it took a toll on my credit score. So I told him to have a nice day and I hung up. My husband and I drove to another dealership, and 2 hours later, I had purchased a car. For the record, X is the only reason I gave this dealership 1 star. I feel like XX and the main office were forcing him to put us through the problems we went through. To start, I ended up here because I received a pre approval offer from Capital One Auto Finance and was called by Eric the finance manager to come in. I made an appointment and upon arrival I was told that he was with another customer, but George was going to help me pick a car. I stated that I had some budget concerns but it was brushed aside. I picked a car and waited 2 hours while insurance was finalized among other things I guess. Eric was finally able to see me and to my surprise there was a sticker price well above the MSRP and a payment over $140 more than I could afford. When I decline the offer he acted shocked and said "I just can't believe this". He proceeded to offer me free car washes and oil changes and acted as though I was an idiot for not accepting. I left when he started pounding his fists and shouting that I couldn't get a brand new car for what I could afford. Ok no problem. I walked out. George followed me as he was very eager to make his sale considering her needed to sell one more car this month to make his bonus. (Or so I was told). He urged me to wait for John, his manager who wanted to speak to me. While I was waiting, Eric bursts out and starts shouting offers. In. The. Parking lot. I was mortified. Here were people shopping for cars and such and this guy is screaming offers at me. I have never been so embarrassed. Once again I tried to leave and George urged me to stay. I met with John and we agreed on a price within my budget. As I was getting inspecting my purchase, I noticed a scratch in the front bumper. My real complaint comes with the fact that the car I bought was damaged. It was agreed before the purchase that this would be repaired. I made an appointment to get my car fixed and was informed the dealership would need it for a few days. I inquired about a rental as I live about 1/2 an hour away and would need to drive to work. I was told this needed to be set up with sales, as there was no indication for a rental on the fix it ticket. I left numerous voicemails, emails and text messages for my sales guy, George, none of which were returned. I missed my service appointment because I had no gaurentee I would be able to get to work. I am floored. I saw him while dropping my car off and he acted as though he hadn't received anything. I asked him to please try and arrange a rental for me. He still hasn't called. I ended up seeing him in the parking lot later that day and asked about my numerous messages and he pretended he had been so busy that day that he hadn't look at his phone. He told me he would call the next day and try to get me in with hertz. He never called. The real kicker? Because my credit isn't great, I was thrilled to get an approval for Capital One. But I wasn't financed through them, but through Nissan itself. After my credit was run. Eleven times. 11 hard inquiries to get me "the best offer" when then only one I was really approved for was through Nissan. So John you can keep your free car washes (I was offered free car washes in exchange for a good review) because this has been one of the worst experiences in my life. I have never felt less valued as a customer. Maybe if I had brought a man with me or was able to purchase a fancier car I would have had the courtesy of at least a call back from one of the three people I had left messages for. read more

Hope you are having a good evening. I have been having very bad experience with the service dept. In the last few months I bought 2 cars from Destination 2021 Nissian Rogue and 2017 Jeep Rengade. The Rogue at end of Nov/Dec and the Jeep middle of Jan. So Last week made service appointment because I was having electrical problems will my Jeep Stereo System. So called service and made appointment I called and spoke with service advisor tech. I also told him I will need ride to work and back to dealership. He said Destination Nissian does have Shuttle service but Kia's does and we use them so no problem. I drop off car Monday morning and Another supervisor said We don't have any shuttle service and Kia does not shuttle for us. He was not happy another advisor told me this, he said he try and get me a ride. I told him I just bought car and have the 90 day warranty 4000 dealer warranty still and also extended warranty I purchase. He said not going to cover seeing what the problem is. Me thinking why buy a used car from this dealership if the warranty's mean nothing. So I was waiting a hour for getting a ride which service promise they get for me. So I got tired of them stringing me along. So I contact the salesman who I bought both cars from Michael P. He was awesome he actually went out side in rain and found Kia shuttle driver and had him give me ride to work. My service luke said I was on my own getting back to dealership after work. Destination Nissian is the only big dealership I know that does not provide shuttle service. Then the service advisor Luke called me later and said and said they found one problem and working on the other issue you mention will call you in 1 hour. 2 hours goes by and I called and he said OOO let me ask tech some mins past. He comes back still working on it. Call you back in a hour. So another 2 hours go by and I call and he does same thing OOO let me ask tech. Still not done. He said can you leave car? I said I have no way home and live over 1 and half hours from Albany. He said OO well you can take car home when can you bring back ASAP? I said you have a loaner, I can leave it. He says let me check. mins pass. He says you can rent car? So I rented car since I did not what to bring car back again and go thru this stress and drama. So Tuesday waiting from call from Service Advisor Luke calls and he never calls. So on my lunch. I call and Service advisor Luke Says O we have an update. Electrical problem and fixed. But you have to pay diagnostic fees, which I was told when but car would be covered under warranties and especially if something happen under 90 day, 4000 miles dealership warranty as Luke the service advisor told me sales does not know want their talking about they do sales. So I come to dealership turn in rental car and pay for these charges. When I go to my car my new driver side seat I brought was also down on floor. When I look at the clip that locks is in around head rest is broken off. I called Luke back and said look at that. He says was it like that-I Said know, was not broken when drop car off. He took pic and said you those service techs they are rough. I said they don't care . He said yes. So damage to my personal property is the last straw for me. I will never return and Wayne in the service said ne would replace my seat covered they destroyed but have not. Stay away awful customer service in service department!! Having done thorough research and identified the make and model I was interested in I contacted Destination Nissan about one they had available and was contacted by a salesperson. That salesperson was dealing with personal issues and unavailable when I went in for test drive. Second salesperson was given feedback to pass along for follow-up. Three days later I phoned original salesperson and they had no knowledge of my feedback. A couple of days later, they failed to follow-up again and went out of town. Since the price salesperson had given me seemed good I pushed through and pursued the matter with others in the dealership. Wound up dealing with 5-6 individuals and when I decided to move forward was told the pricing I had been given and confirmed was not possible. Asked for firm pricing in writing which took days to be provided. During that time another vehicle was presented to me elsewhere that was a better fit. read more
