Amazing work but customer service/communication could be better. For my first visit I pull up and they just look at me, but didn't have signs or anything that broke down what the different wash and pricing was. But AFTER gave them my vehicle and walked towards the door there is a QR code, which they could have communicated before. So basic communication would make the experience better. read more

I'm surprised at all the good reviews. The service was trash all around. I waited 3 hours to receive a car still dirty. Like it looks like how I brought it in. With a few wipes. 100$ down the drain. At first glance it was nice but I'm like it's dirty literally all around car. The customer service sucks they just look at you. It's weird. Seems like they pick and choose as you can see. Highly disappointed with the turn of events at this establishment. Prior to getting my vehicle detailed I called DetailKings about 2 weeks in advance and was greeted by a gentleman who was very friendly and detailed about the services offered. Made me feel extremely comfortable going to get my vehicle serviced. On November 4th I arrived at Detail Kings establishment to receive a full detail. The Detailer asked which services I requested; since my car recently came out of the shop for repairs, I went over some crucial areas--for example, the exterior side panel and interior door panel. The Detailer explained he could perform those services, and payment was required upfront. Skeptical about paying upfront, I asked the Detailer why payment upfront was required since no work had begun. The Detailer reassured everything would be done accordingly. A payment receipt was provided, but I noticed the receipt failed to display what services were requested, only showing the amount paid of $206.70. Zero itemization or details on receipt, which made me uneasy about proceeding. I called over the Detailer, expressing my concern. The Detailer was unable to assist with the issue and showed passive annotations. Becoming disturbed by this establishment's operation, I requested a refund before work began on the car. A gentleman at the front desk was set to process the refund of $206.70. But I was still charged what seems as an inconvenience fee of $15.60. If payment upfront is required, Detail Kings should provide the customer with proper documentation itemizing the work requested. Allowing customers to have certainty about the performance and assurance of their vehicle. Highly recommend this change moving forward, for the reassurance of the work perform and satisfaction of customers who trust DetailKing with their vehicles. I recently had cataract surgery and suddenly I was able to see dust and dirt I'd never noticed before. If it bothered me (I thought), what if I had to transport a friend or family member in case of an emergency. My car was way overdue for deep cleaning. I saw a listing of places near me and I chose Detail Kings West. Not only was my car cleaned to the max, but the manager reminded me that I was in dire need of replacing my two front tires. I stopped by for a wash and detail on a mid weekday at this black-owned business. The flow was perfect. I was greeted outside as I pulled in. The gentleman that took my car was friendly, held my door for me and explained what the basic wash and detail included. I wanted the full exterior, wheels and inside cleaned. It took almost 30mins and cost $45. My car looked and SMELLED amazing afterwards. They hit every nook and cranny! I appreciate it! I will be back. read more

I've known the owner for a long time and he's ALWAYS had a passion for cars. I had an accident and got my car fixed by a guy who left an excessive amount of wax on the car. I had the wax on my car for 2 days straight in 98 degree weather which was a terrible idea. I went to an automatic car wash 2 times and it wouldn't come off. I started panicking So I pulled up to good ol reliable Detail Kings and the owner took one look at it and said "I got you". (I live an hour 20 away btw). When I tell you the expeditious and efficient work made my week! They buffed the heck out my car but was so careful with it too. Every last piece of wax and anything that resembled a scratch was gone in less than 20 minutes. I had to give them a hug because I thought my car was ruined. So I pulled in to this car detailing shop just to inquire about services. First I was two steps from the door when a young man grabbed the door to open it for me. When I got to the front desk another young man spoke with me about the services,good eye contact, very polite. I decided to give them a try, (the owner I guess )comes out with me and listens to some specific concerns I had about my truck. I watched as these young people thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned my truck. Positive attitudes and they appeared to work very well together. They were definitely about their business. When my truck was finished, the young man and young lady that put that bomb work in on my Jeep presents my truck to me. IM A SUCKER FOR GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICES AND THESE KIDS WERE AWESOME!!! I just bought a 2020 SUBARU Forester almost 2 months ago and the staff here are exceptionally detail oriented as my car always looks spanking new. I used to detail cars when I was much, much younger and I'm impressed with their work here. I love supporting black businesses and am disappointed I have to give this bad review. I called in prior to coming to the establishment and was greeted by a gentleman who was very lively, talkative, and friendly. He told me about the specials, expected wait time (approx 1hr), etc. Even referenced being blessed and told me to have a blessed day so I really felt good vibes! When I arrived there was a long line of cars, but it was expected. There was a man who approached and asked what I wanted and I stated inside and out and he stated a price that was way more than what I was quoted over the phone. I exited the car and went inside to pay. After waiting for a while for someone to come to the register and I paid, I waited outside and saw a sign on the street that said it was Woman Wednesdays and the car washes were discounted. When I went back into the establishment to get the discount. I asked the man why I didn't receive the discount. He told me well you didn't say anything. I said well I'm new to your establishment and didnt know and it's clear I'm a woman. He said I didn't see your ID. That really bothered me. That he went back and forth with me and that he insinuated I needed to show my ID to prove I'm a woman. But I still stayed to get the complete experience, which I thought would be better but wasn't. I arrived at the carwash at 5pm when I got off of work. I left the carwash at approx 945pm. I even went and got food and my toes done and still had to sit another hour and a half. If I was made aware it would have been this long either I would have went somewhere else or got someone to pick me up. All I wanted was a cleaning in and out. When I inquired on the wait I kept being told It'll be just a little longer. No apologies for the inconvenience or wait. I was the only woman sitting outside, it was now dark outside with a lot of men and there were men walking past on the street. I felt extremely uncomfortable, but I have patience and wanted to see this out to the end. The entire time I was outside no one came to check on me or give me any assurance of when my vehicle would be complete. Then the final time I asked about the wait time I was told well, you got the mini detail and we were busy in a aggressive tone. For one I never asked for the mini detail I just wanted in and out cleaning. There were also 3 other people "fussing" about their vehicles cleanliness and the wait time. I hadn't even checked my vehicle yet but I figured it would be the best cleaning ever in life after that wait! When I checked there were smudges on the outside windows and door frame. The tires were shined but the rims weren't cleaned. My cup holder, rear view mirror, and floor mats were still dirty. The bottom sides of the front doors weren't wiped down. The seats were vacuumed but not under my floor mats or in the creases by the seats where the dirt could be seen. It wasn't horrible but wasn't what I expected at ALL. Worst cleaning, hospitality, and customer service I've ever received from a professional carwash/detailing establishment. I complained to the closest person I saw and he wiped a few spots I pointed out and apologized for the way things happened. But it was too late for apology. I would've requested to speak with a manager but after being at work all day then here the rest of the evening, I just wanted to head home and didn't have the energy. Not to mention there were still a few other people complaining....yes there was a line...and they were yelling! So I left and will not be back. read more
